gotta say as an aussie i'm a little surprised at how good this is ,which includes the feel [as smooth as,and the ability to be at one with the voice ;how many hours would that take ,on top of the extremely gifted musicality ] of the band .i thought only ella could really do this justice . but this is exceptional . this rendition is one of the GREAT ones of this classic. i hope this is recognised as the treasure it is and stored in the vault somewhere .as one of our riches to boast about and for those that come after .
AND to share with the rest of the world .
Love this! Judith's left us such a legacy.❤
There is no end to this girls vocal and piano talents. Perfection in everything she does. It is a rare talent indeed and I for one am spellbound by it.
Still a beautiful lady. Beautiful on the inside and out. The voice of an angel. What a class act.
A single program with Gershwins music like this touring around America would be enough to get her all the recognition she always deserved over there
( Beautifully) Recording jazz since she was 19.
Up for a million views for this special lady
Beautiful! Not a trace of an accent. Sung as though she came from The South (of USA). She can sing anything! George would have been impressed. God Bless Judith Durham!
Judith continues to amaze me - loved for over 50 years, in fact since 1959.
Judith and Summertime are the equal to each other, what a great lady she is. I doubt anyone can surpass her.
Great at 26 years old. Unbelievable at 66. No one can even come close to her.
I managed to see JD solo in concert twice and with The Seekers on four separate occasions. Would have LOVED to have been in the audience for THIS one!
Her voice has the smoothness of the purest silk.
Or, for this one, the finest whisky.
If I want to be happy, I need just to hear Judith singing! So beautiful!
Happy Birthday Judith - 3 July 1943 - I wish for many more years of beautiful music such as this ... may god continue to bless you
Just how good is this lady?
Still the top class singer of all time. Like a Pulman Train, a higher class than the rest
If by some magic George Gershwin were alive and listening to this, he would rise up in his chair and very passionately proclaim.....Yes!...Yes!... This is EXACTLY what I had in mind!!!
Breathtaking, as always.
That voice 💗
Oooh, lovely.
Judith can sing anything better than anyone else. I'm in awe.
just WONDERFUL!
Just fabulous liquid chocolate notes.
S'Wonderful!
Dear Judith. How was it possible for you to once believe that you were not Good Lookin. You are absolutely fabulous and always have been
A lifetime is not enough for the love you inspire Judith
RIP The Voice
Is there anything this Lady can't sing ? Sorry , silly question ,of course not .Isn't she just Wonderful ? Nicely accompanied too. Many Thanks Rich. Martin
No, I don't think there's anything she _can't_ sing. However, I think there might be some things she _wouldn't_ sing: punk and rap, for example, I suspect she might not _want_ to, even though she'd do them justice were she to try. Though some things she might not be able to do because she'd be _too good_ - some kinds of music are best done by those of limited ability.
Well Done, rich963 on the editing!
Thanks!
Another stunning vocal performance by Judith, what an amazing range she has, I think this jazz number really appeals to her style of music and one she seems perfectly suited to. Does anyone know where Wrokdown is in Australia? Thanks for this brilliant posting, sublime!
Wrokdown is/was on community TV in Melbourne. Most of the programmes are now on You tube.
Guitarist is Mike Rudd and the late Bill Putt on bass both former members of Spectrum. They had a great hit song, I'll Be Gone. Not sure of the other guys. The artist is generally interviewed on Wrokdown, look for it.
She was singing this style when she was a teen, before she joined the Seekers.
A "Spiritual Pause"!
"Summer's come. The fish are jumping."
"Story & Sound"...by Judith Durham!
Composer: George Gershwin.

You can tell she loved to sing Jazz
