You should not attach the light on top of the helmet the way you did. It is blocking the MIPS layer, so it will not move and protect your brain in case of crash. You have to put the light strap between the EPS foam and the MIPS layer.
@@pedalpowercycling Depends on how easily it can break away. If it breaks away with ease it shouldn't cause that much interference. That's what one from Virginia Tech's employees told Seth during his visit. You can find the video at his Berm Peaks channel.
Hi Barber, Thank you for watching and for the kind comment, did you end up getting the Bontrager Solstice, Specter or Ballista? Do you like it? I'm enjoying mine! Have fun riding!
You're very welcome and thanks for the cheer! I try to answer all the questions I'd have if I were to make the purchase or decide between different helmets.
hello, ik this vid is 2yrs old but may iask what you think would be the perfect size for me? My head is 54cm and im still debating whether id go for the s/m or m/l
Thank you for this extremely detailed unboxing & review. Very helpful!
I'm glad you found it useful! Thanks for the comment!
Can you take a picture without the visor please? Going to use it on dropbar.
Thank you for this, this is a very detailed explanation. I already ordered the black version of this helmet.

Thanks, I think any light on the head will negate some of the helmet's abilities to protect your head. They're not crash tested with lights on them.

I bought this helmet when it was on sale for $40. Very comfortable helmet!
Great find! Excellent deal!
Nice review. Thanks so much. Getting a couple tomorrow!

I don't know because some heads are more round and some more egg shaped. I'd probably go m/l and get larger pads (aftermarket) if necessary.
@@pedalpowercycling sounds like a good idea. thank you so much.
You're welcome! I really like the Solstice but have now moved on to the Giro Aries as my go to daily helmet. The Aries runs narrow.
I ride a hybrid bike but bought a road helmet, is that a bad idea , should have I gotten a solstice ?
Shouldn't be a problem. A road helmet is better than no helmet.
Great review!
Thanks for the kind comment Kristie!
Thanks for this video, very informative and helpful.
Does the visor can be removed?
Yes, you can permanently remove it by yanking it out (I did). If you do this it may not go back in and you may void any warranty and can't return it.
Can you take a picture of it without the visor? Are there any eye sore holes?
Is the visor detachable?
Yes you can detach it but you might not be able to put it back on. It's not designed to take on and off. I took mine off permanently.
Great video, thanks a lot!
Glad you liked it!
Is this a mountain or road bike helmet
Both, but if you use it for road only, I'd permanently remove the visor.
@@pedalpowercycling k thanks , great review by the way 👍🏽
@@pedalpowercycling Curious, why remove the visor for road cycling - aerodynamics?
