Flying with Arduino drone (award-winning DIY project)

  • Just a short video about a DIY Arduino based drone/quadcopter that I made from scratch a few years ago! It was such a challenginf project back in the days, maybe I should remake it now? :)

      I've read a bunch of instructable projects but yours is like a diary. You're right. Story telling is a significant part of catching people's interest. Technical details would be pretty dry without it. Keep the quality up Nikodem. You can explode your views number I'm sure.

    Interesting quadcoptor. Would a commercial drone have performed similarly under those wind conditions? If this was built with an older Arduino I wonder if using a newer microcontroller with a faster CPU might improve the balance calculations.

      Commercial drones such as DJI use much more advanced technology, GPS, camera positioning, ultra sonic sensors and so on. There is no way to make such a drone at home. It should perform much better but I have never flown any commercial drone before. Faster CPU may improve it a little bit but the biggest limitation here is a speed of MPU6050 (gyro and accelerometer module) once you get more than 100 readings per seconds it starts to give pretty inaccurate results.

      I tried checking, shows their that the overall cost is about $200, you can actually build a race type fpv drone with that money.. but still great project

    Witam, czy są anteny ktore wzmocnia sygnal FPV. Chodzi mi o takie punkty ze stawiam i wzmacniaja sygnal. Np. Polece za wiadukt gdzie mi zrywa sygnal i bede mial obraz. Moze jakis link. Pozdrawiam.

    You need to have faster gyro updates. Use Watchdog Interrupts and faster gyro library.

      Czemu nie :) raczej mało osób interesuje się taką tematyką a nagrywanie po polsku jeszcze bardziej zaweżyło by publikę. Zastanawiałem się nad założeniem kanału po polsku o podobnej tematyce ale zrobiony trochę inaczej. Teraz nie mam na to czasu ale w niedalekiej przyszłości chciałbym go stworzyć.

      Od 4 lat zajmuję się samym arduino, wcześniej zajmowałem się również programowaniem i trochę elektroniką. Zobacz sobie mój poprzedni film o robocie sterowanym pilotem RC, to coś idealnie na początek. Sprawdź też arduinopolska.cba.pl - to moja strona z projektami która jest już dość stara ale znajdziesz tam kilka fajnych prostych projektów. Powodzenia.
