Dude I love how casual but still informative this series is ya'll are great. The thing I miss the most about no longer living in Burbank is the fact that I'm not near your store anymore :(
I use the quantising on random lfo’s like you showed, but I also tailor it with the loop function, so it gives me some repetitions in the patterns. I combine it with the clock devider/multiplier there is on every output. I use beatstep pro to make patterns for gates/envelopes, and this gives me my melodies. It gives some nice results, if you loop the pnw and the gate patterns in odd figures… 😊
Thank you so much for this video. Within the first 5 minutes I already have a better understanding of what Pam’s is capable of, I’ve watched a few other videos but yours makes the most sense at least to me 😁👍🏻
I’ve used the waveforms for sequencing, but did NOT know that you can change triangle to ramp by means of pulse width. Worth the price of admission on its own that… Btw, PM/ Pm = pentatonic major/ minor- great scales both.
Sorry I'm still learning but I'm stuck on where to send the output of channel 3 on pams. Looks like you've got it going into maths but whats that doing? I'm using VCV with my pams so sending dixie to veils, and v/oct to pams then into vcv. But stuck on where output 3 goes I've sent it to the output but it just sends out pulses
i just can set the scale right but not the root note? so it works on its own but when i want to use it in a context the scale mode is pretty much usles right?
@@PerfectCircuit ahh okay thanks i thought the pitch would be overwritten when i plug something in the v/oct input. So i can tune my osc to f# and set the Pam's new workout to minior and i get only f# minior notes? and do i need also to tune my osc when working with a midi to cv module?
@@TatePictures yes to the first question. With midi you only have to tune the osc once like an analog instrument, no need to re-tune to change the root note since that information comes from the midi sequence playing. Of course, you could do it that way too if you’d like; for example it would be easier for a beginner to play everything from root C on a keyboard, or you might want to change the root of an external midi sequence with the modular. Point being, since this is modular, it’s all up to your choice, imagination and needs.
The pm scales are pentatonic major and minor!
Great way to describe limiting the quantize output
Pam’s makes getting into modular worth it. I have two in my set up.
This has to be the most informative, easy to follow and understand tutorial ever on PAM. The end track was spectacular too.
awh thank you! more to come! :)
This is a compliment: you sound like Alan Resnick
Pam's gives GREAT puppy- eyes to EVERYONE❗🎵🤙🔥
My favourite way to use Pams is quantized random out to pitch with an LFO (usually a ramp) modulating the size parameter, sometimes the offset too.
Just got Pam's recently. Thanks for this! 👏👏
Never tried the logic function. Never quantised an incoming voltage through Pams. I will tonight! Excellent video. Thanks !😍
I always overlook how amazing the logic parameter is! Thanks for the demo
That jam hoooooooo! Sweaty!
I haven't seen this PNW feature "featured" before. Sharing with the group!
"...some other stuff." I lost it! Spit take.

Loved this! Gives me a reason to revisit Pams. If I didn’t already have Pams this video would’ve made me GAS for it badly. Keep up the good work!
Very clear and nice tutorial I should call it.. Thank you.. Looking forward the following parts :) Thank you..
One of my fave modules. So versatile.
This video is going to take me out of my comfort zone (basic LFO's, clock divider/multiplier) with Pams. Thank you!
Mmmh ~ it's written anyway in the manual 😌

There are some things you just positively reinforced ! Excellent 👽
If you guys ever need some audio-reactive visuals for your videos, hit me up! I'd love to work with you.
Thanks for this! PNW is already the heart of my system, and this just further solidifies how incredible a module it is.

Keep these video coming

hahah pentatonic! so obvious now
Nice, didn't know it could quantize and logic
My Plonk man! Where is it? lol, I neeed it!
Result at ca. 4:00 is not an arpeggio; it’s a scale. (Just an ascending major scale.) Note the irregular durations at slower speeds, though.
Great video. I noticed on the quantizing ramp the 'skippy' timing. Has anyone found a workaround for this?
Awesome, thanks! I’m having issues running PNW off vcv rack, any recommendations on that?

Let me sync it to Tempi in a non_frustrating way.
You can figure it out buddy, I believe in you.

Normally in modular you will tune your oscillator to your desired root note, instead of on a sequencer or quantizer :)

But where is part two? *cries*
"PNW" "Quick" nice try
Tip 1: use it to get the giggles 😂
This ain’t quick at all
No matter what I try I cannot get my Pam’s to update the firmware
are you using the right updater for your hardware revisison? i know that can get a bunch of people stuck up, make sure you double check !
@@PerfectCircuit yes I’m on windows and have followed it to a T and tried other ways but can’t seemed to get it going
