In the Marine corps we call it creating muscle memory. We repeat the same thing over and over to create a habit.thank you for the channel and for all the good tips. God bless.
I don't know where I heard/read this, but I remember someone saying they visualize a previous fight/sparring session, and they try to do "things differently" like avoiding a punch or using the jab more or little details like that, all of this while using the keys seen here. Great video.
Shadow boxing is something to me anyway that sets your foundation on how good or shitty your going to be. If you can't visualize your own fight while shadow boxing that means you won't be able to think in the fly and fight. I started myself off shadow boxing in a mirror I studied what a 1 and a 2 is I studied some combos some defense head movements and then when I felt comfortable I bought a light 80lbs heavy bag and started punching that ole girl adding to my skills. I hate saying skills I'm not skilled I train boxing because I love it and it's an avenue for me to let out extra energy and aggression in a safe legal healthy manner. Anyway back to my point I started myself off at the lowest of low and worked up,,,, I have discipline and integrity I will never cheat myself I spent 9 years in the army so I know how to push and keep going and being honest with myself but I wish I hada gym and a coach at times because it would be awesome to have someone critique me and give me constructive criticism on what I need improvement on. Love this channel love it
These shadow boxing tutorials of yours have been a godsend. Between the lockdown and being too lazy to go running, these tips have been helping keep me at least somewhat active at home and get at least some form of cardio in throughout the week. Thanks!
Very good video!!!! GEMS!!!!!!thank you for that one and all you do. I will use all 6 of those on the heavy bag too not only shadow boxing. But I was impressed by the quality importants of the content your teaching in this video, I think every boxer should see and apply this knowledge, and even use these 6 things in all that it could be applied to In training, hitting the heavybag, drills, etc.... thanks to coach Anthony
I believe visualization can burn more calories than the movement itself and is the most difficult part about shadow boxing, too. Randomly throwing punches or blocking is simple. But imagining an opponent trying to beat you up is really hard work for the brain.
Thx for the video coach. The visualizing part is really starting to make sense after sparring a few times as well. It was hard to visualize when I never been in a fight in ages.
Thabks for putting the advertisement at the end coach i felt so much more engaged in this video when you put forth that "Its time for you to learn mofo" energy at the start.
Andre Ward's game plan for the Kovalev rematch all came from his shadow Boxing. He literally shadow boxed everything he would implement in the fight. As we saw, it paid off!
COACH ANT. BIG TIME MOTIVATION VIDEO RIGHT HERE!! You have to have an imagination with this stuff, and you help me definitely to understand that and why and HOW!💪🥊👍🥊💪💪💪
Love #6. As a realist, I'm probably gonna get hit in a fight. Should I also visualize getting hit and simulating how to react to it? Or am I visualizing positive where I'm never getting hit? Also, what do you recommend: Shadowboxing in front of a mirror? Or in front of a camera? Or both?

Coach, how do we get charisma like you? Tutorial please. Naw but thanks for another good vid :D
Im 17 and about 5’4 or 5’5 and I weigh 142 but I’m strong 💪🏾 and buff but I want to learn how to box. Where do I start?
Why the thumbs down ?
Because it feels more natural when someone is infront of you
Coach, can I slip a right hand a pivot to throw a right uppercut
I'll make a video !
@@CoachAnthonyBoxing thnks coach
can you shadow with an opponent?
What do you think about shadowboxing in front of a miror?
I love it
coach I struggle with keeping my aggression up when i shadow box and following through fully on my punches. how can i improve this?
Love #6. As a realist, I'm probably gonna get hit in a fight. Should I also visualize getting hit and simulating how to react to it? Or am I visualizing positive where I'm never getting hit?
Also, what do you recommend: Shadowboxing in front of a mirror? Or in front of a camera? Or both?
When you shadow box you're visualizing the actual boxer boxing with you. So use what you know or implement new things
Yesssirrr

Coach, would you say head movement is reactive or proactive or both? Sometimes I find it hard to have the reflexes to have great headmovement.
I'll make a video champ
@@CoachAnthonyBoxing thank you coach!
What's your thoughts on shadow boxing and just training with your mouthpiece in?
Repeat this question champ
@@CoachAnthonyBoxing is it beneficial to shadow box with a mouth piece in? Because of breathing purposes, in order to get use to it.
I thought the 6th was breathing!!
Coach Anthony I would like to know your location your number and what are your prices for training at 12 you’ll

Shadowboxing is the most frustrating part of training for me. I just really don't get it.
