You are so right that Christmas isn't about gifts. Our family has dwindled down to my 74 yo sister and 69 yo me. She has excruciating leg ulcers that won't heal, and I have stage 4 C in my spine and hips. She is so sad that neither of us are able to decorate our places or cook big meals. I reminded her that we can still listen & sing along to decades of happy holiday music, watch wonderful holiday movies and TV shows, simmer a pan of cinnamon, cloves and orange peel to fragrance our places, talk with each other any time we want, and brown bag a sandwich meal to spend a few hours together. It's all about relatives, friends, memories and faith.
You have a beautiful attitude Nancy and therefore you are a lovely person. I see you on other channels too. I hope you both enjoy some of the holiday season together and share lots of good time together leaning on each other. Big hugs to you dear lady 🤗💐👯♀️✨🌟
I was just telling my two kids the same thing tonight. They were saying how they can’t afford many gifts this year because of temporary financial situations. I told them that all I want for Xmas is to have a day where we are all together. I’m actually in the process of downsizing myself so we don’t need more stuff.
Many blessings to you and your sister Miss Nancy. Those are such beautiful options to think about and offer up. It is what really matters over any gift that could be purchased.
It’s nobody’s business how many sq ft your house is. I hate that people feel like it’s their right to tell other people how to live. I’m thrilled I found you & that you take us along for the ride.
Dude, sometimes I wonder what planet you are from. You may be one of the only people I know of that can figure things out, react as needed, the jump up and charge forward at full speed. You inspire me. Thank you. Really.
Your humble beginnings (for both you and Melissa) have taught you a great work ethic, to have compassion for others, to use things but value people, and to have the tenacity to follow through to achieve your goals, even when obstacles arise. Perhaps what is most important is that you are modelling and teaching (by example and through encouragement) these core values to your children and, to a lesser degree, to your viewers. Well done. You have not let others define you, or limit you. You will make mistakes but they do not define you either. You are leaving a legacy, Alexander and Melissa. May God bless and guide you on your life journey!
You do you Alex and family. You and Melissa have built an amazing life for yourselves and for your beautiful children. People who feel the need to dictate to you what you should do or comment on how you look are missing something in their lives. You’re a smart dude, you work hard and people need to kindly shaddup☺️
I don't understand all of the people who seem to live solely on criticizing everyone on line. I wonder if their lives are so empty and bitter that it makes them better about themselves. Do what makes you feel good, what makes you happy, it seems to benifit everyone.
Right with you Joel. Sometimes I think some people just dont want to be happy, maybe they are jealous, or upset they never achieved their goals? I will never understand them at all.
I always feel bad when you tubers feel they have to justify what they do and that crazy folks sit anonymously behind their keyboard question your decisions. I am always impressed how goal oriented you are. They aren’t goals just for you. You have accomplished so much for yourself, your family and the community. You give so much of yourself to everyone. I love watching all the adventures you go on and please keep being you!
I see youtube as a global Tv not a place to mock creators if it wasn't for creators most of Yt wouldn't exist, I watch this channel as is entertaining, funny and educational.
I think you would be a good teacher for a course on Entrepreneurship. You have direct hands on experience and are very personable and I think people could relate well to you. I admire all your hard work to achieve the goals you have accomplished. Kudos to all your hard work.
I love the way Alexander is able to "go with the flow" and sees his dreams morph into very positive outcomes. What a wonderful role model for us all! Life isn't always fair, but Alex shows us it can still be good. ❤
This is a lovely heartfelt video full of honesty ...thoughtfulness for your families future...its full of love...truth...your a hardworking decent man...husband and father...dont ever change...
I was uprooted many times growing up. I too, worked from age 9, to help put food on the table. Living with a pathological liar, and abusive alcoholic made for a tough beginning. It was difficult, to not only make any friends, but keep them. I have made all the goals I set as an adult. I’m not finished yet! I love the enthusiasm for the life you desire!
I wonder if you and Melissa fully understand how much you bring to the lives of those of us who follow you. You two are incredible and have introduced us to people like Hans and his partner, Josh and his brother and wife plus the regulars at your shop who visit you on a regular basis. So, please keep doing what you are doing. If you ever get bored, figure out a filter that throws the haters out before you ever see them!!
It’s true, people are so bloody critical it’s so annoying. There’s an old saying you really shouldn’t say anything until you walked a mile in somebody’s shoes. I think that saying needs to be resurrected - you go Alex!
Well said Lori! Another old saying," if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all! " people need to show respect to one another and especially this wonderful family. Thank you Alex for all the joy you have brought so many!
You are a teacher, mentor, organizer type, the sky's the limit if you ever wanted to branch out with your positive creativity. This world sure needs people like you!♥♥♥
My only advice is ignore the haters. You are doing wonderful! You have a happy family , a very nice shop and career. I love your channel. Last March when the world fell apart, your channel was a little ray of sunshine. God Bless you and your family. :)
I sure hope you do read some of these comments. Because, Alex, you are truly an inspiration. It's you're life, and you're family and I am thankful that you decided to share that with me.
Seeing your kids have things and experiences you couldn't as a child gives a kind of closure. I couldn't afford to go to prom, so seeing my girls in their prom dresses meant everything to me. I get it Alex.
Don’t listen to the people that want to bring you down, they aren’t worth the time or space!!! Your building a home that’s beautiful and your family will love and enjoy it!!
Thank you so much for your positive and inspiring message. I really needed this right now, as I struggle to get rid of "things" in order to downsize in retirement. We'll be moving in about six months and I have WAYyyyyyyyy too much "stuff". It is time for me to let go and let someone else enjoy them, rather than keeping them all in boxes I never look into. Thank you so much for your message!
I’ve never met anyone with a more flexible mind than yours. It’s a gift to look at something and see potential, and then to work out the steps to make something happen. Even frustrations don’t stand a chance for long. Go get ‘em!
I love your philosophy regarding possessions. You share real wisdom. Teachers who say negative things to children are foolish. It's so much better to encourage a child to reach for the stars. They may not reach those heights, but they will make strides in that direction.
I discovered your channel 20 months ago when lock down started . It is one of three I still keep up with now that school is back in session . All three are just wholesome content. You will reach your goals!
Alex, you're right on time with the subject of this video. I've been struggling a bit as of late. If I've had a particularly trying day I remind myself that tomorrow is another chance at a fresh start and a fresh mind. Stay positive people! Peace be with you.
Thanks for sharing your adventure of building your dream house. I was in your season two years ago in doing a total renovation/remodel of a 1888 house. We used a lot of green construction products to increase the energy savings. The best decision was installing solar and have zero footprint and no electric bills.
Alex still has that large picnic table out front, where customers can enjoy their refreshments. It's not a year-round option, but it's a good thing for those who were asking about tables & chairs.
I can't believe how 'un-entrepreneurial" Edmonton has become since the days when my husband & I used to live there back in the 70s and early 80s. I wish you all the best and am so excited for your new home and business!
My high school guidance counselor told me to apply for a job at the local shirt factory when I graduated. I think I went to *college* just to show him. One day I walked into his office as a social worker with one of his students, and he did a double-take! That was pretty satisfying.
Similar thing with my daughter. Counselor suggested she be a lifeguard; well, she is RN at the largest children’s hospital in her state. She is now a nursing supervisor.
My guidance counselor told me to take 2 years of typing because secretarial work would be all I could get and that 'people like me didn't go to college.'
I was impressed when you said you are building a house for your future grandchildren. We built our dream home 5 years ago in our 40's on our acreage. We have worked hard both in personal jobs and running our moto track business, we always get criticism on why did you build a large home? My answer has always been, we have both worked very hard for not just us but our family! We have 5 kids, and at the time 3 grandchildren, I always wanted my kids to know they had a home to come to for what ever reason! In the last 5 years since we have moved in we have had to take a few of those kids and grandchildren in because of hard times. And our ever growing family of now 7.5 grandchildren always come home to Dad and Mom, Grandpa and Grandma. Family is number 1! Your talk was very inspiring! Thank you!! Keep doing what your doing, you are teaching your kids great values!
Alex, thank you for sharing your life with us. Please know you don’t have to justify yourself and your decisions. To anyone, least of all strangers on RUclips. I’m sorry some people just have nothing better to do than criticise.
"I like breathing life back into things"....beautiful quote for the day. I'll be carrying that one with me for awhile. So much in this video I needed to hear, I'll have to watch it again.
I love your adventures Alex. My mother always taught me “If you can’t say anything nice, then don’t say anything at all”. It is better to be kind than nasty. Sending love and good wishes to you and your beautiful family 🙂😊😘
So glad to hear you left room for a wheelchair lift. Most people do think of needing one, but they aren't aware of other needs. After dealing with terminally ill family members, I have some advise for you: Make your interior doors wider than standard to accommodate a wheelchair or power chair, include a tall toilet fixture in your bathroom, drop your shower pan down before tiling to insure a wheelchair can roll into the shower, include a large bench seat & grab bars in the shower. If possible have a vanity that has an open space for chair accessibility. Trust me, these things will be much cheaper to do as part of the construction. I found from experience how expensive it was to widen doors and remodel a bathroom. I pray you will never need those things, but most of us do get old and infirm. Good luck with the build. I look forward to seeing each update.
Love your channel. Thank you for sharing not only the shop and antiques, but also sharing your family and life! I look forward to your videos. When I am having a bad day, coming to your channel and watching you house or seeing a clean out is very relaxing. As for your house.. its beautiful! Don't let anyone get you down! Build the house your family needs and dreams of!
Thank you for sharing your life & family. Please know you’ve touched so many lives thru your videos with your positive & humble outlook… it is so refreshing. I’m proud to say I have 3 beautiful adult children with the same outlook. Maybe that’s why I’m drawn to your channel 😊
Exactty. They are not oppisites. And dreams are not pointless and a life of relentless goals may mean you focus on goals so much you don't participate in the beautiful moments of life being fully present to the people in front of you. Dreams can inspire many people and dreams, darn it, are necessary for our mental health. I know Alex is just talking about how to be successful in business and make the life he wants. Good for him. But those of us who don't have his skills or who spend our lives nurturing other people's dreams are necessary too. When we just listen and question and suggest and hint and help and encourage and support when problems arise, we are part of those goal-oriented people getting where they want to go. And more: we help people who don't have Alex's skills to get to a good point in their lives, too. I'm sure if he really thought about it, Alex would realize how much he and Melissa dream together before the images and desires in their hearts take the shape of goals. Pouring out one's life in loving service to others is also a valuable life, even if you don't end up with a life that looks just like the house, garden and family you have dreamed of having. My goal is heaven, and loving service of those in front of me takes enough of my energy. Selling things to make money to achieve 'goals' is just not my nature. Being 100% present to the needy people in my life is not a goal. It's living LIFE. I don't want to miss being 100% present to everyone who crosses my path because I'm so intent on my goals - no matter how wholesome or valid - that I don't see them or have to compartmentalize them into the 'charity' part of my spread sheet. Alex has a family to provide for, and that's great. He does well. But not everybody needs to have goals to chase. Living an authentic life loving and serving others is also good. Alex says he doesn't need stuff, but he is certainly driven to achieve a certain state of material comfort. If he's happy, good. But to me, without children, living his kind of life would be utterly empty, I think. We need to do what we do out of love, that's all. Goals are not an end in themselves. If Alex were so incapacitated all he could do was receive the love and care of others, so that THEY were growing in love and compassion by caring for him, would he find life bearable? I wonder if he could cope with being given to as well as giving. Because if you can only give but can't receive, that's not a healthy balance and eventually you're likely to have to learn the hard way that when you let people give, you help people grow.
I always love your live chats. This one tugged at my heart, You and your wife are so enjoyable to watch. Your ramblings ,as you said, were inspirational. Your new shop looks great. You got me hooked on everything do. I'm so excited to see the progress on your new home. I'm praying for you and your beautiful family that all goes well for your future endeavors and that you let yourself heal. Take care of yourself so that can continue to care of your loved ones
Look into geothermal heating. It might be a great green way to heat your home and water. And still use solar. Your parents were fabulous parents who taught to love and care about others. You are a wonderful young man with a beautiful family. God bless you all.
So sad that there are those who live in a world where they're jealous or envious of others for achievements they have made, dreams they have accomplished and after much hard work, have literally made those dreams or goals come true. You said it yourself 'you plan on working hard and achieving every single goal.' People who criticize others for that, only reflect their own inner lack. They're speaking volumes when they are critical of your ability to set goals and accomplish those desires. Sad that many would rather live in a world that shoots others down than to put a little effort into their own goals and dreams. You and your family are great examples of what following your dreams, hardwork and goal setting can do. Your heart is always in the right place. Those that criticize should be taking notes on how to be better! Watching you these past 3 yrs (yea, 3 wow!) have been not only entertaining, but also enlightening, knowing that people like you are out there! You are an amazing example of what I envision a 'genuine good person' is. Yes, goals fluctuate and are great to achieve, but dreams are the motivation of tomorrow. Dreams can give you the reason to get out of bed, to continue to live to make those goals to accomplish those dreams. And to see a man work so hard for the benefit of his family. To be sure they are cared for. I really admire you.
Total footage in a house means nothing if not arranged efficiently. When you plan and build your house to match your needs, less space can often seem like 2-3 times the space if planned for your needs. Not everyone cooks, gardens and uses indoor spaces the same. Best wishes for your new home and shop space.
As someone who once flew from Vancouver to Toronto with two slipped disks, I have all the empathy in the world for what you are experiencing. I know everyone has their ideas of how to treat it, but I happened across a Physio who also did acupuncture, and I'm convinced its what sped up the last round of healing.
I think one could consider the buyers of the antiques in the store more ‘stewards’ than ‘owners’; the things are each looked after and greatly enjoyed for a season then passed on to the next person in due course. More akin to a sharing economy in a way
If we keep in mind that everyone has different tastes, ideas, thoughts, opinions, etc., then it doesn't really matter what anyone says. They are talking about themselves and their life, not ours. Everyone makes criticisms. I don't think there is anyone who likes everything that everyone else does, says, believes, etc. Even Alex himself made one in this video.
You work hard for everything that you have. Don’t let people’s comments make you feel that you have to justify having a bigger house. It’s your hard work, your money and your family. You and your family deserve it all ❤️
Alex I completely agree with how you and Melissa think about life in general and live your lives. I have so much respect for you both. Keep moving forward and doing what you do. You have been such a inspiration for so many. Much love to you both! Susan Washburn
It kinda blows my mind that that city has such strict laws when it comes to building. Are they against homegrown people putting back into the community? It just seems every turn had a road block. Ridiculous that they have so many restrictions in play. When we watch your video,s we have seen so many closed businesses. It's a shame the city doesn't stand with business owners instead of throwing a stop sign in their face. Good luck!
Haven't you heard? Canada is going Communist these days thanks to Trudeau and with Obama's help. Maybe if America can beat them here, we can help Canada beat them there.
You have given your kids a great gift. Two loving parents. Money can't buy that. The people who said that you have a big carbon footprint. Think of all the good things you do. All the things you have saved from going into the landfill. Ask them what are you doing for the environment? Have you done anything good. Like help a neighbor.
🍊 It's wonderful that you get so much satisfaction from giving joy to others. From finding and offering treasures that spark childlike glee to creating wonderful videos for your RUclips 'family' and now creating your new gorgeous home embraced in its tree lined landscape for your family. Everything you create you source from your unique and caring soul, Alexander. And we are blessed to share in the experience. Thank you.
If either one of my husband's had your ambition and mindset, I would still be married.. Your family is lucky to have you.I have to agree that when you have nothing, you appreciate everything. Thx Alex.👍
Thank you Alex, I must have missed the cafe explanation. I was certainly confused as to why there was so much stuff in your cafe. Good luck, I know your dreams and goals were to come true. You are a decent, honest man who works hard, a fine role model for your children.
Hi Alex! Just wanted to say this was an excellent message. Flexibility is critical to happiness (mental and physical). Also, I have 2 herniated discs and what helped the most when it flared up the first time was having the steroid injections into the discs (unfortunately while conscious) like an epidural. That removed the swelling and took the pressure off the nerve. Afterward, I went without issues for 3 years. It flared up again after helping my brother move and I couldn't sit or stand for long periods of time for 3 months. Physical therapy made it worse for me but taking oral steroids and muscle relaxers for a few weeks worked like a charm. Hope this helps.
I missed the live chat but really enjoyed this. Your way of thinking is spot on. Love the way you explained your goals. Very similar to how I accomplish things too. 😊
Alex….as someone who has had three back surgeries for herniated discs all I can say is OH…MY….LORD take care of yourself. Numbness is a scary and possibly permanent thing. I know from experience. I have to use my left foot to drive and all I can say to you is PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE see a neurologist and keep that in check. I woke up one morning with numbness 35 years ago and it’s still numb today. I can’t express how important it is to take care of that back!
Love this video chat about your goals. Glad you’re trying to build “green”. My daughter (Univ of Michigan Environmental Sciences grad and doing training in sustainable farming), has taught me soooo much about being more purposeful with my purchases and recycling, like re-using plastic shredded cheese bags instead of buying zip lock bags). Anyway, I love your concern for people and wanting to share your knowledge and business skills with others. Keep doing what you’re doing….it seems to be working really well for you and your family! Josie
Great for the solar panel idea. We really appreciate ours. We have a Prius prime, 25 miles electric. We would like to have an electric car, but time will tell. I have enjoyed your planning. 💙
Alexander, I have been watching your channel a long time like many others, and you have always improved your life and your family's life, and helped friends, and helped strangers, you continue to improve everything that comes into your life, hopefully you can continue to improve what ever comes your way, take care, be safe, & keep smiling.
You could always allow clubs to do bake sales at the shop! Along with Kurig coffees and teas. It would bring new people into your shop? Just a small thought. Please keep sharing your life I'm loving being able to join in on your adventures and 😊 happiness!
I have always told my kids and grand kids. Decide what you want and figure out the steps you need to get there. If you don’t know what you want you won’t know if you get it. You never feel a sense of Accomplishment if you don’t have goals.
All very well said! When you work hard to have what you have, you appreciate life so much more!! You have always been a hard worker, because of your goals. Best wishes to all the family 😎
Yup, sometimes the back just decides to be unhappy for a few days. The annoying thing is sometimes you just have no idea why. Try putting your shoes on when you can't bend over... Totally understand what you endure, Alex! Best wishes.
Alex we live on a acre and a half of land…..my son planted a few fruit trees….our problem is the deer keep eating the new fruit before it gets a chance to mature….we are getting a little smarting we now put chicken wire fencing around the trees.
Alex and Melissa, your parents can be immensely proud of how you climbed out of disadvantaged circumstances. Hard work, honesty, resilience, generosity, and positive attitudes got you here. You deserve the fruits of your labors.
I feel for you re the back pain. I had herniated discs after pregnancy and working on the farm before the stomach muscles came back. Be careful as that pain was so bad but nothing compared to when my disc collapsed altogether. I could not move, was lying down and could not get off the bed. Went to the chiropractor, as I did not want to get the bones fused in my back which friends had done and ended up worse. He was amazing, chiropractors are not only about manipulation. He stabalised my discs when I was in my late 20s. I am now nearly 70 and have had no problems. I had to go see him every few days for some time and put icepacks on my disc to reduce the swelling. Had been to the physio who put heat on and increased the swelling. He told me that when will not stop, the body just stops you. LOL.
The most successful people are those who make their dreams become goals and then work on achieving those goals instead of just having a dream for a lifetime. As a now older person I have seen very few people that work to realize their dreams. I had a long time dream of a little place in the mountains and it took me awhile but I did get a great little place that has brought me and all my friends a great amount of joy.
I completely sympathize with you on the back thing. I work as a dog walker (because I decided being active and self employed was more rewarding than my desk job) but have arthritis and a herniated disc in my lower back. Everyone always thinks they know how to fix it, but like you said, it just takes time. Getting in a pool, a little over waist high and just walking in the water helps me more than anything. One, it feels good because gravity isn't tugging on you, but it strengthens your back as well. Best wishes for a quick recovery.
Life does go on even when you are injured and in pain. Fractured a vertebrae in my back a few years ago, figured out what worked best for me as far as working, etc. Keep dreaming Alex. From dreams to goals to reality, you have achieved so much. Take care, be safe.
I totally understand the goal of a normal life. If I’ve given my kids that and the belief they can work towards what they want in life,- May are work, but still they can do it, I’ll feel like I’ve succeeded. My kids are your age so I guess I’ve done ok. They seem to be able to handle themselves pretty well.
Great message Alexander. Very wise of You. I lived in government housing for 16 years. My Mom did Her best. We never went without. My Mom was in the Toronto newspaper 2 times for how well She did with Her budgeting raising 4 Children on welfare. Keep up Your super work with Your Family and Business. Thanks always for sharing your adventures 😀👍♥️🇨🇦🎉🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👏🎉🎉🎉🎉💯💯💯💯💯
You can be so inspiring. I watch all of your shows because you are uplifting without being saccharine. You and Melissa work so hard you deserve everything you get. Good on you!
I have had back problems for several years. Recently I found out that I have two bulging discs. Like you, I just do what I can, when I can. On days that I hope to do more, I take a pain medication and an hour before. I would suggest that you make your new home ready to accommodate and physical disability you expect might arise. I am glad I did that in 1988. (Walk in shower, door handles rather than door knobs, etc,)
I wish my dad were as forward thinking. Well he is, but he is delusional. More like a big dreamer. Hard to understand why a man his age fights his reality instead of engaging and dealing with it.
Alex, Ignore the negative comments I love your vlogs. I may be going to Seattle Washington summer of 2022 to visit family. I want to come to Edmonton Alberta Canada to see your shop. It is over a five hours drive. I will make it happen. Hope your back heals quickly. No lifting. I have three herniated discs. It is no fun. It is scary when you stand there and can't walk. Please be careful.
Alex you have a special gift for always seeing the silver lining! You are more than inspiring with your outlook and positive attitude! Hopefully your back will feel relief soon! Love these heart to hearts ♥️
I all ways though of you warring your big boy pants, you got this, the key to everything is research. That's how you fight fire with Fire. We have faith in your abilities. 🙂👍 Go get them, show them who they work for. 😉

Right on Joel 🥰
Right with you Joel. Sometimes I think some people just dont want to be happy, maybe they are jealous, or upset they never achieved their goals? I will never understand them at all.
You don't have to explain yourself to anyone. Do for your family and community and have fun as you do. I enjoy your adventures.
Cindy 🥰
People who can pivot on a dime are successful. Well done on your part. No need to explain yourself to others. Keep going on your terms.
That’s right, no need to justify anything! His life, his choices, his goals. Keep buying, keep selling and keep having fun along the way! 🙃

I love the way Alexander is able to "go with the flow" and sees his dreams morph into very positive outcomes. What a wonderful role model for us all! Life isn't always fair, but Alex shows us it can still be good. ❤
So true... and GO WITH THE FLOW seems to be the message of the day for me as well
Yes, you always need to be willing to adjust your goals. Most do not come smoothly because God has a sense of humor.
This is a lovely heartfelt video full of honesty ...thoughtfulness for your families future...its full of love...truth...your a hardworking decent man...husband and father...dont ever change...

Well said Ron.
It’s true, people are so bloody critical it’s so annoying. There’s an old saying you really shouldn’t say anything until you walked a mile in somebody’s shoes. I think that saying needs to be resurrected - you go Alex!
Well written
Well said Lori! Another old saying," if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all! " people need to show respect to one another and especially this wonderful family. Thank you Alex for all the joy you have brought so many!
@@caroldunham1665 I agree!!! Our parents would be proud 🧡
The new house is amazing, but the property is like a paradise, wish u all well
It gives me great joy to watch the kids enjoying the acres , raised mine on 100 acres that my grandparents bought in 1918 ❤️
Wow. Your kids were very lucky😁

So true Tonni, it was visiting friends.
Thanks Alex. We need more people like you! And less of those folks who define themselves through the criticism of others.
So easy to criticize and not get off your butt and accomplish things that contribute to family and society
Go get ‘em!

You really described Alex perfectly. I been watching his channel a long time I have to agree.
Agreed.
Agree 100 %
I love your philosophy regarding possessions. You share real wisdom.
Teachers who say negative things to children are foolish. It's so much better to encourage a child to reach for the stars. They may not reach those heights, but they will make strides in that direction.
I discovered your channel 20 months ago when lock down started . It is one of three I still keep up with now that school is back in session . All three are just wholesome content. You will reach your goals!
Out of curiosity, what are the other two? 🙂

Alex, you're right on time with the subject of this video. I've been struggling a bit as of late. If I've had a particularly trying day I remind myself that tomorrow is another chance at a fresh start and a fresh mind. Stay positive people!
Peace be with you.
Thanks Christine. It’s a good reminder 🤗✨🌟✨💫
You are wise beyond your years, at the mid point in your life. Please take time to count your blessings & slow to enjoy all of them.
She is now a nursing supervisor.
my guidance counselor was useless, pretty sure he went to school for teaching to avoid the draft.

Alex, your shared wisdom is so appreciated! We enjoy all of your endeavours and you've made a real difference!
Selling antiques is, in and of itself, part of a sustainable life: reuse, repair, recycle!
Thank you for sharing your life & family. Please know you’ve touched so many lives thru your videos with your positive & humble outlook… it is so refreshing. I’m proud to say I have 3 beautiful adult children with the same outlook. Maybe that’s why I’m drawn to your channel 😊
Dreams start the process of making Goals, without the dream there is no starting point.
"When I was growing up, we moved around a lot because my father *thought* he was in the military" - Steven Wright :)
Alex you're a true inspiration, your attitude to live really spurs me on to sort my own life out
I think one could consider the buyers of the antiques in the store more ‘stewards’ than ‘owners’; the things are each looked after and greatly enjoyed for a season then passed on to the next person in due course. More akin to a sharing economy in a way
Ignore the critics. They are usually the people accomplishing nothing.
Alex you are by far 100% one of the best human beings I’ve ever seen thank you for being you
You work hard for everything that you have.

Thank you Alex, I must have missed the cafe explanation. I was certainly confused as to why there was so much stuff in your cafe. Good luck, I know your dreams and goals were to come true. You are a decent, honest man who works hard, a fine role model for your children.
Definitely need to be flexible in your goals and adjust. A sign of a healthy attitude.
Like the old saying “ You can’t have it all”
It’s always a matter of priorities
Love seeing your progress
Good luck and stay focused
I missed the live chat but really enjoyed this. Your way of thinking is spot on. Love the way you explained your goals. Very similar to how I accomplish things too. 😊
Alexander, you look tired...all of your goals are coming along beautifully! Take a couple of days off!
A great philosophy. To live, to grow, to experience, and that is how to spread and live happy.

Hallo
You could always allow clubs to do bake sales at the shop! Along with Kurig coffees and teas. It would bring new people into your shop? Just a small thought. Please keep sharing your life I'm loving being able to join in on your adventures and 😊 happiness!
I have always told my kids and grand kids. Decide what you want and figure out the steps you need to get there. If you don’t know what you want you won’t know if you get it. You never feel a sense of Accomplishment if you don’t have goals.
Your family is blessed to have you.

Alex and Melissa, your parents can be immensely proud of how you climbed out of disadvantaged circumstances. Hard work, honesty, resilience, generosity, and positive attitudes got you here. You deserve the fruits of your labors.
🤗✨🥰✨
Your new home sounds wonderful, My family also moved alor as a kid and I understand!!
And I am in agreement with Melissa . family and food!!

Excellent point! Universal design.
