Both the bonus and downfall of that is when you do stop riding for a second or 2 and finally find some time to edit you’ll have a mountain of footage to choose from
Love my X2. Have some purdy cool shots from the track and street riding. Great quality 360 camera and the new X3 looks even better. If I hadn't just bought it recently I'd definitely get an X3. For anyone looking or on the fence about buying one, they're great and easy to use and edit with the free software. Buy one!
I love the way every video showing mounting the 360 on a motorcycle handle bar. Its always a morocycle with tubular handle bars. When there are a ton of bikes with clip on bars.
If they send you the unit then IT's A SPONSORED BIAS REVIEW as if you trash the camera with a really unbias review, then Insta360 will not send you the X4. I hate when you guys are lying like that. And the camera is far away from what it needs to be at the price they ask for it. I'll buy one when it can deliver minimum 2k resolution after reframing. For now it's a max 150$ price as far as the image quality goes. And for that it needs the extra steps to be done in editing just to get that 1080p video after reframing. 5.7k my ass.
For the power button, you could just add a dab of hot glue (or clear epoxy), I did that on my Africa Twins horn, so I could "feel" which button it was.
I just ordered my insta360 x3. Super excited. Your video has really helped. This will be my first insta360. I’ve been shooting my videos with a GoPro Hero 8
I have a GoPro Max and the sound quality in the wind is outstanding. That being said I just got my Insta360 X3 today and I hope it’s as good. Side note: If you’re exporting at 4K it’s just upscaling the footage. When you reframe the 360 footage it’s much less than 4K. But if you shoot single lens it should be in 4K.
OC: I like the loop recording, could be a second "dash cam". I'd like to have a 360 camera for Fall rides and the like. One thing, when you were looking back at yourself in ATL. THe blue in teh sky was much different thant the GoPro, are there filters for the 360 out there?
Just got my X3 cam but my Harley is in the shop. Do you recommend a swivel head or with the 360 just screwing it on the stick enough? Trying to up my game as an amatuer Moto Yapper :)
Useful! Thanks. The info convinced me to buy an X3. Great versatility, portability and many possibilities it offers this little gem. Great for documenting rides, runs, hikes, travels etc.
Please clarify. You said the m/c kit has everything you need yet a lot of your footage sees the camera mounted on a six foot unicorn mount out front of your bike. Is this a separate purchase?
My guy I just bought my 360 camra with the motorcycle bundle I'm excited..your video really helps me understand how to use this device and where to mount it. Thanks 1k 👍🏾
"you just keep recording", "you just hit save" - I would love to see a video showing the camera as you save these loop recordings. How do you "just keep recording?" How do you "just hit save?"
It loops for how ever many minutes you set. Set it to 15 minutes and when the 15 minutes is up it records over the last 15 minutes. Hit the red button on the screen to save and start recording again. Just be sure to hit it before the time runs out. I don't have one but could figure that out from his video....not really that difficult.
OC I'd really love to see a comparison between the 360 X3 and the One RS 1" 360 Edition. Those 1" lenses call to me hard, but the x3 is $350 cheaper, lol
OC: I have never used one but I have been wanting to get one but don't know if the x3 or the new gopro will be better. It will be awesome if you can compare the x3 to the new GoPro 360.
OC!! I've used the OneX and X2 but I'm not sure I can justify the X3. I just don't use it enough and my channel is way too broad (I.E. all over the place)... but for sure I agree, they are awesome and people should watch all of my stupid videos so I can get monetized. 🤘😎
OC: I've played around with a Garmin Virb360. Can do some reall fun stuff. I'm glad you talked about the editing workflow because it's not just copy pasta like a GoPro. Reframing takes extra time and effort.
Good video mate lots of info for us motorcycle riders, great work can't wait to have my own x3, Maby your next video some work with editing would ne nice ?
Alright , Chase you sold me out , I will order today from your channel....man if you need a body on the riding ,let me know , I have a Ducati Multistrada 1200 GP...I am on North Decatur...Great video and keep it up.....!!!
OC. I've been using the one r for the a little 3 years now. I'm still trying to figure out how to edit smoothly and find music to go with videos for longer videos. I normally do longer rides 200-300 mile trips in a day. I have a ton of footage from a 10 day, trip covering 4700 miles, I did in July I need to start going through. my big issue with the one r is battery life. especially now that the batteries are a couple of years old and living in the Midwest I really only get to use them a few months out the year. my concern with switching to any of the new cameras is lens protection. i like the ones they have for the one r. keeping them clean is a pain but I know they aren't' going to fall off and I'm not going to get a broken lens from a stray rock or June bug. I'm really interested in learning more about mounting that is my struggle right now. the original mount they had in the motorcycle bundle was trash. i broke 2 in a mater of months on my street glide. vibration and wind being the reasons for the failures I believe and they were completely made of plastic. would be nice to get a long term review on how the new mount holds up. riding season is almost over here so i have a few months before I buy anything new.
Late post, but wondering how this would work for safety. Wanted to get one for safety. If I ever I get into an accident, how good would it be on capturing critical details like license plate of said accident in 360 mode
Thanks for your video. If I well understood, I can use this X3 as dashcam? and the best place is in front, on 360 mode with a time loop shot by 15mn. Could you confirm, in this use case we can see the cars' number plates please? thanks in advance.
Question about the ball joint mount. Is the screw on it a stud or does it go all the way down into the ball joint? Them stud screws are a nightmare if they pop out with a camera on it.
Ah chase man i gotta comment and say this because im looking into getting a camera like this for my bike and you dont show any footage with audio from the device itself? does it have a microphone that is uses and how does it sound?
OC: I’m definitely interested in this as I should probably replace my hero 6 by now. Curious about battery life though because my rides are usually about 2hrs when I’m having fun
Just recently, I've been wanting to pick up a camera that easy to mount and take off and see 360 degree so you can see when other people are doing. As I had someone passing me on the shoulder in a construction zone where there was goved pavement and gravel on the road. If had a camera that took footage from it facing you to facing forward it would have caught this driver and he also braked check me too
Hey I'm a whitewater kayaker, how hard would it be to mount to my boat and b4 you recommend the adhesives I've lost Soo many gopros to those stupid stickers 😂
wait so with loop mode, it deletes all the footage except for the last 15 minutes? let's say I cruise for 60 minutes, and something happens... I press the "stop" button... it will save the footage from the 45th minute until the 60th?
How to use for insurance purposes? Is there a button you can press that saves footage of what happened 2min in the past and then records a further 2min into the future so it captures and saves what has happened before the crash, during the crash and after the crash?
So can you mount infront am see the back of you riding ? Or do you need to mount in the back with horizional settimg for the moto gp look ? Some help please would be grateful for.
I've been a big fan on the Insta360 products and the second when they announced a new camera, I knew that it was the X3 lol. I haven't bought it yet but I definitely will soon in the future. Great in-depth review though Chase. I appreciate your video!
Quick question, is it really necessary to buy the motorcycle bundle to record on my motorcycle. It isnt really clear what comes exclusively with the bundle and not the simple 3X pack. I would like to attach it only on the handlebars
Helpful video, thanks. But loop recording doesn’t sound very practical/smart for capturing potential accidents - if you’re hurt and can’t stop the video, you’ll loose the footage of the accident.
Could you tell me if i could connect to an intercom helmet system( Sena) and speak via the microphone of the helmet and record at the same time as the video is captured, please?. Second question is if I am connected Bluetooth with my pillion if at the same time if I could connect the camera to my own Bluetooth intercom system because some cameras don’t have more than one Bluetooth connection. I truly appreciate what you do for the community. Safe rides
I love my GoPros, but they have not expressed any interest in updating the Max and that is super disappointing. They have made some pretty good progress with their sensors over the years so I don't know why they haven't updated their 360 offerings, as the 11 wasn't really much of a bump IMHO. The single-lens mode on the Max is pretty weak compared to years-old GoPros as well so it doesn't really add to the value for me. Even if it was the same size as the current Max I would still buy it over the Insta as I like to stay in the same ecosystem. If they don't update it by the time I'm shopping for a 360 cam this year, the Insta seems like the better choice.
Do you have any videos featuring the different brand/types of the third-person perspective camera mounts? The ones with the extended stick? I'm having difficulty deciding which brand to get. The insta360 brand handlebar third-person mount/stick is apparently defective according to many reviews on Amazon...so I'm wondering what else to buy instead.
OC: I’ve always wanted to make and edit my own riding videos but, I can’t seem to stop riding to edit said videos 😂😂
Same man i wanna start soon
SAME
Story of my life 🤣🤣
Both the bonus and downfall of that is when you do stop riding for a second or 2 and finally find some time to edit you’ll have a mountain of footage to choose from
I can help you by editing your video Sir Marcus
Love my X2. Have some purdy cool shots from the track and street riding. Great quality 360 camera and the new X3 looks even better. If I hadn't just bought it recently I'd definitely get an X3. For anyone looking or on the fence about buying one, they're great and easy to use and edit with the free software. Buy one!
Can I install an external mic via bluetooth?
I love the way every video showing mounting the 360 on a motorcycle handle bar. Its always a morocycle with tubular handle bars. When there are a ton of bikes with clip on bars.
No time or patience to worry about recording our rides.. Just want to ride ;)
What a noob
If they send you the unit then IT's A SPONSORED BIAS REVIEW as if you trash the camera with a really unbias review, then Insta360 will not send you the X4.
I hate when you guys are lying like that.
And the camera is far away from what it needs to be at the price they ask for it. I'll buy one when it can deliver minimum 2k resolution after reframing.

5.7k my ass.
For the power button, you could just add a dab of hot glue (or clear epoxy), I did that on my Africa Twins horn, so I could "feel" which button it was.
You're a genius.
Can you keep power in all day with uSB cable ?
I just ordered my insta360 x3. Super excited. Your video has really helped. This will be my first insta360. I’ve been shooting my videos with a GoPro Hero 8
Same here
Dude THANK YOU! This video easily the best I have watched as someone wanting to get into recording rides
Which one you like more or recommend more: the x3 or max?
@@aaronqueen55 The GoPro has an image drift issue that they won’t acknowledge or fix. I can see why so many people are abandoning GoPro.
Regarding @ 8:45, I used a silver colored, narrow tip Sharpie to mark the Powe button to easily distinguish it from the Mode button.
OC: I like the loop recording, could be a second "dash cam". I'd like to have a 360 camera for Fall rides and the like. One thing, when you were looking back at yourself in ATL. THe blue in teh sky was much different thant the GoPro, are there filters for the 360 out there?
How well does the camera work as a Dash camera??
Just got my X3 cam but my Harley is in the shop. Do you recommend a swivel head or with the 360 just screwing it on the stick enough? Trying to up my game as an amatuer Moto Yapper :)
Useful! Thanks. The info convinced me to buy an X3. Great versatility, portability and many possibilities it offers this little gem. Great for documenting rides, runs, hikes, travels etc.
I ride adventure bikes and want to record long rides. How long is the battery life ?
Saving up for this as I’m a new creator. Thanks for the rec! 💓
Please clarify. You said the m/c kit has everything you need yet a lot of your footage sees the camera mounted on a six foot unicorn mount out front of your bike. Is this a separate purchase?
Incredible piece of kit. Nice video, explained it well
Last Question: can I export to my HD and then upload to a 2nd video editor like Filmora 12??? Asking for a friend :)
Chaseontwowheels is the best motorcycle review channel on planet earth❤️
Just got one…trying to find out how to mount on my CRF300LR…thank you for this video
My guy I just bought my 360 camra with the motorcycle bundle I'm excited..your video really helps me understand how to use this device and where to mount it. Thanks 1k 👍🏾

I wanna see some mounting options, since I wanna use it on multiple vehicles, please do a video if you can
I’ve never used any of their products but this one has me interested the most if the battery life is as good as you mentioned.
OC..
Just purchased this and thanks to your video of it, I have some mounting options to try on my bike!!
Thx again, Chase and crew!!
Only complaint about the quality of the 360 cam is the high saturation
I want to get one to work as a dashcam.
OC I'd really love to see a comparison between the 360 X3 and the One RS 1" 360 Edition. Those 1" lenses call to me hard, but the x3 is $350 cheaper, lol
Go for the cheap one , learn from your own mistakes , hehehehe and later with a lot of experience get the ONE inch....hehehe..
Hi, look an amazing camera. One question, do you have special gloves for touching the screen?
Aye you're in Atlanta we should ride one day. I just bought a x3
OC: I have never used one but I have been wanting to get one but don't know if the x3 or the new gopro will be better. It will be awesome if you can compare the x3 to the new GoPro 360.
yes do one on mounting. is there a speed limit, will wind bend the pole etc?
Great video!
OC!! I've used the OneX and X2 but I'm not sure I can justify the X3. I just don't use it enough and my channel is way too broad (I.E. all over the place)... but for sure I agree, they are awesome and people should watch all of my stupid videos so I can get monetized. 🤘😎
Thank you for the tips. I just got mine. Now to learn to edit the footage.
Going down the connecter just all free like that with no traffic. WWWOOOOOOOWWW!
OC: I've played around with a Garmin Virb360. Can do some reall fun stuff. I'm glad you talked about the editing workflow because it's not just copy pasta like a GoPro. Reframing takes extra time and effort.
Hi Chase, can you use a X3 remote during Loop Recording to save a video? I haven't found any information on this. Thanks for the nice vid!
Would this camera be a good dash cam?
Hi man I'm new around here, awesome video just bought the x3, little question can you share which mirrors are you using in your motorcycle
Good video mate lots of info for us motorcycle riders, great work can't wait to have my own x3,
Maby your next video some work with editing would ne nice ?
thank you so much it help me alot to used my new insta360 x3
I might have to get this 360 camera now. Amazing!
Just bought one and can't wait to make some content with it....
What type of bike are you riding?
Beautiful color combination!
Alright , Chase you sold me out , I will order today from your channel....man if you need a body on the riding ,let me know , I have a Ducati Multistrada 1200 GP...I am on North Decatur...Great video and keep it up.....!!!
Thanks Chase, super clean and informative video, no BS, exactly the info I was looking for, really appreciate it my dude.
great review...i am considering it for my moto vlogging

Red lights do not see motorcycles! 😂😂 great review.
Hey, great video on Insta 360 & the mounting accessories. Just one question, is it easy to turn recording on & off like the single button on a Gopro?
I have a VTR1000 , with it's vibrations 😅, I just got the X3 I wonder if it can cause damage 🤔
can you charge while riding ? thats the biggest plus for me on action cameras ;/
Late post, but wondering how this would work for safety. Wanted to get one for safety. If I ever I get into an accident, how good would it be on capturing critical details like license plate of said accident in 360 mode
Rob from Savannah - Thank you for some alternative ideas to mount our insta cameras!
Can u do multiple loop recording on the same trip?
Chase can u do a first ride on the new Honda Grom?
Good watch man
Thanks for your video. If I well understood, I can use this X3 as dashcam? and the best place is in front, on 360 mode with a time loop shot by 15mn. Could you confirm, in this use case we can see the cars' number plates please? thanks in advance.
Hi just purchased the x3 and ride a f900xr in what position would you recommend it be mounted ?
can you lock wire the body to a motorcycle. Required in doing many track or race days?
great review. I bought one!
Excellent review! I was sold on the camera and the mount. Let me ask a question. How do you feed your voice into the camera?
OC: I’m definitely interested in this as I should probably replace my hero 6 by now.
Curious about battery life though because my rides are usually about 2hrs when I’m having fun
Nice!! Im about an hour and a half from Atlanta now! lol Was from Vegas
Just recently, I've been wanting to pick up a camera that easy to mount and take off and see 360 degree so you can see when other people are doing. As I had someone passing me on the shoulder in a construction zone where there was goved pavement and gravel on the road. If had a camera that took footage from it facing you to facing forward it would have caught this driver and he also braked check me too
yeah I probably won't be upgrading to this one i love my onex2 and don't leave without it.
When you hit the button as your recording on loop. From that point… It records 15 minutes in the past. Files it and then keep recording on a new loop
How to use for insurance purposes? Is there a button you can press that saves footage of what happened 2min in the past and then records a further 2min into the future so it captures and saves what has happened before the crash, during the crash and after the crash?
Very nice. How do you think to compare the single lens mode with Gopro 11 or DJI action 3? Is it still good enough to go?
Decent review. Thank you so much.
What about the audio? Can you hook up an external mic?
What computer program are you using to see the footage. I need a app or a program for my MacBook
OC: Can the loop record button be pressed from a remote control? If I wanted to mount the x3 out of my reach could I still hit the record loop button?
OC: not used one yet, but seems like an ideal tool for a dual vlog!
So can you mount infront am see the back of you riding ? Or do you need to mount in the back with horizional settimg for the moto gp look ? Some help please would be grateful for.
Opinion vs the oneRS?
A mounting option video would be great. Thanks
I've been a big fan on the Insta360 products and the second when they announced a new camera, I knew that it was the X3 lol. I haven't bought it yet but I definitely will soon in the future. Great in-depth review though Chase. I appreciate your video!
Chase what about the guys with cafe racers with clip on bars and not a lot of real estate on the handlebars?
What’s wind noise like and can you fit a external mic
This is cool info thanks Chase.
Outstanding review. This looks like it’s a must have. Thanks for all that wealth of information.
Would you reccomend using this instead of a dashcam?
Quick question, is it really necessary to buy the motorcycle bundle to record on my motorcycle. It isnt really clear what comes exclusively with the bundle and not the simple 3X pack. I would like to attach it only on the handlebars
Helpful video, thanks. But loop recording doesn’t sound very practical/smart for capturing potential accidents - if you’re hurt and can’t stop the video, you’ll loose the footage of the accident.
Will this camera create 360VR videos for something like Oculus to view?
Could you tell me if i could connect to an intercom helmet system( Sena) and speak via the microphone of the helmet and record at the same time as the video is captured, please?. Second question is if I am connected Bluetooth with my pillion if at the same time if I could connect the camera to my own Bluetooth intercom system because some cameras don’t have more than one Bluetooth connection.
I truly appreciate what you do for the community. Safe rides
What mount do you use for your phone on your bike??
Very useful! Thank yoy
The battery sucks tbh it dies pretty quick so yea
Paid to promote
The camera is great but battery not so great
Hi Dude. Can u let me know, if X2 got the same battery as of X2. I mean can we use X2 Battery in X3?
The loop mode only saves if you hit the save button? What about if the camera is mounted where you can’t reach it?
I love my GoPros, but they have not expressed any interest in updating the Max and that is super disappointing.
They have made some pretty good progress with their sensors over the years so I don't know why they haven't updated their 360 offerings, as the 11 wasn't really much of a bump IMHO. If they don't update it by the time I'm shopping for a 360 cam this year, the Insta seems like the better choice.
So does this do front and bk then and u really need a go pro to then
Do you have any videos featuring the different brand/types of the third-person perspective camera mounts? The ones with the extended stick? I'm having difficulty deciding which brand to get. The insta360 brand handlebar third-person mount/stick is apparently defective according to many reviews on Amazon...so I'm wondering what else to buy instead.
Still don't get how a single lenses can do 360 degrees footage because if you set the lenses facing forward si hiw does it record 360 degrees around ?
Wish there was a subject lock on live 360
