I had a couple paper routes as a kid so I never got to watch the show much after school so stadium is how I learned what most of them actually looked like compared to gen 1 sprites
One thing a friend and I would do would generate 6 random numbers between 1-251 each, re-rolling on legendaries, and would do a 3v3 battle with what we could salvage from the rental teams. I would love to be able to do something similar for modern pokemon
How do you not have as many views as I thought you would? This is so well made and is just really enjoyable to watch. I think I've found a new favourite channel.
I know, I didn't even realize til it was already out 😔 Also did you know that he also the va for Giovanni? It's pretty funny cause he never pronounces his name right in game, it's really funny 👌
Pokemon Stadium and 2 was my time, I even worked pretty hard as a kid to earn Stadium 2. It was easily one of the best reasons to have an N64 that wasn't Mario or Zelda or Goldeneye. It was really hard, I will never, ever deny that but I have pretty good memories playing it on the weekend casually. If anything, if you're gonna emulate the game anyways, there is a good ROM hack that makes the rentals a lot more usable even though that literally means using Rest -> Sleep Talk Snorlax for most of the modes. And I 100% agree, anyone who is interested in the Stadium games can just skip to 2 simply because of how much better visually and content wise it is. The N64 was a pretty good console and the detail and effects of the visuals of PS2 shows this so well.
regarding status conditions in stadium: in stadium 2 (not sure if this is also the case for stadium 1), the ai doesnt cheat regarding higher chances to status or anything, BUT it does know ahead of time whether a move with a random special effect will proc that effect and will, for instance, intentionally go for ancient power if it knows itll get the stat boost or ice beam if it knows itll get the freeze also you getting outsped out of nowhere might be quick claw procs
Well I hope I didn't spoil your experince with Staduim Zero. Even if I found it kinda bad, it's still very interesting as the first attempt at 3D Pokemon. Especially with the minor changes in the pokemon models between this and Stadium 1. 😅
