  • A penetrating look at how we react to criticism both when furnishing it on others and (at once more challenging) receiving it ourselves. Why are we often so hardened and totally stuck in our views and perceptions when softness of mind can yield much larger fruit?

Sanity for humanity in a brown robe with a smile, some jokes(!) and much wisdom for all of us.
Thank you Buddhist Society of Western Australia for the gift of The Dhamma and Ajahn Brahm.

Incendiary!!! I know one non-religious fellowship in particular that really needs to hear this talk because they're always "right".

I'm resistant to change because I'm sorry but I never found anything better than my love for Mother Mary and Jesus. However I do have great respect for Buddhism and I also listen to your speech which is inspiring.

The two types of faith: The one that bends the facts to fit the faith; the one that bends the faith (WOW) (TRUTH) to fit the facts! YES. Ages ago I read a saying: God is truth. Tell the truth and run. (I've never quite fixed on what it means but I love it.)

+hiso ksila Love isn't by definition something you should understand. When love is lost; love hates. When love is lust; love takes. When Love is lie it fakes. When love is trust it saves. When love is dust it graves. When Love is strong it braves, When love is life creating you for love to have its way.

@6982able I agree that the key thing is to be specific & criticise the individual action / idea, not the whole person with a generalized, exaggerated name calling. Comment on the specific point in terms of your emotions / feelings about it. It is a matter of low resolution / higher resolution comment. Not " I hate you " rather " I hate what you did , that you did that ", Not "you fool " rather " I think that point you made was false." See Robert M Price,' The reason driven life'
