    Excellent demonstration. I learned this 40 years ago. I've been teaching it ever since.

    Fighting stance. Been telling my kids to stand like they are ready to avoid a punch or throw one.

      It makes sense, the kickboxing stance I was taught was to be able to throw weight in a punch and not fall over, a gun would work the same

      This isn't necessary at all 😂 relaxed and standing normal is the correct way. Feet shoulder width apart. That's it.

    I've been taking crap for years over my modified Weaver stance that was taught to me by my friend who is a retired Navy Seal. I've taught a lot of others to stand like this and their shooting always improves!! Also we all have a natural point of aim if you are comfortable with your stance close your eyes pull out you imaginary weapon then open your eyes and see where it's pointing super easy to correct your aim point! Lazy is comfortable and accurate!

    Absolutely. My stance for 40+ years based on the basic fighting stance. You’re rooted into the ground against recoil plus better able to move in any direction. Thank you!!

    Cool demonstration. This stance is now referred to as: The Power Isosceles stance.
    This is the Isosceles stance with the non-strong side just slightly forward.
    This the same stance you should have at the urinal so that someone can’t push your head into the wall or urinal pipes while you’re doing your business.
    Recoil mitigation from the front or aggressive push from the rear, the offset feet prevent total loss of balance or control.
    Thanks for the video.

    Same BS in ARMY 96/97/98, argued then it was stupid and exhausting trying to shoot in that stance, was pulled off to the side and got smoked, was amazing to me that the military did not understand or apply body mechanics.

    • @UncleDanBand64
      @UncleDanBand64 5 месяцев назад +3

      That was how most shot then and back through history if they weren't shooting with a single hand. Pretty much, the hold now practiced in my opinion spun from the introduction of lighter polymer pistols. Basically they cycle better with a firm grip. I know guys that shoot the teacup grip today that can shoot an eye out at 25 yards. However, their follow up shots will be slower.

      You got it @@UncleDanBand64.!
      With a lower recoiling firearm or caliber, merely steadying the sight picture is enough.
      If one needs to harness recoil, then the underhand support needs a transition to something more significant.

    Interesting. I’ve been saying this for a few weeks now. Just because something was taught 40, 50, 60 years ago does not mean it is wrong. Like it or not, that is the Weaver stance from the 1950’s. Maybe you could call it a modified Weaver but still….

  • @2dclxvi
    @2dclxvi 5 месяцев назад +5

    Essentially it's the same basic stance you would assume when throwing a dominant hand punch in boxing.

    • @benjaminlanzotti1374
      @benjaminlanzotti1374 5 месяцев назад

      Boxing is bladed (shoulders/hips/feet on a line not stacked) and the rear leg is back to do two things...make you less hittable, and to allow the hip turn in for power. His foot here is back but his hips are UNDER his shoulders. A better martial art stance to think of for correlation would be Muay Thai.

    • @2dclxvi
      @2dclxvi 5 месяцев назад

      @@benjaminlanzotti1374 I've done a lot of Muy Thai training so it's actually my instinctive fighting stance...now that I think about it you're correct...the classic boxing stance has a more rotated hips structure in relation to your opponent that doesn't crossover as well to shooting.

  • @Levi-wk2hg
    @Levi-wk2hg 5 месяцев назад

    That's great, if you have the time and mental acuity to actively achieve such a stance. As humans we naturally stand squared up to whatever we are dealing with. Usually with your dominant foot slightly behind your non dominant.
    There's practicing with the ideal stance, and there's accepting that an ideal stance is unlikely to be the norm. If you can shoot accurately while moving, while seated, while prone or supine, then stance doesn't mean shit. Not a bad idea to know this and learn it. Just don't expect you'll likely achieve it in a gunfight.

Range work was mostly theatric around the diet El Prez. Oh and after outshot Haley and Nate, Haley forgot all about his bet for a full discount.
      Just of those things you did and years later you look back and wonder “what was I thinking?”. Well at least it was only $800 + ammo and gas.
