I actually found myself shedding tears from the point of Bardock and Gine sending Goku to Earth and the Saiyans being destroyed by Frieza. It hit me much differently than what the Z series showed us. When Gine says “Don’t forget us Kakarot”, I lost it.
It's the look on Goku's face as the pod starts taking off that gets me. He's just looks scared and confused looking back at his parents wondering why they're leaving, not realizing what was about to happen.
I love the fact that Goku wasn't special or extraordinarily strong by birth,he had some of the lowest power levels among saiyans,but that didn't hold him back from working hard and be the strongest fighter in the universe...
Yes, many people misunderstand bardock wish, the wish does not make Goku stronger, but ensures Radiz and Goku escape from the planet vegeta When it was blown up by freeza, Radiz is lucky to be sent with vegeta even though he is a low level fighter, Goku is lucky to escape the galactic patrol radar, and freeza just before the planet is blown up. That's the whole wish

The Saiyans were originally willingly serving in King Cold's army initially in exchange for advanced technology and promises of endless battle, only later becoming embittered when the officers and other soldiers of his army treated them as inferior, and how the partnership evolved into a subjugation that altered their reputations from being fierce warriors to being dogs of Cold and Freeza with no recognition for their victories or contributions to the empire. It's quite an interesting piece of lore. Also, slight addendum, the manga portion the Bardock stuff is based on says that Goku was actually sent off-world about a week or so before Freeza actually struck, hence why he had time to get there for that last stand and why Gine was back at work.
I’m excited to see that they fused Minus and Z Bardock because when Bardock fires his beam you can see the soldiers he fought in “Father of Goku” behind him
IRC in the original script they had Bardock fighting Freeza's soliders shown like in hte special or something, hence the battle damage on him. Cut for time.
The Broly Movie is a masterpiece without question. The animation, the fight scenes, flashbacks, emotional moments, the music, it all blends so well to create this full blown concoction of modern art. Definitely my favorite Dragon Ball movie, right in front of Fusion Reborn and Battle of Gods.
I honestly wish that some miracle happens where the upcoming DBS anime is animated in the broly movie's style sadly I know that probably wont happen as it would cost alot more money training animators to animate like that instead of in the DBS style they're used to for a whole show but it'd be so hype
I like Bardock using facts, evidence and logic to discover Frieza's true intentions, do kinda wish they showed him fighting the Frieza force in the atmosphere since we were only shown the end of his battle

Hey Aimin, Vegeta's brother's shows up in the special "Yo Son Goku and His Friends Return!" it takes place after Buu, should definitely give it a watch.
Its such a good movie man. The visuals is amazing. Loved the designs of the characters. The fights were insane. The plot and dialogue was interesting. The musical score is simply sublime and bombastic. The whole thing was good from start to finish! I also loved what they did with Broly in this one. I grew to dislike that in the original movies, they made Broly a nut with a dumbass reason for disliking Goku. Didn't help that as those earlier movies went on, that version of Broly just basically became a meme and not in a good way. Felt way worse than a Saturday morning cartoon villain. But in this version, its much better as far as character development goes. It was also nice finally seeing Goku's mother for the first time on film too. No wonder where he gets his personality from!
You’re not wrong about Freeza being scary; there’s a reason he ruled most of the known universe for a long time, there was a time in the universe where as long as Beerus was asleep, he was the top of the food chain by a large margin.

One thing that sometimes gets missed is bardock's condition when trying to fire back at Frieza's blast. He's not fresh. He's clearly damaged, armor broken and all... He was fighting well before that blast, fighting to protect his home.

I'll say this for those who haven't seen the movie yet.... u re in for a treat 😏😏😏 I must point out tho, this movie intro is a remix a of the original bardock movie... and it feels like they cut out a few scenes... u can tell that when bardock tried to counter frieza's attack he was already battle damaged - that was a call back from the original story, where he actually fought frieza's army on his own trying to kill him. He was on his own cuz none if the saiyans believed him.....furthermore, his motive for rebelling is completely different. I m not gonna spoil that for u guys tho, u can look it up urselves 😊

This movie really put so many new ideas things could have really went that truly could have put DBZ on a whole new level us fan's would have been super crazy about one thing for sure Goku mom's should have went with him and when the planet blow up they showed us that Vegeta and Nappa and Raditz had others saiyans around them what happen to them

I'll say this for those who haven't seen the movie yet.... u re in for a treat 😏😏😏
I must point out tho, this movie intro is a remix a of the original bardock movie... and it feels like they cut out a few scenes... u can tell that when bardock tried to counter frieza's attack he was already battle damaged - that was a call back from the original story, where he actually fought frieza's army on his own trying to kill him. He was on his own cuz none if the saiyans believed him.....furthermore, his motive for rebelling is completely different. I m not gonna spoil that for u guys tho, u can look it up urselves 😊
