So why is this site so significant to Palestinians and how has it become a symbol of their resistance?

I went to Jerusalem in late 2018. I visited the al-Aqsa complex and prayed in both the al-Aqsa mosque and the Dome of the Rock. It was one of those moments in life when you exquisitely feel the completeness and that life is so beautiful because I've had the chance and able to see this holy place. And if God's willing, I will come for a visit again. Insya Allah!

To all my Muslim brothers, who claim to love and respect the word of God, there are many of you who oppose and do not recognize the right of the Israelites to the Holy Land.
Many of you claim that the Jewish children of Israel do not belong here, and they have no right to return to the Holy Land.
How do you say such a thing when the prophet himself says in the Quran at least 4 times .
that this land was given to the Israelites.
On the other hand, the Quran does not say even once that the Holy Land was given to the Arabs or Bnei Ismail.
So anyone who truly believes in the prophet and the word of God, must accept and acknowledge this right.
Especially when the prophet also says that the Israelites will return to their land.
إلى جميع إخواني المسلمين ، الذين يدعون أنهم يحبون كلمة الله ويحترمونها ، هناك الكثير منكم ممن يعارضون ولا يعترفون بحق بني إسرائيل في الأرض المقدسة. يدعي الكثير منكم أن أطفال إسرائيل اليهود لا ينتمون إلى هنا ، وليس لهم الحق في العودة إلى الأرض المقدسة. كيف تقول مثل هذا الشيء؟ عندما سئل ، قال هو نفسه في القرآن 4 مرات على الأقل صراحة أن هذه الأرض قد أعطيت لبني إسرائيل. من ناحية أخرى ، لم يذكر القرآن ولو مرة واحدة أن الأرض المقدسة قد أعطيت للعرب. لذلك يجب على أي شخص يؤمن حقًا بالنبي وبكلمة الله أن يقبل هذا الحق ويعترف به. كما يقول النبي صراحةً أن الإسرائيليين سيعودون إلى أرضهم.

Surah 5
21 “O my people, enter the Holy Land which God has assigned for you, and do not turn back, lest you return as losers.”
٢١ يَا قَوْمِ ادْخُلُوا الْأَرْضَ الْمُقَدَّسَةَ الَّتِي كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ وَلَا تَرْتَدُّوا عَلَىٰ أَدْبَارِكُمْ فَتَنْقَلِبُوا خَاسِرِينَ
Surah 7
137 And We made the oppressed people inherit the eastern and western parts of the land, which We had blessed. Thus the fair promise of your Lord to the Children of Israel was fulfilled, because of their endurance. And We destroyed what Pharaoh and his people had built, and what they had harvested.
١٣٧ وَأَوْرَثْنَا الْقَوْمَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا يُسْتَضْعَفُونَ مَشَارِقَ الْأَرْضِ وَمَغَارِبَهَا الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا ۖ وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ الْحُسْنَىٰ عَلَىٰ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا ۖ وَدَمَّرْنَا مَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ فِرْعَوْنُ وَقَوْمُهُ وَمَا كَانُوا يَعْرِشُونَ
Surah 10
93 And We settled the Children of Israel in a position of honor, and provided them with good things. They did not differ until knowledge came to them. Your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection regarding their differences.
94 If you are in doubt about what We revealed to you, ask those who read the Scripture before you. The truth has come to you from your Lord, so do not be of those who doubt.
95 And do not be of those who deny God’s revelations, lest you become one of the losers.
٩٣ وَلَقَدْ بَوَّأْنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مُبَوَّأَ صِدْقٍ وَرَزَقْنَاهُمْ مِنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ فَمَا اخْتَلَفُوا حَتَّىٰ جَاءَهُمُ الْعِلْمُ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْضِي بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ
٩٤ فَإِنْ كُنْتَ فِي شَكٍّ مِمَّا أَنْزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ فَاسْأَلِ الَّذِينَ يَقْرَءُونَ الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ ۚ لَقَدْ جَاءَكَ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُمْتَرِينَ
٩٥ وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
Surah 17
104 After him, We said to the Children of Israel, “Inhabit the land, and when the promise of the Hereafter arrives, We will bring you all together.”
105 With the truth We sent it down, and with the truth it descended. We sent you only as a bearer of good news and a warner.
١٠٤ وَقُلْنَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِ لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ اسْكُنُوا الْأَرْضَ فَإِذَا جَاءَ وَعْدُ الْآخِرَةِ جِئْنَا بِكُمْ لَفِيفًا
١٠٥ وَبِالْحَقِّ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ وَبِالْحَقِّ نَزَلَ ۗ وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا مُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا
So , tell me my Muslims brothers, if you really respect your Quran that you call him words of Allah.
How can you deny the Allah words.
If Allah said that this land is promised to Israel.
You must respect that.
You can not be good Muslims if you don't fulfill the hole Quran.
Today many Muslims around the world saying that we Benei Israel, never been in the Holy Land, and we have to get out of it.
So, just if you think so, you must know that you don't real Muslim.
You can not pray to Allah, and don’t accept his words.
لذا ، أخبروني إخواني المسلمين ، إذا كنتم تحترمون قرآنكم حقًا ، فأنتم تسمونه كلام الله.
كيف تنكر كلام الله.
إذا قال الله أن هذه الأرض موعودة لإسرائيل.
يجب أن تحترم ذلك.
لا يمكنك أن تكون مسلماً صالحاً إذا لم تستوفي القرآن الكريم.
اليوم ، يقول العديد من المسلمين حول العالم أننا ، بني إسرائيل ، لم نكن قط في الأرض المقدسة ، وعلينا أن نخرج منها.

Who says Muslims don't recognize Jews once lived in Israel and they are bani israel?? ..Muslims know that and believes in that....but after corruption made by Jews on the land and disregarding of Jesus(pbuh) by them.. Almighty gave new revelation as Islam and promised the land to the muslims when last noble prophet (pbuh) took journey of heaven from jerusalam...still Muslims kings after conquering Jerusalam always allowed the Jews to live in that holy land peacefully and accepted them when those Jews were thrown out from rest of the world....but after ottomon the land slowly was being snatched from Muslims...which is not right....Muslims never had a problem with Jews living there..but Jews, if they start to claim whole land and try to remove Al aksa then they should know that not only them but Muslims too have right on that land as Allah commanded....and this will never going to happen ..they will have to face lot of problems after this ..
The temple is in your head not in real estate, not in rocks. The creator commands us to love our neighbor and care for each other not fight over insanity!

The root cause of the problem is Islam. Would a god be so stupid to create this conflict in the 1st place knowing that the place has already been promised to the Jews centuries ago? Claiming allah to be a god is highly suspicious. Think. In order to believe in Islam, one has to believe that God failed to protect the earlier scriptures from corruption, wasted all those decades performing tons of miracles with the Jews only to dump them for the Arabs, sending prophets after prophets only to finally get it right with Islam's Muhammad(pbuh) and suddenly unable to turn Himself into a man despite having done so earlier in the Old Testament. REALLY ??? You basically crafted a dysfunctional and short sighted being that reneged on its promise as a god and then called a man who reeked of crimes and immoral acts in his own religious biographies (sahih hadis) as its prophet that is now sending its followers to their doom committing martyrdoms to defend these flip flops and lapses. And this is Great? SeriousLY? Omg.... Thats a bloody Scam Job. And their people are fighting over this? Get Out Of Here.

Judaism was the first Abrahamic religion , Islam is the third and last Abrahamic religion. This is the single most important spot in the world for the Jews whose history there predates all other nations and religions by far and yet are somehow not allowed to respectfully pray there? I hope one day this sacred spot can be shared among all people. Anyone who comes in peace from any religion, culture or heritage should be allowed to pray here. Also, it would be nice for the Waqf to allow excavations, imagine all the most stunning artifacts on earth waiting to be discovered from Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Roman and all other eras in between. Jerusalem is not mentioned in the Quran even once. In the Torah, it is mentioned more than 600 times. It was a Jewish city and home to the Jewish temple more than 1,000 years before Muhammad (pbuh) was even born. I know to who the city belongs.

Once truth is placed in it's proper timeline. And a hefty dose of humility is applied. The dome of the rock controversy will be resolved speedily.
But what do I know. Truth and humility are scarce.
Interesting, but mildly biased. The site was the location of the second Jewish temple, until 70CE, although little is known about the first temple (other than the information in the Jewish bible). It is also important to note that after 1967 Jews visited the site often, but not religious Jews, as some religious rabbis believe it is forbidden. Although still held by many rabbis, this position has started to erode, and now there are many religious Jews visiting the site. That is the main change. As they are not just visiting, but also aspiring to pray there (something Israel has so far did not allow), it is seen by Palestinians as a break from the status quo. The Palestinians have made the site a national symbol, and are using it as a way to rally support to their cause from Muslim countries. It certainly looks like we are heading into another war in the region, as both sides will use the site as their banner.
Don't get afraid of any war like situation a there. MBS King of Saudi Arabia is also fed up with Palestinian's victim card play as the world is watching for so long, always Hamas and Howthi, Haqqani groups bind over one another, keep doing terror attacks on innocent people of Israel.

Well I'm an American Christian of Muslim ancestry and I have never been permitted to worship there. Jordan (which is the east bank of Palestine) illegally annexed Jerusalem in 1950 and destroyed every synagogue in the city. The Jews voted for peace and coexistence with the Palestinians prior to Independence but the Palestinians rejected peace and chose continuous war. But Allah has given victory to the Jews and brought them back to their land and as both the Bible and Quran say. So it is clear that Allah had rewarded those who chose peace over hatred!! Surah 10
93 And We settled the Children of Israel in a position of honor, and provided them with good things. They did not differ until knowledge came to them. Your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection regarding their differences.
94 If you are in doubt about what We revealed to you, ask those who read the Scripture before you. The truth has come to you from your Lord, so do not be of those who doubt.
95 And do not be of those who deny God’s revelations, lest you become one of the losers.

2. The Holy Land is mentioned in the Bible thousands of times, and Jerusalem itself, what you call Al Quds, is specifically mentioned in the Bible 800 times.

The interpretation of the verse in the Koran as a night journey to Jerusalem began during the time of the Umayyad ruler, Abd al-Malak ben Marwan.

As muslims, we need to reinstate the caliphate for the ummah. The OIC should spawn the caliphate and share power equally with rotating leadership. Only with organization of the ummah can we truly reinstate palestinian statehood. If we are selfish and biased, we will lose Palestine. This’ll cause a ripple effect and autonomy of Muslim states that’ll have untold consequences.
When was there ever a Caliphate in history that ruled from Morocco to Indonesia? The Muslim world has always had diverse rulerships, cultures and histories. That won't change now. Palestinians need to struggle for their land. They need to unite.
