You really don't get enough recognition or thanks for the sheer amount of time and effort that goes into these tyre reviews. No one else does it quite like you and for people like me who care about the only thing keeping them on the road, it's really appreciated. Keep up the amazing work
Bit of house keeping all. Firstly, thanks for watching as always ❤ Secondly, there is an error on the dry handling chart, with 2 values incorrect only on the right hand section, and the rolling resistance data is incorrect. You can confirm the full data here: www.tyrereviews.com/Article/2021-Tyre-Reviews-UHP-Summer-Tyre-Test.htm Pricing, as always was taken from the Tyre Reviews website on 1st May 2021 for a DELIVERED ONLY 18" tyre and is indicative pricing only. There's a legend error on a chart later on in the edit, sorry for these, I was in a big rush to get the edit out on time and having laptop issues, while travelling and doing other testing so things got missed. I'll do better next time. Lastly, thank you for all the wonderful comments. I'm getting to them :)
Great content as always, currently running primacy 4's but wishing i'd have went for ps4's or gy eagle f1's instead after watching 18" vid and then this vid, what you running as I also have VRS as my daily?
Great reviews as always 👍 I have just put a full set of "GOOD YEAR EAGLE F1 ASYMMETRIC 5 " on my " OCTAVIA 2019 VRS 245" today as these are my summer tyres . For the winter I use " MICHELIN CROSS CLIMATE +" I was heading for the " MICHELIN PS4s " but after watching your reviews on these tyres I swayed towards the " GOOD YEAR EF1 A5 " Massive price difference also! Again thanks for doing the "Fantastic" reviews and keep up the great work! Looking forward to seeing the next videos 👍👏👌🤝
I don't need UHP tyres but I still watched, with interest, til the end. These videos and the website are a breath of fresh air. Commitment, passion, knowledge and great presenting style. Excellent, many thanks.
It is Bridgestone then. The way tyre response to milimetric steering inputs, road feedback and on-limit dry handling skills are most important for me. For sports tyres, i put outright driving fun slightly above the safety and comfort properties. Thanks for the incredibly detailed and nicely crafted test.
@@tyrereviews just got them fitted on my front axle a week ago(i had ps4s previously), it's excelent in the wet, very pointy in dry and wet, warms up quicker than ps4s for sure, very good high speed stability compared to the ps4s's side wall. Has a little less feel while loaded in the corner i would say. Noise and comfort i didnt notice too much of a difference, slightly yes, you can feel a bit more imperfections on the road but it still absorbs them not crashes over them. Straight line acceleration(fwd) feels a bit better too 🤔. Oh and morning temperatures we have atm are around 10°C atm and it still has good levels of grip before warming up, its understeer biased like ps4s while not warmed aswell. Oh braking feels amazing aswell 1.2-1.3G on stock brakes.
Your reviews are epic. I can't believe Goodyear allow you to use their own testing with all the competition, just shows how confident they are that their tyres are some of the best!
@@truthseeker8483 no just facts. They do well wherever he tests them. Obviously Goodyear's tyres will have been tested and developed on Goodyear's own tracks, but the results would be similar on the Dunlop testing track or Mitchelin test tracks
@@truthseeker8483 wow you are quite the cynical one aren't you? Does it come naturally to think cynically like so or were you paid by one of the other tyre makers? Brilliant! Was procrastinating watching your videos earlier then saw this drop and now I'm getting even less work done. People like me who enjoy driving, even in normal road cars, would be so lost without this channel. Thank you.
After watching this video, I've bought the Hankook Ventus S1 Evo3 RFT* at 225/45/18 and 255/40/18 dimensions for my F30 3.20i and I'm absolutely thrilled with it. I've used Bridgestone Potenza RFT* and Pirelli Cinturato P7 RFT* before these and I must say that the Evo3 blew me away. It might be a psychological "new-tyre effect" but I'm really pleased with them. I've never considered Hankook to be a premium brand but after seeing that tread pattern in person and trying them on, I was sold. Also, thanks for the great video. I really hate asking tyre dealerships about different aspects of tyres because they're always trying to push either the most expensive or the most-stocked option they have. Since I only buy new tyres every 3-4 years, I can't be and shouldn't be expected to become an expert on them. So these videos have been great for a tyre noob like myself.
Awesome, I'm glad you like it! I've no experience with runflats, so it's good to read. If you get some time please leave a / some reviews over at www.tyrereviews.com for everyone to see :)
Not easy to condense so much information in a format that does not turn into a “death by powerpoint” presentation, and/or a 3 hour long movie. Well done, to the point, and indepent. Scores. 👍 well done ! 👏
First off, I love this channel. No bias, no crap just testing and results. Tires are probably the hardest thing to test because of all the variables (size, environment, car etc.) and cost but Tyre Review basically eliminates them all. Second the PS4S are hands down my favourite tire for where I live since we get a lot of rain and some sun. It’s very grippy in the rain and has low noise and good ride comfort. It also has a really nice sidewall design too
The thing is with the Michelin PS4, you can enter a corner in heavy rain and the person next to you thinks you are going to crash. But it just grips up and you go tru without any issues. It gives so much trust and feedback you feel like your driving in the dry. It feels strange.
Without a doubt. I took my MX5 around Donington after fitting 4 new MPS4 and it was hammering it down but felt like I was driving I. the dry. Unbelievable levels of grip and confidence that you get.
I ordered PS4S tires and I get them installed next week! The Continental extreme contact sport is probably the best bang for your buck though (not in the video). They handle way better in the rain than the Michelin’s. Look at the comparison on car and driver, they also out brake the Michelin’s too. www.caranddriver.com/features/a15092360/2017-performance-summer-tire-test-feature/ I put 30,000 on the continentals and i cannot recommend them enough
I've been going back to the asymmetric 5 in 225/40 R18 over and over again. I do 30,000 miles per year - and lots of it on tight, twisty, and often wet Cumbrian roads, and they just make me smile! They give me tonnes of confidence, grip and feel, and they last better than previous UHP tyres I've tried from Falken and Vredstein, all whilst being relatively affordable. Downside is I find them really rather noisey, but it's worth it.
Just through my experience, and I might get criticized, but Hankook is just a powerhouse on wet braking. It's the most important criteria I consider for tires and always get the best for my wife's car when it's time for new tires.
Everyone is talking about suspension, lap times and digital applications of sporty cars but nobody talks about tires. This channel and this video are highligy underrated! Thank you and thumbs up
Some surprising results here, and glad to see the PZ4 (guess it's Sports version) and Bridgestone tested by you. Absolutely fantastic content, many thanks for all the efforts! 👍🏻
@@alextzan I have driven them about 9000 kilometres. The Goodyear is significantly quieter than the other brands I had on the car. I am still very happy with them.
Been waiting a while to ingest this. It's as good as I'd hoped. In the realm of 'independant product testing' you have to be up there with the very best. All of the geeky info is included, shortcuts are not taken, but it is still delivered in an enjoyable and succinct package. A+.
From a video last year, on your recommendation I swapped from potenza runflats, to non runflat asymmetric 5. So much feedback in both wet and dry. More confidence in wet. Car fitted to is BMW 125D with staggered 225/40/18 and 245/35/18.
@@She1lby I am using Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 runflat. 225/50 R17. I have previously had Bridgestone Potenza S001 and Pirelli P7 Cinturato. The Goodyear is miles better than either of those two. I value comfort, quietness, longevity and steering feel. The Goodyear ticks all the boxes for me.
@@She1lby The comfort is good. They feel just as comfortable as my Uniroyal Rainsport 3 tyres. Noise is absolutely fine. Better steering feel than the Uniroyals so that was a selling point for me. Also just as good in the wet from tests I've seen
Your the one that deserves the medal. Tyres are soo important for all types of vehicles, so its important to be given a non biased opinon based on testing them in the best possible environment . Nothing is ever perfect, but your reviews are as close as it gets.. Bravo 👏. Legend!
It was really interesting to see the Eagle F1 SS "falling off" so much in the Wet compared to the tests you've done with it before in a different size. There's something i'd be curious about when it comes to the new Potenza. When you say that the tyre does need a bit of heat does that mean that just rolling around with the tyre for let's just say 10 minutes or something (without any considerable cornering or braking, just the utmost casual driving) is enough to have it switched on? Or would you say that you need to work a bit to have it switched on like taking a bunch of corners/braking progressively before you can really trust the tyre? This Test was pretty much everything i've hoped for and even more. Amazing content, once again!
*@Tyre Reviews* I'd be curious too. A tyre i would have to put work into to get it going, at least at a decent enough level, isn't something i'd be interested in for the street personally. Otherwise i could just put on a CUP2 and call it a day, if Wet Performance wouldn't be an criteria of course...
I was surprised the F1 Supersport, did not do better in the wet. I love this tyre because it is so good on cold, wet track days in the UK. In 235/40/18, it is amazing in the wet.
I fit F1 Supersports to my BMW 120d last season. Staggered. Below 10 degrees C ambient they are far off their warm performance. Not a real problem for sensible daily motoring. They let go "early", but are still progressive and controllable. In wet weather, around 5 degrees C...the transition is more abrupt. Been hammering about in 15-20 degrees in wet weather lately, and the wet grip is high. Surprisingly high, in contrast to 5 degree wet weather. They can handle summer trackdays, at least with my safe-but-fun driving style. If the cold weather performance was better, I expect they'd die on trackdays. Living in Denmark, I run winter tyres October to May, when the temperatures are under 5, and often freezing!
I asked before and I ask again: PLEASE MAKE SIMILAR TEST OF 14-15-16 INCH TYRES for small cars, since half the world drives on them, and results can be very different. My tyre size is 185/60R14. Please include all-seasons too then. Thank you so much! Great video. You're the very best tyre reviewer on youtube. The level of consitency and details is so important to differentiate the bad and the good. Keep up the good work!!
Keenly awaiting the Potenza Sport to arrive in Australia, it'll be the only non-semi slick UUHP tyre available in 17" here as neither the Eagle F1SS or PS4S are offered in sizes below 19" here (excluding a handful of odd OEM sizes in 18" for the PS4S)
I had the Altenzo Sport Comforter+ on my BMW 550i when I bought it, I thought they were ok, not great just ok. When I needed new tyres I got a set of the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 and the difference was massive. I am supper impressed with the Michelin's, much more difficult to break traction now in all conditions, more precise and overall noise and comfort is 100% better. I really appreciate the work you put into reviewing some many tyres. I used the info in this video to help inform my decision of which tyres to get.
Bridgestone Potenza sport is definitely the tire I’m gonna replace my Pilot Super Sport with when its time. In 205/45-17” is the only UUHP available so…
Those GY EF1 AS5 do an excellent job on my MX-5 RF. The car isn't that great to handle if you use "unbalanced" tires, even Mazda's OEM tires (Bridgestone P S001) are a nightmare among most Miata ND/RF drivers in cold and rainy weather, so you need to be very careful when you are looking for a replacement. Goodyear's Eagle F1 makes me feel safe under all driving conditions. Thumbs up. On top of that the AS5 is cheaper than Michelin's PS4.
Hi and thanks for your review! I bought the Hankook and change my pzero's on my e46 m3. For me it is cheaper, but better performs and the noise level is awesome! Next time i go always with Hankook ;-) Greets from Bavaria
Wow thank you for the mega review. One thing that I really like and I'd like to highlight. Not all tyres are made equal. Data and maths are one thing, but feedback, safety feeling and subjective feeling are still very important. Going fast is one thing, going fast being nervous with a twitchy car is another thing. And this review, with one car and so much choice really shows that you might have a chassis no matter what, Golf or Gt3 RS, 4 rubber circles is what could do a very, very, very big difference in handling, but also safety when enjoying our toys. So once again thank you and shout out for your skills 👏👏
Great test, thankyou for the detailed tables including tyre weight, this video gives the type of information that entusiasts couldn't find even after spending hours looking on the net, so much better to make an informed choice 👍👀🙂
Thanks for all your time and priceless information, I confirm that i made a good purchase over Goodyear asymetric 5 for my 16 Suzuki Kizashi (234/45R18), overall the car change in every aspect on the road from stock tires. Thanks Again!
Bought the Potenza sport as a result of the last video. Found them underwhelming in corners, same levels as the Asymetric 5. But haven’t had the chance to properly warm them up, guess that explains it.
After burning trough Continental, Bridgestone and Dunlop tyres, Michelin 4 and 4s have been fantastic and long lasting. While expensive the tread is deep and didn't degrade the performance as much long term.
@@HarryG98 yeah right! How drifting events? Burnout contest??? I've done 30k on my p4s tires, and dig race my highly modified twin turbo 335i. My rears are looking worn only just now. My experience is mostly with e89 Z4 and some with new 330i. Contis were great but only 5.5mm of tread to start comparing to 8mm. Have to take into account that Michelin were the newest compound and hence lasted longer. Was thinking about new Eagle F1s but wet breaking in UK is paramount.
@@HarryG98 I also have a track car. That's just my daily driver. Why would you track any tires on this list anyway? These are street tires. You don't know me. Or what I have. I'd gladly except your challenge. You won't be embarrassing me. I own 3 modified M cars as well. I was simply saying with my aggressive foot, and high hp, I've managed to still have tread after 30k miles. I'm not sure why you felt the need to act the way you are towards me.
Just bought a set of Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 because of this. Transformed my 2018 330e after switching from stock (pretty much worn out) run flats. The F1s just soak up the small bumps so nicely while still feeling so precise and fun to drive in the corners.
Great independent testing , this is the most trusted tire review channel in my opinion . Thank you for your detailed analysis , I look forward to your next video.
Another amazingly deep and detailed review, I love the data table in the middle. Interesting that Michelin have a harder rubber on the 4S compared to the 4.
thanks a lot, just what i´ve needed. Im about to buy 225/45/17 tires on my car and i didnt know what to buy. i knew that the Michelin ps4 was awesome, but it is a bit too expensive, i was willing to pay for that premium if necesary, but after watching this, i have no doubts on what to buy: Goodyear F1 asymetric 5. At least in my country it is MUCH CHEAPER, it has good and sporty handling on dry, good handling on wet, good braking distances, and decent confort. Thank you for the video, keep it up!
Jonathan, at 07:12, there seems to be a discrepancy between the graphics and the times presented for the Hankook and Nokian. They are awarded with the same times as the Continental and the Michelin PS4.
Thanks a lot for the extensive review, for a person who live in a dry country, I guess my next tyre (soon) is going to be the Goodyear SS or the Bridgestone sport.
Really appreciate the information. For someone who is not going to the track but wants a great performance tire on the street in a myriad of conditions, your tests hit all the major points that make a difference. THANKS!
@@MrBrunchbreaker Yes, it's very unfortunate. Fortunately, track day tyres like the Hankook RS4 and similar are usually still available in 15" & 16" for MX5s and the like. :)
Very welcome as ever. Little detail: you've used decimal points rather than colons in your last 4 chapter/section time indices, so only the first 3 are properly defined and working.
Thanks for the deep dive again, Jonathan! I've actually listened to your advice on the Maxxis HP5 for my daily runner E46 and they do perform exceptionally well and they were much cheaper than the Conti's I've always fitted on my cars.

@@tyrereviews luckily I must go on vacation to Turkey so in total i will drive about 10.000km in 1 month. Btw on 245 40 19 and 275 35 19 they had 6.5 a 6.7mm tread dept. I will keep giving updates about the tires so far so good they are litteraly perfect.
It would definitely be of huge interest to have an idea of how well the top tires perform as they age and wear down. This is a very important criterion that almost always gets overlooked; many tires in my experience have been wonderful the first couple mm of tread only to completely drop off (and needing constant rebalancing) halfway through their lifecycle.
Fully agree with you Jonathan that we can't get the best tyre for all categories. The michelin pilot 4 tyres always the best choice for me as all rounder tyres.
The Avon ZV7 gets a review.. finally! It seems you found similar story to me, decent in the dry, grippy but nothing special. In the wet where the water kept that soft rubber a bit cooler though they performed much better. Best tyre ive ever tried for comfort though.
Wow, this is the most comprehensive video about tyres I have ever had the good fortune to watch. Amazing production values and super informative, thank you all so much.
Very interesting and detailed test. Great content! Bought de Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 5 last year after seeing the previous comparison test. It has been an awesome tyre so far.
@@jeronimjurakovic2919 They give a real secure feeling on the road. Very steady and you really feel the grip. You really feel what the car is doing. Stunning video. The editing was spot on, all the right detail included and a great round up. You've done well to condense it down to a 14 minute edit and still retain the scale and detail by using the graphics. Have you considered doing a video using a couple of tyres, but three different sizes for each to demonstrate how size can affect tyre dynamics? Some cars will have options of 18", 19" or 20" rims, but presumably the same rolling diameter and therefore sidewall variation which could show interesting results. I'd love to see a video on pressures too and how that can be used to affect balance and manage the tyres better on track, though I appreciate that may be a bit too niche. I've gone from the PS4 to the F1SS based on your comparison of the PS4S and F1SS and I found the Goodyear to be tricky in the wet and far more resilient to track work than the Michelin.
I have a pressure video coming, and I've actually got a 17 vs 18 vs 19 inch wheel test on the channel, it's an older video though. Also, if you get the time I'd love to see a review of the 4s and f1ss at www.tyrereviews.com ❤
Thanks again for your always wonderful, forensic analysis of UHP tyres. I recently fitted a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres (215/45x18) to my 2017 Mazda3 SP25GT (Australian spec) based on an earlier review by yourself. Unusually for Australia, in this particular size, the tyres are made in Spain, not Thailand, as seems to be the norm here. They’re fitted to a slightly wider (7.5”) rim which seems to have given the car just slightly more responsiveness. I couldn’t be happier with the choice. They’ve transformed the car, especially in the wet. Thank you.
For daily driver its Michelin PS4. No weakness & best at road driving risk - wet handling. Safest tyre with excellent performance. (when are you really, i mean really going to need grip? the wet) I recommend everybody use them.
@@respirotyper929 Depending on the weather! Im saying for most people on the road the PS4 is the best tyre. Its attributes make it the safest tyre. What it loses in dry performance it makes up in the wet. And that where most need it. (while still being a top 5 dry perf).
Yeah, I had a set of PS4 on my MX5 before the current F1 Asy5s, and the wet handling of the Michelins is just out of this world. You often don‘t really feel like you‘re driving in the wet at all.
@@JP.708 it’s an NC3 2l w/ an Öhlins R&T. Warning: the following observations are very subjective and not in any way scientifically measured! 😉 The PS4 were _very_ nice, especially coming from the old Bridgestones. Very safe, unagitated, predictable, high levels of grip, but also a bit… plain and boring. Very little tread wear, too! Maybe a bit _too good_ all around for a fun car, because they never really gave you that adrenaline kick. The F1Asy are more direct on turn in, and definitely a bit less smooth, with even some more dry grip, especially once they are warm, but a good bit less wet grip. Their breakaway behavior is a bit more sudden and jerky than with the Michelins, but not uncomfortably so. They feel a bit more crashy on bad roads, but you also get more feedback through the steering wheel. Don’t have them long enough to comment about wear, I only put them on last summer, and apart from one trip through the Vosges, Alps and Black Forest, I didn’t drive my car a lot since then because of the microbiology situation.
@@Runoratsu thanks for the insight! I'm in the market for an NC myself and have been reading up on what rubber would suit it best. Do you have any other tips for an NC hunter? 😁
@@JP.708 Ummm… not really I guess 😅 forum.miata.net/vb/ has always been a great resource for me. I chose an PRHT model because I daily it (when there‘s no pandemic, at least), and it‘s a viable car even when it‘s snowy (w/ good winter tyres). You‘ll probably want to fix the suspension if you‘re interested in a sporty car-mine came with the upgraded stock suspension (the Bilsteins), and even those were too soft for me, both in turns as well as how it dives under braking and acceleration. The seats are super comfy, but from ~6ft+ you might not be able to heel&toe with the stock seats & steering wheel, at least for me it‘s impossible, my right knee is trapped by the steering wheel and doesn‘t allow me to turn my leg enough. Front visibility is somewhat poor, the NC has thick pillars, and such a low frame that it‘s almost impossible to see high traffic lights and stuff when the roof is up, you might want to check if that works for you. Wrangle the rear view mirror as far up as it will go or even turn it upside down! The boot is actually a decent size and with the top up, the top storage area can be used as an additional, sizeable storage area in a pinch. If you go PRHT, the Smart Top module is godsent, even at its high price. Hmm, that‘s all I can think of right now, unless you have any specific questions.
@@JP.708 Oh, and keep in mind not all models come with the locking rear diff. I‘d make sure the one you‘re buying does, unless you only want it as a cruiser. At its light weight, it‘s prone to spin up its rear tyres in a bend even with its meager power and WITH the locking diff (when you want it to. It is fun!), I‘m pretty sure w/o it the inner rear wheel would light up all the time for me.

Amazing TOYT, i was recently choosing between the potenza sport and ps4 on 215/45/17. Ended up going for the PS4 as it was a known quantity, for Dry/Wet performance and has in my opinion the best looking sidewall design.

I don't think too many people would appreciate the insane effort that must go into a video like this. So, thank you for doing it for our enjoyment (and education).
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great Edutainment indeed 👍👌
The sheer amount of testing for one video is beyond impressive. I can't get enough of this channel. Best mod for your car is always tires!

You really don't get enough recognition or thanks for the sheer amount of time and effort that goes into these tyre reviews. No one else does it quite like you and for people like me who care about the only thing keeping them on the road, it's really appreciated. Keep up the amazing work
I appreciate that!
Bit of house keeping all. Firstly, thanks for watching as always ❤ Secondly, there is an error on the dry handling chart, with 2 values incorrect only on the right hand section, and the rolling resistance data is incorrect. You can confirm the full data here: www.tyrereviews.com/Article/2021-Tyre-Reviews-UHP-Summer-Tyre-Test.htm
Pricing, as always was taken from the Tyre Reviews website on 1st May 2021 for a DELIVERED ONLY 18" tyre and is indicative pricing only.

For the winter I use " MICHELIN CROSS CLIMATE +" I was heading for the " MICHELIN PS4s " but after watching your reviews on these tyres I swayed towards the " GOOD YEAR EF1 A5 " Massive price difference also! Again thanks for doing the "Fantastic" reviews and keep up the great work! Looking forward to seeing the next videos 👍👏👌🤝

Let me know how you get on with them!
I'm going to test the Bridgestone too ;)

Goodyear did very well in the test....coincidence?
@@truthseeker8483 no just facts. They do well wherever he tests them. Obviously Goodyear's tyres will have been tested and developed on Goodyear's own tracks, but the results would be similar on the Dunlop testing track or Mitchelin test tracks

Love the weights of the tyres the tyre protection levels and the depths of the threads. Brilliant.
Oh yeah - finally the test we've been waiting for :) Respect for completing such a huge undertaking of organizing and testing everything.
I hope you enjoy :)
It also has a really nice sidewall design too
Michelin do win on sidewall design for sure :)
I so badly want these tires for my S5. I imagine it'd be like on rails with the AWD
I've got 4 on one car and 4S on my other, the 4S are even better!
I ordered PS4S tires and I get them installed next week! The Continental extreme contact sport is probably the best bang for your buck though (not in the video). They handle way better in the rain than the Michelin’s. Look at the comparison on car and driver, they also out brake the Michelin’s too. www.caranddriver.com/features/a15092360/2017-performance-summer-tire-test-feature/
I put 30,000 on the continentals and i cannot recommend them enough

Legend!
Thanks for sharing! If you get the time please leave a review on www.tyrereviews.com 😁
Just through my experience, and I might get criticized, but Hankook is just a powerhouse on wet braking. It's the most important criteria I consider for tires and always get the best for my wife's car when it's time for new tires.
I decided to buy the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 thanks to your reviews. I am very happy with this tyres! Thank you!

@@tyrereviews Really good video mate! Great information and well discussed.
I couldn't tell you without testing, I am curious at how it works on a cold winters day though
*@Tyre Reviews*
I'd be curious too.
Potenza are awful tyres, ditch finders

I asked before and I ask again: PLEASE MAKE SIMILAR TEST OF 14-15-16 INCH TYRES for small cars, since half the world drives on them, and results can be very different. My tyre size is 185/60R14. Please include all-seasons too then. Thank you so much!
Great video. You're the very best tyre reviewer on youtube. The level of consitency and details is so important to differentiate the bad and the good. Keep up the good work!!
There's a big test of 16 inch tyres on the channel from last year :)
Thanks for sharing! If you get the time please leave a review on www.tyrereviews.com 😁

Thank you for the kind words :)

Let me know how you find them once warm!
Holy crap, what an undertaking!! This test isn't even applicable to me but it's crazy that it's been done.
After burning trough Continental, Bridgestone and Dunlop tyres, Michelin 4 and 4s have been fantastic and long lasting. While expensive the tread is deep and didn't degrade the performance as much long term.
Michelin 4 lasting long? Me and a few people I know have burned through sets in 5,000 miles. Eagle F1s last much better

Thank you.

The PS4 were _very_ nice, especially coming from the old Bridgestones.
@@JP.708 Ummm… not really I guess 😅
forum.miata.net/vb/ has always been a great resource for me.
It is fun!), I‘m pretty sure w/o it the inner rear wheel would light up all the time for me.
i'm running hankook s1 evo 3's in 225/40r18 on my audi a4 quattro now, so far they have exceeded my expectations in every way for the price. The grip in the wet is amazing!
Glad you're enjoying it, I'd love it if you could leave a review at www.tyrereviews.com if you get some time :)
Great video but the caption for wet braking shows ‘lap time’ instead of ‘braking distance’.
Sorry for that
Pilot Sport 4s. The legend will own them all. Best tyre ever.
Jesus what a selection 😳 just got the goodyear asymmetric 5 based on the comparison to the ps4 and contin 6s
I ordered a rear set of Bridgestone Potenza Sport for my Z4M to replace my Michelin Supersports based on your review! When the fronts wear a bit more I'm going to replace them with the Bridgestones too. Hope they'll be a good match for my car for daily/canyon carving duties!
Hope you enjoy it! Let me know how you find them :)
Excellent video. This sort of info is invaluable. Many many thanks for your hard work. Next mission... 255/35/18 track day tyres that are road legal. One for all the timers out there. Yokohama A052 v Bridgestone RE71RS,v Michelin Cup 2 et al. Please 🙏🙏🙏
Continental is coming out with a new model aimed at enduros, could be worth a look. I'm assuming it'll trade a bit of pace for longevity, vs say the Cup2s or RE71s.
Definitely on that plan :)
Well done my friend, we need people like you to find out what's going on with all this brands!
One question that no one explain and say something about.. What's going on with side walls? Which of all this tyres have the stiffest side wall like semis build with the lowest bumpy unstable feeling when change direction fast!???
Just got the Bridgestone Potenza Sport for my FN2 CW. I’m shocked on how good they are.
Plan to do any track driving?
@@tire_reviews I would like to. This really feels like a track tire, it’s amazing.
@@respirotyper929 let me know if you do, and keep an eye on wear
@@tire_reviews ok, no problem!
Amazing TOYT, i was recently choosing between the potenza sport and ps4 on 215/45/17. Ended up going for the PS4 as it was a known quantity, for Dry/Wet performance and has in my opinion the best looking sidewall design.
Another top quality comparison.
Very interested to see/hear more about the Bridgestone as my car runs a 17" wheel which until that came out has limited me to a ps4 or assym5.
It's an interesting tyre for sure
The best tires for our Outback and Forester is the Michelin Cross Climate.
It’s great on all road conditions, including snow.
Great review as always! Bridgestone Potenza Sport or Michelin Pilot Sport 4 (not S), for a daily use Audi TT Quattro 8N..? I can't decide..! (I live in Greece, so the weather is mostly dry)
PS4 for comfort, Potenza for handling
Voll is on the money
Nice and thank you very much once again. I must say, when I look at price difference between Michelin PS4 and Goodyear F1 AS5, I am glad there is finally equal competition on the market.
