Great comparison, I did consider both but went for the X3 in the end for the reasons you highlighted, the editing app for the x3 seemed easier for a novice like me.
Thanks for your video. I really appreciate the side by side comparisons. I am wanting to get one of these for filming on my channel playing FlingGolfWithDennis . If you think one would be better for what I am doing ( POV of playing and tripod View of playing throwing Golf balls ) please let me know. And Thanks Again. Also, I will be using a Samsung phone and Windows based computer. Also, if I cannot get an Insta x3, is x2 acceptable?
*Just bought the X3 a few days Ago. So Far I love the X3 over my One Rs. Nice Comparison, wonder why no one other then you hasn't done this type of comparison*
Have you experienced any smudge like fog effect during bright days. I’ve used this on hike and when I turn my footage when editing I can clearly see a hazing part on the video. Both lenses are clean and not using and lens guards. Any tips on how to avoided this? I would very much appreciate it
Question….. i have a max 360 and been shooting good footage and i have always been holding the camera lens side up and the other lens side down. Does that matter when shooting footage? Basically does the camera need to be positioned north/south or can it be east/west or it doesn’t matter?
Hey buddy, just seen your short trip to france on tommy hype's channel. I bought the insta360 but struggling for good mounts, can you help me. What's the chin mount you have and do the mounts insta360 hold the camera well below the tip of your full face?? Please help. Also i can't believe you hit those fest jumps.... unreal to be honest
An awesome comparison, thank you! 🙌 I thought about getting Insta360 but wanted to make sure that it was the right choice. Video quality is definitely worse than that of Gopro Max but the ease and the versatility of editing is what I'm going for. Insta360 it is!
I thought the same thing and was surprised that an older camera with smaller sensors(Max) had the better video quality. It's hard to argue with ease of editing the X3 footage though.
The only thing GoPro need to update / copy is the tracking feature. The Insta app is a mess of adverts if you ask me, sold my X2 due to that. The actual video quality from both is not too dissimilar. Which seems odd seeing as the X3 is newer. It doesn’t look like there’s a Max 2 anytime soon as GoPro are happy with the Max video output compared with its competitors, apparently……..either way really like the 360 cams.
@@amsterdamn3899 I been to thailand for vacation, been using the camera without case and had zero issues. Not sure what you are talking about, X3 is a workhorse for me
From watching allot of videos on both the cameras, I think the Insta360 now has better features and software editing and they keep doing updates. Insta360 I feel is taking over the 360 view market share if GoPro max does not do a version 2 camera and more to their software. GoPro is kind of on a holding pattern right now and will they do a better product - only time shall tell. Not holding my breath in anticipation for their news. Thanks for your video.
For me durability and balance performance i will choose go pro max it is still the Best for me. 360 x3 is too sensitive especially if i use it for hardcore trail, i am always worrying on his huge screen and it is too big for daily use
maybe im blind but for me the 3y.o. gopro max seems to have better quality and thats the most important aspect when it come to 360 cameras in my opinion because they always have problems with the footage quality.
It's really time for GoPro to upgrade their 360 series before it's too late. Insta360 really killed it with the X3, the stitching, editing workflow is so much better lol.
Nope, hero max is still the best for that category. The durability was insane. Ive been using it without watercase for 3 years and still functioning very well.
Nice video comparison. Thanks.

Editing? I picked up editing on the max in a couple days. Didn't take long

Really useful and detailed review. And your dog is sooo adorable. I wish I could have one like him/her. They would be my best friend.
He’s damn cute 😍

Absolutely x3

I was expecting more from X3, from its bigger image sensor. Seem that there is no Max 2 soon due to actual sales, GoPro is not selling that much.
I also chose the X3 over the MAX. It's just so much more refined and the mobile editing features are way superior
I've been using my hero max for 3 years without watercage and still functioning very well. I am doubting your insta x3 can do that.

Awesome, I was waiting for something like this, I feel like the X3 got slept on a bit. Think it destroys Gopro here to be honest lol

I've always liked insta360's editing software for 360 footage. Gopro max is a bit outdated now.
Why wouldn't Insta360 allow to mount their cameras in a horizontal position?
It is not a fair comparison considering that these two video cameras are not in the same place. On the same axis. Try to put them on the same stick.
Thanks Dash Cam👌
So no mention of what the 360 camera quality will be once in 360 mode. Stitched together with quality dropping to 1080p is hardly exciting
The Max is better for VR headsets.

X 4
2 cameras are also great. But gopro is more affordable in price.
