I'm a Traditionals knife guy myself , but my concession to Knife modernity is the Spyderco Delica (non - serrated , black handle and plastic fixed clip ) , I bought three in late 90's and thirty years later I'm still using the first one , I opened . A great knife , pure utility , function over form . The Delicas and a Spyderco Sharpmaker are the only Spyderco products I own , but if they are still reflective of Spyderco quality , I'm sure this is a fine knife . Maybe it's time for another Spyderco purchase . Great review .
Thanks for your considerations, Michael. The Delica is one I'm curious to explore and I've actually considered their Byrd brand knife that's similar to see if I'd enjoy it.
I really like my PM2. I've had it for about four years now, and it's been a staple in my carry rotation ever since. Glad you got your hands on that one, buddy!
Awesome and very detailed review! I have several PM 2's myself, some are exclusives with various steels and are not safe queens either, they get used in the field, at home on camping trips, and on duty. The PM 2 is a primary edc for me. Hopefully you find that knife that hits the sweet spot for you to edc. Thanks for sharing brother, subbed!👍
Handling a paramilitary 2 was what got me into knives. Our IT guy at my company had one and was showing off the “spydie flick.” I bought a dragonfly to start as the PM 2 seemed huge to me at the time. My daily carry is a Spyderco chaparral. It’s so thin I can clip it inside my wallet.
I've handled a para 2 one time and I see why it's so popular. It's a very comfortable knife for sure. Great review TK! Very in depth and informative! Thanks!!!
Great video, very helpful for me as I’m planning to buy exactly the same one! I’m a knife maniac myself and I like to sharpen them too. Greetings from Antwerp, Belgium!
good review. spyderco makes real solid knives. i wish their customer service and warranty was a little better thats what sets benchmade apart from them for me but they are a very good knife.
Yes, it's unfortunate they are opposed to you disassembling the knife. I like to tinker so that's something of a negative for me. Welcome to the channel Yeti.
I don't own any Spyderco knives. The closet I have is a Byrd Meadowlark II. After using the Meadowlark, I can certainly see why folks like Spyderco. Thanks for sharing, John.
A pretty big investment. One of those one and done kinda things for me. Maybe a Delica in the future, but I don't see myself going deep into the catalog.
As with iconic designs are; you love it or you hate it. It took some time time for me to love it. The hole and the bump they really work fine as ergonomics go, not love on first sight. You have to hold one in hand to see why they look as they do, it is very comfortable. Thank you for the review TK.
Very interesting buy!!!! I was not expecting that one!!!! Saying that they are one of the best EDC knives on the market……. Gettin into the knife hobby everyone starts with Spydercos very cool piece John…… next time you have to try the para 3…… then the lightweights lol don’t go down the Spyderco rabbit hole I’ve got about 300 of them!!!!! You’ll have fun with that one and cutting is wicked with that full flat grind….. keep me updated on that one let me know how your liking it!!!!! Thanks buddy be well 😊
Great review TK I know these are out of your norm but thanks for reviewing one with an open opinion. Other than the price I really like spiderco knives.
Thanks very much Jesse. I hear Cody's folks found a Rough Ryder in their old furnace. Since he's a knife snob maybe he'd be willing to part with it for cheap.
Para2 on TK niiiiiiiiiiiice- solid blade , only spydy I've kept throughout the Years is the Lil native solid small blade- Def recommend- maybe.... boogie man approved
It's a nice knife and I think it would grow on you more as you used it (quality knives can do that) but it would be mostly a safe queen for me in this country so I'll stick to my Real Steels with the moderns, low price, pretty good quality and they keep Nanny Government off my back.
@@ThriftyKaniffy My X5 grandfather was one of George Washington's officers so being a bit contrary is in the blood, if I mention I'm considering a vacation to the State's give your Spyderco a sharpen!!!!🔫
As a long time spyderco customer, I have watched their prices climb. Some of their models are now just over priced.. they went up like 35.00 a year or two ago. I’m still a customer but wish they hadn’t raised their retail on them. Some models are a comparative bargain. Endura, stretch 2 in k390, those are still a decent price.
Interesting that you decided to go with the right-handed version of this. For me with compression locks, I have found that while I can work them as a lefty, I've also found that I have dropped the knife and feel less secure using compression locks that are made for right-handed users. There's another review on RUclips and I think I'm a little bit more in line with his take then this video. ruclips.net/video/42brSV4uP6Q/видео.htmlsi=FrMxAj6ro7ohGeG-
That price will start to make sense once you use one for a few years. Their heat treatment is second to none no matter what steel the blade is made of, those ergonomics will make you hesitate grabbing another knife to slide in your pocket when you head out the door, and once you start looking into custom aftermarket parts and make it your own you might as well throw away the rest of your collection...

Me too. It's a really well built knife. Thanks for the feedback, David, good to know what my subs are carrying.
A great knife! I think you'll find over time as you use it more and more that it really is worth the money. One of my favorite Spydercos.
Thanks David. Good to know. I appreciate the support for the modern reviews. Take care.
I think the two other icons on the blade is Sal Glesser’s and Eric Glesser’s initials. The knife's designers.
Thanks for the info, James
Great knife. I have a Cruware PM2 it's fantastic.
Pretty popular model. I'm late to the game.

Yea I thought the hole was way awkward when I first laid eyes on a Spyderco blade many years ago. Now I get it. Thanks, Jeroen.
The black blade is much nicer, gives it more character, thanks for the review!
Yea, it gives is a meaner appeal. I like that for this knife. Thanks, Jose.

What'd they cost back then? This was $185. Thanks, Prop.
