- The Su-27 Flanker is known worldwide as one of the best fighter aircraft. It has spectacular manoeuvrability which is achieved for example by modifying the wing leading edges. Due to the powerful thrust of its engines the Su-27 is easily able to perform the legendary Cobra maneouver. This air superiority fighter was developed to counter the F-15 Eagle and entered service in 1984. After 1991 the Su-27 modernization program came to a halt. Development was only continued after later export successes. At the end of 2004 the first Su-27 SM's were delivered to front line aviation units. The AL-31 FM engine now produces 13.5 tons of thrust. Maximum speed: Mach 2.15 at 10,000 m (30,000 ft) altitude, weapon load 8 tons.

This the Revell reboxing of the Zvezda kit. Utterly beautiful work a perfect build.
Yeah, I'm pretty late to the party but it's really refreshing to see a "clean" aircraft without all the pre- and post- shading and weathering with which we have all become so familiar. There's a lot of guys who are really masters of weathering and it all looks really cool to be sure, but clean has its place, too.
Had to get that off my chest.

I flew on it too. I was friends with pugachev and showed him how to do the cobra. He performed it at some air show and people think pugachev invented the cobra.

ive buyed the same kit today and I find this video about it. Fantastic! too bad I don't have an air brush... and good glue.. and...all the colors... (but, nevermind.. ill do my best :)

Denny 927 I have an F-14 and F-4 kit from when I was young that I haven't built. As far as favorites go... the F-18, F-16, MiG-29 and Su-27 are at the top. I think the F-15 is the easy choice but hey, it's a great plane.
John Wanderin yeah, back in time, when I was young like you i guess, and a lot time to spare, those aircraft was the very first options, i remember built a f14 hasegawa kit, my best brand, with danger zone soundtrack as a background in the middle of the night, but no internet 20 years ago, and not Dusan helping us sadly, so, the only source was books, and the classics boxart in front of you XD

Hi Faiz,
It really depends on what aircraft subject you want to build since not all manufacturers make the same aircraft in one particular scale and some may only be available in an older tooling (like raised panel lines and rivets). How much you want to spend can be another factor as can how much work is involved to get a great looking result. The best advice I can give is decide on the subject, see who has it in the scale you prefer and then look for kit reviews or better yet actual kit build reviews for that particular kit.
Awesome skills. Now i just purchased 2 of these kits so I can paint then in the 2 markings you made in the video. Looks like it went together very well. The flanker has to be the best looking modern fighter to date. Still can't take the 1st place away from the Spitfire for the most beautiful aircraft of all time though;)

Damn, those Flankers turned out fantastic!!! I’m going to get one of these kits!! I’ve built The Hasegawa 1:72, it was ok. Took quite a bit of filler.

Really good work. I really love the first camo scheme! Should i record my building from the front and close(only hands), from the front and to the side( too low), or from right side me? I used to film from right above but pretty far up( my ither account

Do you have any tips for making pigments stick to the model? im very happy with my result, but each time i touch it some of the pigments fall off. i tried to use some tamiya flat clear on another model, but that made all of the paint come off
I relly do not use pigmets very often, sometimes to make a wash and for tank tracks dirt. You can use a fixer for pigments. All the best! Dusan.
