  • A review of the Holmes HAWF2041 twin window fan after using it for a few months..
    Note: This is not a fake, biased review! This is not a paid promotion or advertisement.. I am not sponsored by and have no affiliation with Holmes.. I was not sent the fan for evaluation purposes, I purchased it myself at regular retail price..

    *Works great with **Fastly.Cool** , exactly as described. Love the fact that it can push, pull, or exchange air with the push of a button. The remote is a nice bonus too!*

    My old window fan just died and I am researching for a new one. I was all set to order the bionaire one and then I saw this video. None of the videos I have seen thus far have talked the motors to this extent. After reading some comments below about PSC vs shaded pole motor, and doing some research, it appears you are correct about these being the better motor. Due to your thorough review of this fan I feel confident I am making the right decision to order it. Thank you for doing the work for us, you have made my decision easy!

    Excellent video! So glad I just ordered it yesterday from Amazon after checking out several other similar ones. Thermostat fans are absolutely FABULOUS. I'm delighted to hear this thermostat seems to have tremendous range and function well. This is the only one that has completely independent motors of all the other ones I researched. Even that more expensive Bionaire fan, which RUclips videos raved about, can't be operated with one of the fans shut off nor can we choose which fan we want to blow out or suck in air. I'm returning the Genesis Max Cool fan now that I found your Holmes because the motor makes a very audible humm at all speeds. I don't require the fancy digital or remote fancy ones, just more electronic crap to go bad. This is basic, simple and now I hear it not making a ton of noise which is awesome. I agree the speed dial knobs shouldn't be tapered like that making them alot harder to turn. Hopefully they will change this design into just a regular non- tapered style knob. I just wish they made the back extremely easy to remove for easy cleaning. I currently use the Holmes with the single push button that only has two speeds incorporated in with the thermostat. It's a real pain to change speeds having to scroll through all the temperature settings, how stupid. I clean it using my air compressor first, then spray soap on everything, then the garden hose being somewhat careful not to spray water in certain places. I've done this for about ten years now and no issues with the electronics. After cleaning it using this method I let it dry for a few days just in case I got some water inside. God Bless

    I've got one humming in my bedroom window right now. Don't know if it's the exact model, but everything looks identical. I've had it for more than ten years, maybe as long as 20 years. So long that I can't even remember when I bought it. It's so old that it doesn't even have a fuse plug. But it still works like a charm. After the summer's over, I'm going to use the instructions in your other video to clean it out and lube it.

    • @JordanU
      @JordanU  2 года назад

      They've been making this model for quite a long time now, but I'm sure they've gotten cheaper over the years. I'd be surprised if the ones bought today still last 2 decades.

      I have the same one and it doesn't turn on anymore, I guess it was because it slipped, and it didn't fall very hard, how can it be repaired, does anyone know please, when you plug it in and turn the center knob it doesn't turn on as if no energy was passing through it, not moving any other knob works

      It creates enough static pressure to draw air in through another window, but keep in mind these are small fans and move a relatively low volume of air..

    • @alexanderaltamira6474
      @alexanderaltamira6474 4 года назад

      @@KingdomUploader If you're trying to just cool one room, you're better off using it as an intake fan and just have it directly bring the cool air inside. You would use it as an exhaust fan if you were trying to pull air out of the house, and therefore pull air in through any other open window(s), but the faen is definitely not powerful enough to do a whole house in a reasonable amount of time, unless it's like a small studio apartment.
