I’m so excited for this series! Dart frogs are a dream species that I’d like to add to my family one day. Thank you for choosing to go so in depth with your videos and for opting into a more naturalistic quarantine enclosure. We love to see it. I hope to learn lots!
Okay Emma. I'm pretty sure I commented recently on how your editing has evolved, and now I have to say it again. This vid was so well done 👏 (and congrats on the series).
I want the Dendrobates auratus. Specifically the panamanian green & black (they're on Josh's Frogs) but they're NEVER in stock despite being easy to breed.
Wow what an amazing opportunity for you to partner up with Exo Terra! Congratulations 🥳 love this sort of content, cant wait to see the rest of the series!
I just paid for 3 of this species that are coming in 2 weeks. I may ask the breeder for a 4th though as they are unsexed juveniles and I want the best chance I can get at getting a pair for future breeding plans. I'm so excited! Your videos have been really enjoyable to watch while I'm researching Dendrobates azureus. Thank you! I have owned few amphibians before (Pacman frog, African clawed frogs, African dwarf frogs, a giant cane toad and an axolotl) but I have never had dart frogs and I am quite nervous about meeting their needs properly. Ive also never had to culture fruit flies before and I'm worried about fudging that up. I ordered 2 starter cultures of D. Melanogaster which cost me $40 Canadian. I could not believe how expensive they are! So if Im unable to culture them myself it is going to be VERY costly to feed my frogs. I'm also a bit worried about the live plants aspect. Im not used to planting my terrariums. Or keeping plants indoors at all really. Im going to do a lot more research in the 2 weeks I have until my frogs arrive and while the terrarium is cycling. Wish me luck!
Gorgeous dart frogs! @ 2:14 do you see the thing wiggling on the back of the dendrobates tinc. It's not just me right? Thanks for another video. Have a great day!
@@EmmaLynneSampson I have no idea. Long term I want a BIG vivarium in my living room with a couple of species (one in the trees and one on the ground) and a river with tropical fish in the bottom, but I am going to have to start a lot simpler lol. Right now I am gathering info and researching prices for mister etc.
Hi!! I love your videos and have a whites tree frog myself! I was wondering if pothos are safe for them too? I have been propagating my pothos plants in water and wanted to plant them somewhere but didn’t know where! I watched this video and saw you were using pothos on your frogs terrarium!
How did you maintain the humidity level in the quarantine bin and what did you keep it at?? I am getting frogs soon and I want to have everything the best it can be for them. Also love your videos!!
First! I love your videos Emma! I have a video request….Could you do a video where you show your leopard geckos and do a care video? I’m looking to get a leopard gecko and I wanted some guidance from a professional! Thank you! Keep up the great work!!!!
Yeah! In captivity, dart frogs are actually completely harmless :) in the wild they get their toxin from a food they eat. But in captivity since they don’t have that food, they’re not able to produce poison so they’re safe to keep!
There’s literally no pet stores like this in my area! Wish there were. The only one that sold stuff like this closed down! Now I’m just stuck with petsmart and petco 🥴 unless I drive like an hour! I usually order everything online but I wish I had a store like this to go to
Is it just me or does anyone else feel neither the quarantine setup nor the normal enclosure seem big enough?? Sorry if I'm wrong I don't know much about frogs and stuff...
@@EmmaLynneSampson there all different species, I have a dying poison dart frog, a bumblebee poison dart frog, yellow back poison dart frog and one more which I forgot the species but it's green and black

Totally agree!
I’m so excited!
Yay!!
Great part 1
Thank you!
I hope these guys are allowed in Maine (I will live there when I grow up). If not then I’ll be really sad
I wish there was a place like Critter Jungle near me! The closest reptile store to me is over an hour away, and it looks so nice.
I really am lucky to have such a great store so close!
Hi Emma you are the best and the greatest I love your amazing videos and I always enjoy seeing all of your amazing reptile to 💪👍💯💯👍💪
I see your encouraging comments on every(!) video! 🔥🙌
thank you! I'm always happy to hear you enjoy the videos :)
Wait what!? It's all going on over here!
Yellow is your favorite color, but it isn’t Felix’s🤣
That’s for sure 😂
How do U do the light with a tub like that? Is it able to go through the plastic and still work
Do you think two of the Terrasky lights are needed for this type if setup? Or would 1 be okay?

I was right ☺️
I have 4 and they are so cute
what species do you keep? :)
@@EmmaLynneSampson there all different species, I have a dying poison dart frog, a bumblebee poison dart frog, yellow back poison dart frog and one more which I forgot the species but it's green and black
Are they being kept separate or together?
At 2:06, is that a parasite on the frog's back? O_O
No it was just a tiny piece of moss 😅
💚
Are you going to add a water dish ?
Maybe! From the research ive done it seems to be a bit controversial. Some people say to, others say not to. I may add a shallow one for them
@@EmmaLynneSampson ya true sounds good
