I keep telling myself I won't jump into modular, but this is the exact kind of compact rig I'd find super fun to make and play with! One super flexible oscillator and the ability to generate interesting rhythms and patterns on the fly. Plus pairs so well with the OT for live contexts. Nicely done:)
i don't know why, but i think the way you do room audio voice recording is much more engaging than delivering some polished voice audio that competes with the nuances of the material and techniques you're trying to highlight. there's an aural shelf, or demarcation, that helps me focus on both what you're saying, and the musical material. keep up the great work!
I have exactly the same feeling about compressed and polished voice recordings for videos. It makes them sound somehow "unreal". The room reverb, on the other hand, gives the feeling that you are sitting next to this person. In my latest videos though I improved quality of the voice recording. However I really wanted to keep that "room" a little bit, so that people feel like on the one on one coaching session. I wonder if I managed to keep it sound real. If you watched one of my latest videos I'd appreciate some feedback. Thanks for watching and your kind words!
I appreciate your video. I seriously couldn't get through all the others or even bring myself to watch some of them. Your style is the closest to mine and I wanted a practical application and a straightforward explanation with a basic real world example. Thanks man.
Great video! Only room I see for improvement is to zoom a bit on the Pamelas screen to see what is going on but honestly I am neat picking since you asked about it. 💥👏🏼
little trick: you can copy pages or even settings. Just hold the Page button while you are on the page you want to copy + Copy. Then paste by going to the next page and holding Page + Paste
I've been learning so much about modular from you, thank you for taking the time to create these detailed videos, it's finally allowing me to really understand the modular workflow, and your videos are incredibly visually pleasing as well. You are going to blow up with subscribers soon I know it.
Great walkthrough in creating unique rhythms with PNW. Very inspirational. Opened my eyes to a feature I need to try. The module is awesome and you really nicely showed how it can be the center of a cool, vibing patch. Really enjoy your videos. Creative and flow well. Many thanks for the modular inspiration.
You are welcome and thank you very much, Chris. Your words mean a lot to me! ✌️ Pam can also quantize CV to a certain scale. I guess the combination of Mimetic and Scales could be avoided in this patch actually. Such a module!
Wow. I guess I really need to dig deeper into this module. It is a recent one for me and a workhorse for clocking, LFO and even a little ad hoc CV, but from what you’ve shown and mentioned, I’m only scratching the surface. Thanks Ihor, this is awesome stuff!
Sounds awesome! Have you tried using right angle cords for the audio output of the Intellijel? That way you have more freedom with hands in front left corner.
Have you ever tried to use MPC One for your eurorack sampling/recording / beat making? And using the 8 CV/GATE out of MPC one to control the rack? I have a MPC One. Been thinking about Digitakt.. you really make me want to get a Digitakt after watching your videos :) Seems perhaps quicker and better for live jams, vs MPC One.
Hey Jennifer! I’ve never had an MPC, so it would be hard to say for me. From what I’ve seen on RUclips MPC is much more complicated than the DT. At least for my taste. I think that having CV and Gate outputs/inputs is amazing! On the Digitakt I sync it with Modular via MIDI, which introduces a bit of latency. With CV and gate there won’t be any latency.
I am looking for info on building a small skiff to go with Subharmonicon and DFAM but also usable as a standalone skiff. I am looking at PNW, Beads. Plaints sound nice as a sound source. Subscribed :)
You weren't kidding you got Pams that quickly! Was it next door?! haha. Regarding Pams, could you connect RST on uMIDI to RUN on Pams so you can control transport using OT (or whatever external MIDI you have connected).
Yeah man! It was almost next door, to be honest. I went on modulargrid and there was a guys selling it from the city nearby. Coincidence? 😝 That is such a module! Thanks for pointing out! I thought to go with Run connection, but was lazy to configure MIDI 1U module (I would have to take it out and connect to a laptop and so on). 😝 But certainly to a bigger extent it is a way to go!
Hello, i like your video very much! It is very useful. Im beginning with modular systems and dont have a lot of experience yet. I also bought the Octatrack and have one question to you. The Octatrack i haven´t use it. How do i connect the Octatrack to the modular. Which module could you suggest? Im happy to hear from you soon. Greetings from Berlin. :)
Hi! Glad you found my video useful! ✌️ When it comes to connecting the Octatrack to the modular I think we talk about MIDI clock and sequencer. For that you will need a MIDI cable and a MIDI to CV converter module. I use MIDI 1U from intellijel and I am happy with it. But any other converter module will also work good. I like the 1U module, because it doesn’t take any 3U space in my little system. I have a few videos on my channel about the Octatrack and Modular, and also one about MIDI 1U module. Check them, they will be useful for you and hopefully will answer some of your questions upfront 😉
Are the eurorack case and the modules actually identical to Ricky’s? Also the place is setup the same🙂 Well, you can’t have enough Rickys, that’s for sure.
Oh my god, thank you for that minor chord. Much better for my techno spirit.
Glad you liked it!

I actually love Plaits a lot! It has so many different sounds in it. Really capable!

Wow! Apparently I’ve only scratched the surface of what Pamela’s can do! Thanks for giving me something new to explore! 😎
Glad to read that! Thanks for kicking in!
The best way to explain these functions is with some graphic illustration that you flash while playing back the perfect example.
I urgently need Pamela in my life : )
Pamela is a good friend of mine!

amazing video as always! much appreciated!
Hey this is really useful, thanks a lot from another Amsterdam based synth-fanatic.
I am glad you found it useful! I appreciate you here! ✌️✖️✖️✖️
Great tutorial on some cool things to do with Pams. I love that module - always has a trick up its sleeve!
Thank you!
Now Pams is glued to my 62HP 😊
Great video!
That's a hell of a nice groove. Pams looks great, it's on the list for upcoming modules.
Thanks!

You made a good point! It would have been better if I would zoomed it. Also I wish Pam had a brighter screen.
Thank you! I appreciate you here!

Thanks Ihor, learned something new today and Euclid became even more useful.
I am glad you liked it and learned a bit! That meant a lot to me! Thank for tuning in! ✌️

That is a great idea, actually! Thank you!
Great trick thanks 🙏
I m fairly recent to modular but now I can see how Pam's can work really well with the Digitalis or my Ornament and Crime. That video sold me to it.
Yeah this is great man! Explaining this really well.. thanks!
Thank you Wesley!
Great Video, same technic I am using with Pamela. Such a great module and must have in every case :)
Thank you Dan! I appreciate it!
Pam is a 100% must have!
thank *YOU*
Great explanations, Thank you. liked & subscribed.
Thank you! ✌️
This video was priceless! Thanks!!
Thanks for tuning in! ✌️

So the main vco waveform is pamela’s workout and plaits?
Sound comes from Plaits. Pam's is CV source, not audio.
What's the device in front of the Digitakt on your shelf?
It's ZOIA Pedal!
Great
