It's a (golden) apple: it's yellow, but red underneath, and highlight on the sprite is white. Apples spawn from leaves which are green and so you don't see the apple even though they are all around, but not in caves or water. And leaves are broken with a hoe. You use it to cure villagers, giving you better prices, making you rich. While it is also extravagant and rich/expensive food and gives good satiety. It all fits for (golden) apple.

The bread is would make you rich and satisfied as a food source but it has little value. I think the melon block was close tho. But goats also used to breed with wheat and it would make so much sense

Imagine how Mumbo will feel when he gets back and someone is digging a hole roughly 10x the volume of his witch hut "perimeter" from a couple of seasons ago.
I've always viewed Doc as like the Doofenshmirtz of Minecraft. Not cause he's German, but because he creates these crazy amazing contraptions that sound evil, but then he's actually really sweet and is like the best dad in the world. Then Grian's Perry. Because they both always press the (self destruct) buttons.
I came from grian’s channel to see how doc managed to pull off the ghost prank, and I loved the video so I subscribed, but I wasn’t prepared for how wholesome doc is. He made my so happy when he said that Minecraft runs on the greatest graphics card, the imagination. Part of me melted.
He really is. Another cool thing I’ve noticed is his community is super wholesome. Comment section always filled with compliments, and his community is just amazing
Maybe try feeding Gary the Goat your own head? -The color fits (green, white, red) - The location fits (you're never caving or swimming) - the "not myself" part fits The only part I wonder is how he got your head... maybe he put your skin on then killed himself? I'm not gonna edit this comment so that if I end up being up right I can show this wasn't edited
The only problem is that if iskall DID use doc’s skin and then killed himself, the name would still be “Iskall’s head”, and if Doc put his own head in there it wouldn’t stack in the item filter. Maybe he killed Doc at one point and then used that head in the item filter?
Doc: Is about that eco aesthetic, routinely gets compliments from hermits in their videos on it. Also Doc: Finds a beautiful natural Taijitu, and plans to tear it down completely 13:04 LOL
12:44 look at these cool water tunnels and such. amazing new cave features. this again makes me wish the water surface had an opaque option to hide some mysteries. imagine having to go underwater to manually map the lake floor, instead of being able to see it from the surface at a glance.
wouldnt it be funny if the item Gary was looking for was actually tnt Creepers are green, sand is yellow, tnt is red and white, certainly makes you rich and satisfied
these fan art thumbnails are just insanely cool. great when a youtuber actually displays fan art to their viewers to give their creators some publicity for their amazing talents
I absolutely love the music. Jono outdid himself once again. Also watching Iskall dig stone under his mansion next to your perimeter gave me the idea that you could invite the other hermits to do their resource gathering of stone etc in your perimeter. They get the resources they would have mined elsewhere and you get free block removal.
I've only recently started watching you but I love how your reputation is all "The GOAT, he does insane redstone! Game breaking technology! Endless ghasts!" but in his videos he's also just "guys look at my lil tomato planter uwu". Unexpected but not unwelcome surprise.
Items for Gary (mostly based on their colors): - Magma Cream - Glistening Melon Slice - Poisonous Potato - Suspicious Stew - Experience pops / bottles of enchanting - Totem of Undying - Sunflower
I love so much how this episode went from beautiful landscaping complete with tomato garden to a TNT machine to destroy a massive section of the server. Always incredible to see what you get up to, Doc, and I can't wait to see how the Perimeter turns out. Cheers!
Is it an apple or a golden apple? Also, I honestly feel like the hole will reach Bedrock or Gary will run out of TNT before the right answer is found at this rate. 😆
I'm surprised no one suggested cake? It seems like one of the first thing's I would have tried. Doc is like a cartoon villain, no one should think he's actually evil.
@@davidbutler9014 ive seen items that are supposedly nonstackable get stacked, though im not sure which version that was on, and it is possible to sort for several nonstackable items. whether someone on the hermitcraft server has that knowledge or is willing to put in that effort is another question.
@@Nerazmus how would he compare the two then? Afaik there's no filter that can accommodate for both stackable and unstackable items. Other than very specific unstackable items, like with an armor stand for example.
@@paulelderson934 You are mostly correct. But we are not talking about building a sorter for every item, just a filter for the specific item. Which can be done for most things even in 1.18. But not relevant to this since,. well, everything that grows is stackable.
im absolutely loving all the building stuff this season ngl. theres Something in "game-breaking redstone god gushing over his tomato garden and plant pots" that scratches a very particular itch in my brain
I love to see the hermits pushing themselves out of their comfort zones. Looking at what Mumbo achieved in season 7 and especially season 8 really shows that just because you are more technical minded doesn't mean that you can't appreciate aesthetics too
You know, I know Doc isn't actually evil, but good arceus, he scares me sometimes. I mean honestly, anyone who would attempt to remove 861 chunks (If I did the math right) alone has to be some sort of mad scientist. As for gary the goat, Did you try wheat seeds? Not my original idea, but one that could really be the option. Wheat seeds are green, wheat is yellow, and target blocks are red and white. Wheat seeds are found by destroying grass, which is found everywhere, but it's rare enough that you need to destroy a lot of grass to find it. (I.E. hard to find). Making you full and satisfied; obviously wheat can be made into bread, which you can eat, but I also feel that in a new survival world, there's satisfaction in growing your first bit of wheat. Wheat seeds have no value of their own, but wheat can be traded with villagers, which can make you rich. Also, you can't place wheat seeds in the world (except in tilled soil) or see them in grass, so if you "go looking" for seeds, you won't find any. And, of course, you need a hoe to grow seeds.
Something that I've not seen mentioned - I believe the "I'm not in water or caves" is to do with it not being in ship wreck or dungeon or mineshaft loot. For that reason I don't think it's golden apples... No idea what it is though, perhaps "Tommy's Super Carrots" as others suggested
The carved pumpkin would also be possible: It can be used to make iron golems for farms, or to wear it and protect yourself from endermen. And you can just obtain it by finding pumpkins, but they are not naturally generated...
31:19 - "You will be rewarded for that. I will have so many diamonds when I am done with the perimeter, I will just give them away." Kinda sounding like a confidence man there, Doc...
I just realised the “poppy” technology is exactly what I need to use a machine I made, a sand machine to drain monuments with only 1-2 flying machines. Like 5 minute build each, but it wasn’t automatic because how do I get the items to the player… POPPY TECH
xB and doc are KILLING it this season right now. The best part, they are just chilling and playing the game. Not too many major beginning projects, which is nice to see. They still got big projects like all the rest, but it's cool to watch them cruise and set themselves up for the late season. Can't wait to see Scar's big projects later on too.
I am still a hundred percent sure it's a poisonous potato you can't look for it potatoes are everywhere but you hardly ever get a poisonous potato it's not at a cave it's not in water do you have to use a whole to collect potatoes and it's a very rare instance one becomes poisonous if you look at the Sprite of a poisonous potato the coloring is almost spot on.
The darker outline is red, and some highlights on the growths are white. Additionaly: Poisonous potatoes actually provide a higher satisfaction than regular (unbaked) potatoes!

Doc "I'm not evil"
Also Doc: "And for my next trick I'm going to delete all the world around me, including bedrock, for a 16 chunks radius"
No parent who spends time with their kid can ever be truly evil.
We may need to have a talk about this world eater thing though XD
I think Pablo Escobar drowned one or his servants to amuse his kids or something so... I politely disagree. :D
That isnt the world eater, He needs to remove a trench to build the real one wich is 50x bigger or more
@@halbkorn Yes I know that was the trencher. However he PLANS to build a World Eater so we can still have that "evil" talk >_>
I love how Doc always puts out movie length episodes of HermitCraft. That's why he's my favorite hermit.
I came from grian’s channel to see how doc managed to pull off the ghost prank, and I loved the video so I subscribed, but I wasn’t prepared for how wholesome doc is. He made my so happy when he said that Minecraft runs on the greatest graphics card, the imagination. Part of me melted.
Can only encourage you to watch some of his older stuff too from previous seasons. He NEVER disappoints. Dude made in the most epic way.
@@sfrausing80 absolutely, yes! I'm going back and watching his first few seasons of Hermitcraft and love it
He really is. Another cool thing I’ve noticed is his community is super wholesome. Comment section always filled with compliments, and his community is just amazing
Can i remind you, that you should watch out that when you guess the right item, the drops dont get burned by lava or something down in the hole 🐐
at this rate he will be hitting bedrock by the time we guess it
Maybe try feeding Gary the Goat your own head?
-The color fits (green, white, red)
- The location fits (you're never caving or swimming)
- the "not myself" part fits
The only part I wonder is how he got your head... maybe he put your skin on then killed himself?
I'm not gonna edit this comment so that if I end up being up right I can show this wasn't edited
The only problem is that if iskall DID use doc’s skin and then killed himself, the name would still be “Iskall’s head”, and if Doc put his own head in there it wouldn’t stack in the item filter.
Maybe he killed Doc at one point and then used that head in the item filter?
That makes sense tho
Send Gary to the dig site so he can help! He's clearly good at digging holes.
man, mumbo's gonna have his work cut out for him, with his goal of being the richest hermit and all. godspeed, mustache man
Doc: Is about that eco aesthetic, routinely gets compliments from hermits in their videos on it.
Also Doc: Finds a beautiful natural Taijitu, and plans to tear it down completely 13:04 LOL
huh it Does look like a taijitu
12:44 look at these cool water tunnels and such. amazing new cave features. this again makes me wish the water surface had an opaque option to hide some mysteries. imagine having to go underwater to manually map the lake floor, instead of being able to see it from the surface at a glance.
wouldnt it be funny if the item Gary was looking for was actually tnt
Creepers are green, sand is yellow, tnt is red and white, certainly makes you rich and satisfied
That would be funny.
But tnt has worth and the green from the creeper is a little bit random
That's a good guess I think :)
Tnt doesn't grow and u don't need a hoe for it
Doc saw the Moon destroy the Season 8 world and said "Hold my Beer"
these fan art thumbnails are just insanely cool. great when a youtuber actually displays fan art to their viewers to give their creators some publicity for their amazing talents
How could Doc be evil when he's too busy being an evil genius lol
I felt like Scar had the best perspective of the Ghasts emerging out of their hiding spot. It was only a second but it was epic!
Yes he had the perfect angle
I absolutely love the music. Jono outdid himself once again.
Also watching Iskall dig stone under his mansion next to your perimeter gave me the idea that you could invite the other hermits to do their resource gathering of stone etc in your perimeter. They get the resources they would have mined elsewhere and you get free block removal.
That's a great idea! It would be a cool stream event like Hermits Helping Hermits.
Well he would still pretty much have to do the same amount of work cause it wouldn’t change the machine size but it wouldn’t hurt
I've only recently started watching you but I love how your reputation is all "The GOAT, he does insane redstone! Game breaking technology! Endless ghasts!" but in his videos he's also just "guys look at my lil tomato planter uwu". Unexpected but not unwelcome surprise.
Items for Gary (mostly based on their colors):
- Magma Cream
- Glistening Melon Slice
- Poisonous Potato
- Suspicious Stew
- Experience pops / bottles of enchanting
- Totem of Undying
- Sunflower
I like the bottle of enchanting idea.
DocM: eco friendly, growing tomatoes, sustainable living.
Also DocM: blowing a 500 x 500 hole into the centre of the earth.
You don't have to worry about the ecology if there's no ecology to worry about.
The largest strip mine in the world is about 200 times that size in surface area, so not too bad i guess?
*Doc:* "I'm not evil."
*Also Doc:* Builds giant hell machines to destroy the world.
Yeah right 🤣 last season he had these crazy builds from The Hivemine server or even his own mind and he says he's not evil 🤣🤣🤣.
can we all agree that Doc's laughter is so unique :)
x2
maybe the TNT will destroy the Redstone going to Gary hence locking away the prize forever
I think it might be iskalls own carrots that he sells. The special ones
I would think the golden apple is a good shout! Was thinking it could be pumpkin before I saw this xD
You wont get bedrock because deepslate is blast resistant
I'm surprised no one suggested cake? It seems like one of the first thing's I would have tried.
Doc is like a cartoon villain, no one should think he's actually evil.
Doesn't it have to be a stackable item?
@@davidbutler9014 ive seen items that are supposedly nonstackable get stacked, though im not sure which version that was on, and it is possible to sort for several nonstackable items. whether someone on the hermitcraft server has that knowledge or is willing to put in that effort is another question.
@@davidbutler9014 It doesn't have to be.
Loving the solarpunk aesthetic you're going for this season tbh. Can't wait to see how this vs GigaCorp turns out
"World EATER" totally not evil :D
I love how you manage to hype up your plans and actually come through with them
Other hermits: "Doc why are you placing so much sand?"
Doc: "So I can blow it right back up"
Other hermits: ". . ."
Season 8: the moon’s gonna destroy the world!
Doc: hold my beer
44:44 diese Transition war einfach das beste XDDD Ruhig, fröhlich, beschaulich, fast ein wenig melancholisch zu totally Badass.
Doc: 53:10 "ok now we are getting a bit into the danger zone"
Me: of course! you are creating a ... ♪ highway to the danger zone!!! ♪
im absolutely loving all the building stuff this season ngl. theres Something in "game-breaking redstone god gushing over his tomato garden and plant pots" that scratches a very particular itch in my brain
Doc contains multitudes ✨✨✨
Doc, you're a sweetheart. Even when you do "evil," your awareness of the game makes it clean and reversible mayhem.
"Fluffy" - Cleo, probably
I love to see the hermits pushing themselves out of their comfort zones. Looking at what Mumbo achieved in season 7 and especially season 8 really shows that just because you are more technical minded doesn't mean that you can't appreciate aesthetics too
I always get excited for Doc's weekly feature film to come out.
Edit: three weeks later, and I was right! No one ever listens to me, Doc would have been saved a lot of stress. Instead, he got saved BY stress.
Or maybe the bananas
The carved pumpkin would also be possible: It can be used to make iron golems for farms, or to wear it and protect yourself from endermen. And you can just obtain it by finding pumpkins, but they are not naturally generated...
So it isn't a carved pumpkin.
31:19 - "You will be rewarded for that. I will have so many diamonds when I am done with the perimeter, I will just give them away."
Kinda sounding like a confidence man there, Doc...
I just realised the “poppy” technology is exactly what I need to use a machine I made, a sand machine to drain monuments with only 1-2 flying machines. Like 5 minute build each, but it wasn’t automatic because how do I get the items to the player… POPPY TECH
Oh man, a longer timelapse of the trencher in action would be so satisfying. It's already riveting to watch the TNT spew out of the duplicator.
xB and doc are KILLING it this season right now.
But then where is the red and white?
@@DreamApostle128 depends on what version of the poisonous potatoes Sprite you look at some of the Sprites have white not too sure on the red though
Yes! I said this on the first video but no one saw it.
Except poisonous potatoes are found underwater in shipwrecks.
The darker outline is red, and some highlights on the growths are white. Additionaly: Poisonous potatoes actually provide a higher satisfaction than regular (unbaked) potatoes!
Lol, that world border move had Joehills so confused when he was looking for a home for his ghosts.
