This just inspired me to buy one and some tools, paints etc. and get back into modelling. I’m 54 and the last time I built a model I was 16 lol. Great memories sitting at the end of the dining table doing my models as a kid:)
What I like about your presentations is the that we don't deal with ugly faces and useless talk, just action, action, action...! Stay on it...you do great work...!!
Thank you for not NOT over weathering. Too many of these videos by others have ridiculous amounts of weathering on these planes. I don't know what country you come from, but we don't keep our planes looking like they were stored in a barn.
Golden Manuever sorry sir, but you are wrong in this case. Navy planes get sunbleached constantly from being on the ocean for so long, furthermore the usaf doesnt maintain the looks of the navy planes incredibly well either. This is a navy plane, therefore, if anything, this model is under weathered. Not sure what country you come from but it looks like they spend a lot on keeping their planes looking nice which is pointless
Another awesome looking model, I really am impressed with how professional, the model looks, as well as the way you have choreographed the video! Keep up the good work! Thanks
I bought F/A-18C today, it's not a double seat but thank god I love it. I watched this video to know how to create this aircraft will be my biggest masterpiece
@@ScaleModelAircraft how are you so good at building models? i’m not good at it lol but i’m gonna go back to building model planes and see if i can do it correctly
I love this kit. I also have the "E" version and maybe i will buy the "G" version. Perfect fit and very easy to build..is the state of the art for the F/A-18 series in 1/72!
Fantastic build and the model looks great. Nice to see they're showing the E and G models also. Looking forward to more build videos and getting a few of this model for my stash.
Excellent work mate, i like your way of modelling, i like your blue cardpaper as ground, i like your smoothy background music, i like you wear gloves, so all in all your videos are very professionell and i am eager for the next model.
good build, nice kit, excellent music and video. would have been better with weathering and folded wings in my opinion but still an awesome job. more 1 /72 builds please 👍🙆😀
Dusan, just got released from the hospital after a 6 week stay, so nice to come hoe and see this build along with the Tamiya F-16 C FULL BUILD waiting for me to watch. As always, beautiful build my friend. I have missed watching your channel. I have the 1/32 Tamiya F-16, such a beautiful kit, can't wait to build it. Please check out the Bandai 1/144 Star Wars Millennium Falcon. Bandai did an amazing job on this kit, featuring revolutionary layering of detail that is just amazing! The design on this kit is just incredible, and if you choose it lends itself well to lighting especially if you get the Paragrafix Photo Etch set which allows you to light the cockpit in a way that you would not be able to without it. .25 fiber optics filiment and a few LED's and SMD's and it is really a beautiful kit when finished. Perfect fit on all parts. So, I wanted to request you build one of these so i can see what you do with it. By the way, you can paint the various hull panel colors or because the decals or so very good use them with a good decal setting solution to look like they were painted on. Really would appreciate you building one of those. All the best my friend, It's good to be home!
I really like to see you in action !! This academy kit seems to be pretty good, but I did not like the canopy being in one piece. I like to make my models with the canopy open and doing a surgery does not seem to be very cool! Greetings from Brazil!!
First timer here, I thought some people would spray the parts first (including the body) then assemble it. Or it is just people have variablw differences when assemblying model kit?
Masterpiece, I do admire the painting technique. I got a Sparmax TC-610H air pump. As for airbrush, I got 1 no. of Sparmax SP-20X with 0.2mm nozzle and 1 no. of Sparmax Max 3 with 0.3mm nozzle. I would like to know what is the best pressure to be set and the ratio of paint and thinner to be used for good painting result. I usually use Tamiya and Gunze acrylic paint. Thank you for your professional advise.
Thank You David for kind words! Yes I like to use that method, really works. In this build I am using the Tamiya blades, model and design blade (Olfa). All the best! Dusan.
Well done. I have a question. When using the glue with the brush like that, I thought it would show later on the surface or at least make the paint not hold well. Is this not true or did I miss a step? Thanks.
You know the mottling technique? When i do that, i feel like there is not enough paint, but if i add any more, the effect isnt as much and its basically plain. Some modellers just do a plain base coat, and then more stuff to highlight and weather. Which should i do? I was thinking of doing the mottling technique for the underbelly, and just base coat with highlights for the top(doing a p-39)
Excuse me, dusan. I want to ask you something if you dont mind share a little bit of a secret how you mask your intake. Thats always been my weakness whenever i build fighter jets. Thanks in advance
Nice Build! Quick question: I noticed you used Mr Cement along all the seams on the bottom of the wings. Was that sanded smooth at a later step or did it clean up with the alcohol bath?
Great finish as usual! Looks like a lot of clever engineering has gone into this kit! How good would it be as a snap together? My son has dyspraxia and so has poor motor skills. I am looking for something that he and i can do together and these academy kits look just the thing! I think they do an F4 also?
Really an awesome video, very nice.......especially for proven professionalism. I wanted to ask you, in general what is the optimum pressure to keep on the compressor for an airbrush, i use a Paasche VLS double action.....many thanks!!
Thanks for the answer!!! a last question. does the compressor pressure be adjusted with the operating airbrush or airbrush still? For example: a pressure of 20psi intends 20psi airbrush firm or 20psi regulated at the most to in operation open airbrush? All the best......! Federico
This kit is very nice, excellent fitting. About the details, for example, I have built the Hasegawa FA-18F in 72nd scale. The intake is much better here and only downside is the one piece canopy. Thanks! All the best! Dusan.
Just got back into building after 30 years. Thank God I dont need to buy kits cuz I have over 300 unbuilt kits and today what the model manufacturers are asking for a plastic model kit is absolutely ridiculous ! How do they justify selling a kid made of a blob of polystyrene plastic for $50 $60 $80 ? They are only hurting themselves in the long term. How can the next younger generation of model builders afford to get into this hobby not to mention all the paints, air brushes and accessaries you still need to buy. Young kids will be turned off by the cost when they can buy the latest XBOX or Play Station game and be entertained for hours a day. Once the current model builders go away who is going to fill that spot this will be the demise of this hobby in my opinion. When an average model kit cost anywhere from $45 to a $125 that is ridiculous who can afford that ? Again, I only got back into it because I have 300 plus unbuilt models that I bought when I was working at a hobby shop 30 years ago and never had time to build them. Now I have time but if I had to buy them today...no way..... I wouldn't get back into the hobby again. Wake up hobby industry.
I just built this kit over the last few weeks and it went together like a dream. A “quick win”. Highly recommended.
Dusan you make the absolute best model building videos ever. I've been modeling for over 45 years and I'm still learning from you. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words Daniel! All the best! Dusan.
Me too. The “ supposedly “ great modeling from the eighties, looked like packaged toys for kids, compared to this aircraft.
This just inspired me to buy one and some tools, paints etc. and get back into modelling. I’m 54 and the last time I built a model I was 16 lol. Great memories sitting at the end of the dining table doing my models as a kid:)
