Very well done and for the benefit and information of you and others who view this, there are actually lyrics for the main theme of this work, which begins at the 1:24 mark and they are below if you want to read them while listening or sing along. Hurrah for the flag of the free! May it wave as our standard forever, the gem of the land and the sea, the banner of the right. Let despots remember the day when our fathers with mighty endeavor proclaimed as they marched to the fray that by their might and by their right it waves forever!
5th place!?? I looked for a reason for which they would get 5th place...music...not a problem, marching...not a problem. Deserving of much higher if you ask me, Loara was definitely one of the top three bands in their division, nevermind the scores! This season was one of HUGE improvement for Loara, I am still impressed.
+Dy1ingGir4ffes I agree with you 100%. They put on a very slick, polished performance from step off right on through the march. The low brass was VERY good and the woodwinds carried their part very nicely as well. Congratulations to the flutes for doing such a fine job with their distinctive parts too.
thank you :) in a clarinet player in the Loara band and we worked very hard, it doesn't matter what place we got but that we showed them what Loara is about
Good, but not great. I could pick out a few rough spots in the music... intonation of brass... muddiness where there should be more crispness... a clarinet squeak or two. At some points a 'going through the motions' feeling. The marching: overall good, with some ranks not the straightest... diagonals need a LOT of work. You should be able to see those and secondary diagonals quite easily. So important. Piccolos featured at the end, admirable performance, but could be sharper. I've performed this march as a piccolo player, so I speak from experience. Also tough to be critical as I'm a former Saxon Band member from a bygone era (Marino). But proud I am of the Loara of today... GO SAXONS!!

Maybe you should look at the other bands and compare a little?
I also meant to say something about the extraordinary dynamics they displayed too.
