The details of Cooks death are on official record, so why doesn't Rawiri take the trouble to read it. Cook attempted to arrest the ruling chief Kalaniʻōpuʻu because of an increasing number of thefts by the Hawaiians including one of the ships longboats. As Cook and his men walked the Chief to the beach the villagers were roused and attacked. Cook was knocked to the ground and then stabbed by a sub Chief named Kanaʻina. He used a metal dagger, obtained by trade from Cook's ship during the same visit. Cook wasn't eaten. His body was seen by the crew on the ship to be dragged up the hill. Despite the enmity, the Hawaiians had prepared his body with funerary rituals usually reserved for the chiefs and highest elders of society. Hawaiians placed value on bones, particularly the long bones, such as in the legs, and would remove them from the rest of the body for keeping. After requests from the British, some of his remains were returned to his crew for burial at sea, So get it right Rawiri, don't let your Maori half get so carried away that you make up your own versions of the facts.

I totally understand how this group feels. But when you create a contract, the time to enforce it is on day 1. Looking at something that was not maintained a 100+ years later, is going to be a mess. You cannot expect people who were born into freedom of choice, to relenquish their individual sovereign rights, so that an issue 'your' ancestors created, is somewhat resolved. There must be another way. If co-governance was implemented, the 'issues of veto' will cause a complete failure of democracy for all. Fundamentally, co-governance is not possible. We hear your voice, but you ask for too much. We are here to protect 'everyone' not just the few.
I like how when when moriori came to nz it was "honourable", when the Spanish colonized the west coast it was honourable, when Abel tasman dropped the dutch and french off in parongahau it was honourable(even though he took slaves away with him) to help them. but when a english man goes exploring hes a "raping, genocidal colonist". Maori history is marked by generations of inter-tribal war, guerilla tactics, scare tactics and the art of shrinking and decorating the heads of your enemies. I'm wondering where they May have possibly found safety and prosperity when you are constantly afraid your neighbours will invade

Im 68 years young and we studied a lot about Maori in the school system. It was the real story, not the altered story maori tell us now about them living a peaceful, harmonious life. What a crock of poo.
@tsa3b I am saying that in the pre colonial time this country was not the utopia claimed but full of raiding parties, slavery, some areas cannibalism. Life is a little better for all of us now. What does piss me off is maori's attempt to rewrite their history when they should embrace it, accept it, and move on like the rest of us as we live in an age of enlightenment with all the wrongs coming into the light and unfortunately a lot of your people are living in the past and are getting left behind with the victim mentality. Most are moving ahead with an eye on the future. If I kept looking at my ancestors past, believe me it isn't pretty with all the injustice, but nobody cares as it's done.
@tsa3b The injustices done were by the english and scottish lords as our ancestors were thrown out of their homes and lands with only carry out items. Their homes and lands were rented but they had nowhere to go. That happened around the 1800 mark during the Scottish Land Clearances. There currently is the injustice of violence, bad parenting, unemployment and the country has run out of money so we are all in the sh&t. Let's hope the current government can get us out as we are all suffering.

This guys needs help, he is mentally unwell. I hope someone that he listens to will help him.
Finally thr true words are spoken.
We are here to protect 'everyone' not just the few.
di where does that leave the few thst are chested by the agreement ? St the mercy if the many ?
Good on you Winston! You are doing very important work to bring the country back together.
Thank you Winston. ❤ you are totally correct.
Hear Hear Winston
I like how when when moriori came to nz it was "honourable", when the Spanish colonized the west coast it was honourable, when Abel tasman dropped the dutch and french off in parongahau it was honourable(even though he took slaves away with him) to help them. but when a english man goes exploring hes a "raping, genocidal colonist".
Maori history is marked by generations of inter-tribal war, guerilla tactics, scare tactics and the art of shrinking and decorating the heads of your enemies. I'm wondering where they May have possibly found safety and prosperity when you are constantly afraid your neighbours will invade
That is how history works when told by someone with a victimhood mentality like Rawiri.

Thank you Winston let have peace and unity
Go Winnie
Winston, you completely nailed it 👏
Well said Winston. None of us is blameless, the blameless ones were killed off and eaten and their skeletons ground up for fertiliser. The reproach of it all still lies over us. The only way forward is to use honesty and to walk in truth. In my opinion.
Well said Sir
Thank you Winston for bringing history to the fore front, and explaining it in detail so as we can hear the truth.
I totally agree with Winstone.
Our pacific brothers seem happy about all the money we send them, you know to build infrastructure and support them after each cyclone. Surely the money doesn’t come from agriculture industry the mean old British brought.
Winston speaks the truth. 🙌🙌🙌
Have you noticed how the Maori Political Party Maoris all have facial tattoos like the Maori Criminal Party gang members have ?
And have you noticed that all their tattoos were created using Pākeha technology? No traditional painful Tā Moko carving for these wannabes!
@@Rokker61 The fools do not realise that everything they have, everything they see, touch, and eat comes from the inventions and technology of people that they claim are "colonisers".
None of them would last even 5 mins having to walk through the bush barefooted wearing nothing but a flax apron and having to hunt for their food.
They wouldn't stand a chance and would be begging for a beer and a fag in no time.
I feel sorry for the Maori New Zealanders who sit back and say nothing about these fake fools.
Exactly.
Thank God for your common sense Winston!
If Rawhiri wants to lead, provide some ideas to make NZers life better in some way, not just try to rearrange the seats in parliament to suit you better
He doesn't have time - too busy making NZ safe for cowboy hats.
Bring back "1st past the po st"
Love you Winston.. your my brother!! For now she’s a another !! Let’s come together you have a place next to me and be with us together as “ one “ Amen.
Well said
Well said Winston. We can no longer afford to pay for entitlement.
They should teach this in schools.tyey didnt when i was there
Im 68 years young and we studied a lot about Maori in the school system.
