Thank you Beryl for telling these delicious food stories from Azraq and our school! We loved having you in Jordan and can't wait for you to come back.... for more mensef!!
Who. Is. Producing. At. This. Level!!! Miss Beryl went to volunteer internationally and made this video AND filmed another one for the foundation. And her skin still looks hydrated. A gemini in the gemini month.
This 🥺😭💜
I'm half Syrian living in Syria (unfortunately), and it's so great to see you talk about makdouss!! It's one of the best dishes that we have! Also, nowadays that everything is expensive and walnuts are especially extremely expensive, we replace them with peanuts!
Thank you Beryl ❤️
May Allah protect you.
@@jonjohns8145 I'm not Muslim, but thanks! 😁
@@Baelaisa Doesn't matter .. I hope he protects you and all who are still in Syria .. 🙂
I love makdousss!!! but i’ve always had it readymade & store-bought. Would you be able to share a recipe with us?
I would really really appreciate it!
@@GlowingAsteroid I don't know how to make it 🤣 I'm so sorry! I will ask my mother though
Beryl, you do so many good things!! I love your content
I agree as well! Thank you for opening our worlds and showing us such a beautiful culture. Keep up the amazing work!
This is a very bittersweet video as a Syrian raised in Europe, but having family strongly affected by the war. I actually teared up watching this, thinking of all my trips to Syria. This war is and was truly a stain on our hearts. I send all my prayers to recover the prosperity and history that these beautiful countries hold, that will never be taken away from them and will always live on in and with the people.
Thank you so much for this video, this brings back so many memories.
And to my fellow brothers and sisters- بارك الله فيكم ❤
This felt like such a special episode. Raising awareness and sharing food cultures, Beryl you did a pretty amazing job! 💜💜
Also, 'apologies if I'm all sweaty'?
.
.
You looked perfect!! 😂💁♀️
Thank you for reminding people about the Syrian refugee crisis🙌🏽 Ukrainian has overshadowed the news and people don’t even know that Syria and Yemen are actually in worse situations
yes it is ten time worse than in Ukraine and kids died everyday over there, it sadden me that western media has forget about it but when a few Ukranian kids died every person in the west especially America got angry and ready to fight for Ukraine but literally thousands or kids died in Syria but nobody cares. :(
This brought tears to my eyes. You and your sister are both such beautiful beings of light 🥺♥️ I'm so grateful for your content, and for continuously educating me on different cultures from all around the world. Love you so much, thank you! ♥️
I really enjoy your channel and I thank you for the opportunity to help the center. I am only able to donate $100 but I know it will be put to good use. Thanks again.
Thank you so much for your generous support!
Mad Respect for Beryl for her Hand Eating technique during the Mansaf segment .. You looked like a Pro!
Drinking tea right now, but wishing I had freshly made cardamom coffee - looks amazing! I made a donation to the charity, the school is such a beautiful place. ❤️
Thank you so much for watching and for your donation!!
I'm dying to try coffee with cardamom
@@priscillad8 You can actually do it easily at home. You just need some lightly toasted bean (or get some green coffee beans and toast them yourself in a pan on the stove to light brown color). You can then crush them in a mortar and pestle if you have one, or use a food processor if you don't. You just need to give them a rough (preferably uneven) grind along with a few pods of cardamom. You can also use some powdered cardamom after you finish grinding the coffee instead of pods. Finally, put the coffee and cardamom grounds in a pot (or thermos) and add some boiling water to them and let it steep. The resulting liquid will be light brown in color and will have a more floral and slightly acidic taste compared to "normal" coffee. But I think it is a much more refreshing drink than normal drip coffee. One thing I would advise is to be light with the cardamom. It is a VERY powerful taste so a little goes a long way.
@@jonjohns8145 Thank you so much my dear for all the instructions, I was really thinking about making it at home and looking for a recipe. I'll buy a good coffee too to have a great experience 😊😊 Then I'll come back here to show you the result.
Beryl is so amazing bringing all this content to the world and in turn bringing us all together, i also loved how she ran to help with the rice at the end, so eager to want to try her hand at everything, its great to watch (i had to edit this and it took my Beryl heart away🥺)
This is my first time seeing a fundraiser on RUclips! Am I living under a rock or is Beryl just the kindest person ever? 💕 Love this
It's probably both. A lot of RUclipsr raise money for charities like the Trevor Project or after natural disasters. But Beryl is making a video specifically about the charity she is supporting. And she is also super kinda and generous. So Both!
RUclipsrs definitely don't do it enough! That's for sure.
@@MultiKswift , it makes me smile that you just agreed with@Expat Natt that they do, in fact, live under a rock, lol.
@@louisejohnson6057 well, I was a little surprised when I read that because I have seen many RUclipsrs do fundraisers.
@@MultiKswift Depends on which ones, SaveTheKids is a scam (plagirizing from Save the Children), a certain "charity" that is actually an NFT scam.
Another one is Mr Beast's Team Seas which does nothing to address systemic problems of why plastic pollution happens, instead it focuses on after the plastic problem is already in the ocean. AKA going against marine scientists recommendations. Not forgetting that part of the donations are by NFTs (another pollution problem AKA uses too much energy the size of countries).
MrBeast's charities are often stunts and never solves the problem. AKA always check about the charity's background.
I love that you immersed yourself in the entire cutler, including eating with your hands at their dinner table, what would be considered inappropriate in America is celebrated in Jordan and I love it!! :)
Thank you for bringing light to this situation. Syria has been in poor conditions for years but immediately got overshadowed with the current war in Ukraine. It's nice to see they haven't been forgotten. Keep up your wonderful work!
As a (half-)Jordanian, this episode made so happy! 🇯🇴 شكرًا Beryl ❤️
Actually same
Wow, your parents must be so proud of you and your sister, Beryl. Albeit in different modes, both of you are committed to education and celebrating, sharing and preserving diverse cultures. These stories were so interesting. Thank you for sharing. I'll be sure to donate to the school.
This video and the comments here really help restore my faith in humanity
Gemini Queen! I'm proud that my hometown of Lancaster in the US has a huge refugee population. Refugees from Syria mostly. The local community has done a lot to help and empower refugee families and I get to eat plenty of delicious Syrian food 😋.
damn you, Beryl. I'm getting crow's feet from crying 💓
refugees are truly one of the most vulnerable demographics in the world.
love to you and your sister.
Its really sad seeing what is happening all throughout the middle east as a lebaneese myself with prices and wars and all thats stuff and this video was a great way to bring light to these cultures and teach people everywhere about these cultures 🙂
This is beautiful, Beryl. It brings tears and joy. Thank you for this. This is definitely a sign for me.
This is so cool & amazing cause! As an Egyptian when you said "no matter what time of day it is or what you're doing you're going to be drinking tea or coffee" I relate so hard 😁
First thanks to you and your sister for your love and care for the world and all its people. Sharing what I know- Mensef is the dish of the bedouins. The people of Palestine, Lebanon, and Jordan use this a celebration dishes. And mukdus is all shared in the above countries, in Palestine we fill will roasted garlic. I have to say the Syrians are the French of the Arab world since the Ottomans used Damascus has one of their capitals.
Syria became a French protectorate after the Ottoman Empire lost ww1. Very interesting lecture by yasir qadhi called “1914” if you’re interested in watching
I love the diverse nature of this channel. Beryl, I feel like you would make an amazing collaboration with the channel Best Ever Food Review Show and the host Sonny. Your openness and desire to experience the world is such a joy.
So excited someone is trying Syrian food! Syrian cuisine rocks
Syrian fan here! My family went to Jordan at the start of the war and I am now in the U.S.
Beryl, I love you for what you do. You bring people together. In that way, you inspire me actually. I am so glad that you exist in this space of the internet. Keep up the good work. And sending love to the beautiful people of Syria and Jordan. I hope they see brighter days soon. ❤️🌻
I love how the cardamom is sort of steeped in the prepared coffee instead of being brewed with it. Seems like it would impart a milder, sweeter flavour than if it was boiled
I agree ! Though the younger generation boil it with coffee 😂 I will make sure to set the record straight lol
I have eaten Maqdoos here in Turkey from my Syrian neighbours & i LOVE it!
I think everyone should try it
I miss eating Syrian food
Just when I thought this channel couldn't get any more wholesome.
Love this channel and what you do 🥰.
As an Arab iraqi immigrant myself who moved to the US during the Gulf war, thank you Beryl for bringing light to these people, my people ♥️💐
Super cool episode. I loved when the woman making the Mensef, Nofa, talked about the head & liver being presented to the guest as a sign of hospitality. I love learning about what "hospitality" means to other cultures, especially because it's such an important universal human concept but is carried out in such a variety of ways when you get down to the specifics.
Beryl! You’re so funny for eating the head meat. I have never heard of that in my Jordanian life 😂😂, but deep respect this was awesome. The representation you bring us is greatly appreciated ❤
I've seen it in a few different documentaries but have long suspected it's a commone prank to play on tourists rather than something locals eat regularly lol
Aww Beryl you've made me all teary-eyed 🥺❤️ It just hit me how so many folks around the world live with so little.. yet they are still so generous with their time and what they do have. I lived in Burkina Faso for two years volunteering with Peace Corps and I found it there, too. Then I came back to the US and so many people have so much materially but are often so unhappy. We love that you are highlighting these lovely people and helping make the world a kinder place 💙🙏💙🙏💙
Thanks Beryl!!! Donated✅!! Love your videos!!❤️👍🏼😊
Before I used to LOVE Berryl....Now I RESPECT her more 👍👍👍👍👍👍 World needs People like you ❤️❤️❤️
Blessings to you and your sister. This was a fantastic episode. I am drinking my coffee with cardamom and date syrup as I often do today, and wishing you the best.
Maybe you should do a "What do you put in your coffee" episode?
Bless your sister. Doing Gods work.
This is amazing thank you
Love this! Thank you for the video :)
loved this!! thank you for sharing!!
This is so thoughtful ❤
Love this so much
Happy to donate. Everyone deserves tons of books to read.
Thank you so much for this video
Thank you for sharing the student film, too! Love!
An amazing episode. Thanks for this!
This is such a great video. So wholesome.
Oh wow...I was just watching orange episode and here you dropped another amazing episode
Love everything about this!!

I absolutely love this 💕
These stories were so wonderful. Thank you for sharing
This is so beautiful! I'm so glad you were able to do this. Please keep up the amazing content!
What a lovely video! ☺️🙏🏼
You do the coolest stuff, Beryl!! Thank you so much for bringing this to our realities!
Beryl gives me 90s Melissa Joan Hart vibes.
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! Thank you for sharing this.
The pickled eggplant is part of Jordan cuisine from before! The whole area was called Levantine before UK segregated us into four countries: Syria, Jordan, Palestine and Lebanon.
Sham
I love when your stories are on location. I hope you will get to travel World Wide again
This was a really great way to do a fundraiser. I hope you get a LOT of sonations!
What a special vlog. Thank you for sharing your experience in Jordan.
What an incredible experience!
thank you for all you do to make the world a nicer place! - blessings!
This is a really special episode!
This made me emotional, you're such a kind person!
Amazing work, Beryl! Thank you, sincerely, for all the wonderful things you do.
This video is so special, thank you for sharing and doing what you do, Beryl
Thank you for this wonderful video and for giving us the opportunity to help these kids! You are really amazing.
Loved this
This was so wonderful, thank you for sharing their food and supporting them beryl!
Your sister is so cool , I mean she made a school out there in Jordan to help ppl .. I mean whoa.. also thankyou beryl for showing us this very unique video..
Wow love your content
Thank you to both you and your amazing sister for the work you're doing! Both of you are truly inspirational!
I'm so happy that you visited Jordan♥️
Such a beautiful episode. Thanks for sharing these foods. Great to see what your sister is doing too!
🇯🇴 🇯🇴 thank you for showcasing jordan ❤️❤️
I so appreciate your commitment to connecting people around the world through food! The school looks like a great place and I hope this fundraiser is a success! And thanks to everyone who shared these wonderful recipes!
Morning Berly. It is so nice to see positive videos. ❤❤Thank You for sharing and caring! God Bless and I pray go get past your fundraising goal! GOID LUCK !🙏🏽🙏🏽🥰🥰
Amazing! Thanks so much for this video, it's so important to see how others live and bring up the challenges some of them are still living. Great to feature them explaining their culture through food.
So good to see you back in my country, and I'm a bit jealous because it's been a while since I've visited. And thank you for helping and fundraising for the refugee crisis!!
Btw, you showed the very old and traditional way of making Mansaf! There are easier and faster ways to make it. You can find pour-and-go Jameed in Middle eastern shops and I never made it with lamb because I don't like the smell, I usually make it with chicken, it's much lighter and it tastes really good.
I had most of these when i visited Jordan just before covid. They are so good, especially mensef! Mensef as a cool story since it exists as a nagging to israel since meat and dairy are mixed. I loved learning how to eat it with hand (yet so different from the indian way), and locals had fun teaching me and laughing at my attempts, all in good fun. LOVE JORDAN SO MUCH. So glad it was my last trip before lock down, i am still reliving it regularly through memory, i encourage everyone to visit there.
Beautiful work, Beryl! All your skills and interests combined. Thanks for this
I always love these travel videos, but it's also great to see these women prepare the dishes themselves in their own kitchens - and with such pride!
& congrats on surpassing 500K!
Thank you for sharing, as a Jordanian this warms my heart. شكرا ❤️
I love seeing you out in the field! DAT cinematic shot at 9:07!
Thank you for this and for showing us that we all have the similar love for food.
Keep up the great content , ive gained 20 pounds since I've subscribed to your channel👍🏾
Beryl you connect people like no other . Much love to all the aunties who shared their beautiful stories and food culture.
it's inspiring that you bring so much goodness to the world, and so much kindness to people, "only" with food videos. you're amazing!
Amazing content Beryl. Really amazing, thank you so much for sharing this with us. I feel really privileged to have shared that with you 🙂
Awesome video!! I really liked how you filmed it in Jordan, showing the school and all the activities.
Love all of your videos. Learning about other cultures is so important and food is a wonderful way to start. I hope refugee day is successful with donations for a good cause.
Wauw Beryl! You keep amazing us with the quality of your video’s. This is so much more than ‘just a food channel’! Thank you. 💕
Wow everytime I watch, Beryl you are growing... I always seek inspiration from you in every way... thank you for this channel, thank you for this video
This video is just so great. It made me emotional just watching this and I'm so so so glad you make these videos. Telling us stories and showing us how the world eats, it's the most humbling thing.
You (and your sister) are so special and do such important work spreading love and community through food. I have learned SO MUCH from you and your collaborators, and I thank every one of them. You are my favorite pandemic discovery. ❤
I loved seeing this episode! I'm moving to Jordan this Fall to teach English and cannot wait to get to experience every part of the culture including the food! When I went to Lebanon one summer, I have to say that the hospitality that I received was amazing. And I absolutely love the coffee that is served there!
I LOVE THIS POST SO SO MUCH! This school and this story. I’m grateful. My heart for all the refugees around the world
Beryl I love you so much. What an absolute angel of a human being.
