I used to suffer from anxiety and depression and these videos have helped me more than any medicine or therapy ever have. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and giving such relatable talks.
Being depressed over being depressed. What a truism. I know depression but this insight has helped me work positively toward a light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you thank you
I have had a habit of falling for Narcissists and Sociopaths and have been trying to find a way to stop this. I finally decided that the problem lies within me and figured out that I am codependent. I am so glad to have found you to help me unravel my own personality flaws and improve my life. Thank you.
Dear BSWA, dear Ajahn Brahm, I find the talks you give so inspirational and really having an impact on my life. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us! I am also grateful to livning in times of youtube and the internet and everybody who helped to make it possible that me - lonely budhist in a not so budhist society - could come in touch with a master teaching from the other end of the globe (literally - Australia! Gee! ;) I recommended these talks to a friend who also took much delight and inspiration to growth in them. Recently I talked with a friend who had just suffered from a great setback in her career. I so much would have liked to show her the balm of Ajahn Brahms words on loosing and especially on failing exams! :) Unfortunatly she doesn't understand English that well. I believe she and many other native German speakers would benefit greatly from your talks if only they could understand them. So my idea was to translate one or two so the translation could work as subtitles on youtube. However it seems that only you, the holder of the video can add subtitles. Would you care for a translation and add it if it deemed you of substantial quality as subtitles? I am not a professional or even professionally trained translator however. If you don't I certainly will not be offended or disapointed. My deepest sentiment towards you is gratitude! Thank you so much for giving me and so many others your kind guidance! warmest regards from Germany, Frank
Frank Z. There must be a few Buddhist centres in Germany by now. Hope you found one you are comfortable with. I see a shift. Buddhism is spreading in the West while Christianity is gaining ground in the East. How ironic. Their evangelistic nature to convert ppl is very strong. And yes, I am also grateful to You tube. It is also how i discovered Ajahm Brahm and his wisdom. Sadhu, Sadhu, Sadhu.
250,000 views, man. On the one hand, I want Ajahn Brahm to be special, a well-kept secret. On the other, I can only imagine how many of those people he has helped, not just with this talk but with the entirety of his Dhamma teaching. I am just one of those people. Just one of those 250,000.
Thank you so much for posting these. I sent this to my mom who is a born again Christian. She says she is watching and I am hoping Ajahn Brahm's words might help her. I read some Sutra to my dad before he passed away in ICU, because Pappa really appreciated Buddhism and even meditated with me. My mom told me to put those evil things away and wouldn't let me go near my dad. I didn't get to see him die. It really hurt
@FullyUnforbidden I agree, every one of these videos is so awakening to me and I watch one every time I'm facing a big problem and need some perspective.
I enjoy listening to these podcast he explains what we all forget love positive be kind gentle we need all need to be like this peace meditation I am learning how to it's a learning practice...
Ajahm Brahm has taught me a lot about the real meaning of life...being kínd and trying the best possible to meditate to relax our mind...and to get rid of fear and anger...bless you Ajahn Brahm
Thank you so much for your words which help me so much. I listen daily to your talks. Because I really want to learn to apply them constantly. Especially in difficult times instead of falling again in old habits. But I am confident I will with your help.
Shadu, Shadu, Shadu. Y grácias por compartir traducciones de Ajahn Brahm al español. Dichosa de comprender. Paz y felicidad para todos los seres sintientes de este mundo.
I am dealing with my emotions, Nam MYOHO REGE KYO,living in this emotional world being oura control for so long wow, not easy...I will not give up.... never..ever.The forces I will not give them power over me...
i am trying to control my emotions with your talks as well as medication and creativity, really i think that your talks make me a true buddhist, i believe in controlling my emotions by not doing the Australian thing, and i am trying to learn by your talks on how to be a true buddhist in this christian Australian culture, keep it up
you know, i really love these talks that you have, because i got a mental illness from that, and you taught me that i can be relaxed and cool and try and tackle my emotions head on, because since him i did some stupid things that really made people upset like i hit a man in the club because he was being a jerk, but now i realise that isn't the way, my friend is a non emotional man, not me, and while he has a beet, i listen to your inspirational stories of how to control emotions
Thank you ,sathu. I am glad to be Buddhist. Buddha's teaching helps me understand life better. Virtue, mindfulness and wisdom are cores indeed. I would keep practicing for my peaceful spirit.
i watched him at the talkshow in bogor last saturday night..he was so amazing for me altough i'm catholic..he is the coolest monk i ever met..love you ajahn brahm..lets go ego..i reading your book worm and his beloved shit2..soooooooo peacefull my heart..go brahmmmm....
i cant thank enough for what buddhism bring to my life and change my entire life...i feel very peaceful, but i also really want to help other people in my family, friends to feel the same and put down all unnesscessary pain in life and to be peaceful too,but i dont know how and find it hard to do it coz most of them just so attch to the current of life so that they dont even listen to me and let me share it with them :(
My condolences to you and your family. We can keep each other in good thoughts. I listened to the Hindi song from 1957 on your channel. I cried. The words were so my dad's life. The song says he asked for flower buds and received multitude of thorns instead, and he doesn't know who those people might be who receive love when they ask for love. It is about suffering in life and few that are lucky not to suffer.
Such a nice and calming talk. I have been going through turmoil in my life and not dealing well with it. The story of crying over the moon at the end was so funny yet so insightful.
Ajahn Brahn, thank you so much for posting these online....I am going through some really disturbing and sad times and these sessions are helping me tremendously. As a Christian I wish that God will bless you always...Your kindness, generosity, compassion, and love exude from your being...hopefully one day I can meet you in person... I live in the USA, I will try to find out if you will be traveling this way anytime soon....again, thank you
Respected Ajahn Brahm🙏 I do agree with be calm helps calm another. But in dire situations I can see an agrivated person either leaving or pushing your food away in anger🙊
I thank you so much for this talk! I become very depressed sometimes as I must read information daily about very cruel treatments (esp of animals). I was feeling quite sad today and found your talk...thank you so much it helped me a quite a bit to change the depression around. Thank you.
there's nothing wrong with grieving the loss of someone you love. my mother wanted people to celebrate our life together. With my mother togetherness was more than just a cliche. everyone was valued and welcome.
yes, i love watching these videos of buddhism because when i was a kid my only friend was too shy to express his emotions, his only way to express his emotions was with his fists and his very loud angry voice, and every time i did something like a normal kid would do in the same situation as me, he would say to me, our friendship is finished, because he was intellectualy challenged by his emotions, actually i don't even think he had emotions,
Ajahn Brahm is British... so he sometimes, not always, but sometimes travels to UK. Also, if you have group of Buddhist who would like to invite him to Europe, you can do that. In Canada for example, a Sri Lankan Buddhist group sponsored him to come to Canada. They arranged from travel documents to place to stay in Canada. So, if you have a large Buddhist community in Europe, you can invite him and Aj Brahm will be more than happy to come and pay a visit.
Yes it t's great Dhamma talked. I am thai and I was afraid of ghost . I am not afraid of it right now. Thank you Ajahn Brahm. You are right to said that about thai ppl afriad of ghost. lol Thank you indeed
The gamut of emotions we experience means it is what it is - we ought not change who we are - but manage our emotions - Indeed, to cry for others can be an expression of happiness - even though this seems counter intuitive - indeed if crying is what wells up - that can represent a deep seeded love for someone - Anger on the other hand comes from fear - again fear is okay - but it too needs to be managed - To be angry at an injustice can help 'concentrate the mind - progress of a sort ' - reality
A dhamma talk a day keeps the stress away.
And one by Ajahn Brahm leaves you smiling, uplifted and embracing all possibilities.
Thank you
I used to suffer from anxiety and depression and these videos have helped me more than any medicine or therapy ever have. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and giving such relatable talks.

One of the many beneficial ways of using youtube.
It's a nice way for us, who don't have the sangha available, to share the dhamma in a closer way.
I feel so calm
just by hearing him speak
negative emotions/fault finding mind, so true and such a teaching in few words.
Being depressed over being depressed. What a truism. I know depression but this insight has helped me work positively toward a light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you thank you
