I agree with comment below about a trailer! You could rent one because you don't use it that often. Also the tracks are probably the most worked on part of the mini and you are just putting miles on them not digging . It's expensive to work on tracks!
Al, you definitely need to get your own lumber milling equipment because you have so many trees on the off-road property. You’ll never have to delay another project because the lumber prices at Lowe’s are too high!
Al has said previously that a saw mill is on his wish list. The one they'd like is currently backordered as lots of folks want saws now. (Gee, I wonder why?) Howdy Al: If the excavator is closer to the old bulldozer tracks you wanted to use for the fire pit, now would be the time to attempt to yank 'em out! Other folks have indicated that you may have better luck with that machine rather than the TYM tractor...
Al mentioned in the other video he would use the excavator for that while he had it closer on another project. I, like you, think this might be just that other project.
You can make the use the blade to make ditches and to make the dirt too go different ways by adjusting yours arms up and down. You can look how to it on RUclips
Its standard to pull the bucket in close to the push blade when moving a ways. You do it to keep the weight towards the machine helps to ride and steer better. I never even seen the teeth to my dads box blade we always used it with out them.
Good Morning and Good Afternoon… I think I’ve seen something like on Shawn James channel or on his other channel My Self Reliance if not he still has lot of interesting videos, most of all he builds with out modern tools you get a lot of knowledge and beautiful scenery he is in Canada I think you would enjoy watching. Al if you take the tank out of the frame paint it black then put it back in it keeps the algae down . but leave a small line in the back of the tank not painted so you can see the water level
Looks like there is a ton of work involved in processing of all the vegetables on the farm, but I can imagine it's well worth the effort when you have everything at hand over the winter and it cost you next to nothing in comparison with the prices you would pay for it at the grocery store.

And Olivia's hair is getting longer and prettier every day! Gina, your broccoli looks so beautiful! I loved your enthusiasm when you displayed your finished products! very nice! VERY healthful looking, all robust and green! (smiling)
thank you for the recipe for cucumber pasta salad in an earlier video. I've been making it since then because I have tons of cucumbers in the garden. I alter it a bit, depending on what I have in the kitchen at the moment. I can't get enough. I gave some to my brother and his family is nuts for it, too. Lovely dish for a hot summer day.
when I harvest my garlic, I am going to make, for the first time, fermented garlic in honey. you put your peeled cloves in a jar, cover it in raw honey, and place lid and ferment. You need to burp it daily in the beginning and it takes about 1 year plus, but I hear it's really good. And the only thing I did with my scapes was to fry them in some oil and butter and add them to what I was cooking.
@@teresadaniels7207 it's VERY good in anything stir fry. In veggies. Some will just eat the cloves for colds and flu. I just love the garlic flavored honey in fried rice and even mashed potatoes. A little goes a long way!
All the water that was used to blanch the broccoli, once cooled you could have poured them on your plants, there’s a lot of nurturant in the water ,I do that with most of my veggie water
A good way to wash a tank that your going to use is to fill about a third of the way and drop some dawn dish soap in.. drive around and especially on the trailer and it will wash itself. Just rinse and use. Was surprised when you walked past the track in the woods that you tried to pull with the tractor... a quick grab would of put it on the side of the road. There are tons of videos showing how to make a pump from just pieces and parts... I just don't remember what I seen but it basically will push the water out of the tank and into the system you decide to use for getting water for a project. Take the wifes nylons and use for a filter for the water coming into those plastic totes. I do know that trees blow down everywhere making for free wood. So get a small wood mill from harbor freight and saw rough cut lumber for yourself. It is one of the most relaxing ways to find getting your own lumber. One or seventeen videos will start you off making lumber safely. It may seem intimidating but don't be scared, I have seen single women running them back in missouri and other states and they never lost any limbs but they built their own homes with them. I do believe in doing some studying before just wacking out some crazy boards but there are tons of them as its the new rage to do it. I watched this woman saw for a part of a day in the high heat down there and cut over a thousand dollars worth of lumber. I didn't see any trees on your place so it must of been logged a few years ago. Any spruce or other lumber trees that are around six to eight inches across the tree from side to side... not around, is big enough to make a couple 2x4's but the bigger stuff will as you can figure will make good lumber and hardwoods count too. That even will drive you crazy with how pretty the wood is and want to make tables and chairs or other stuff. Chicken tractors if nothing else. Too bad that the box blade can't be angled so you could crown the road and make the water stay to the sides. I can see you burying the tank that you took out and then running some pipe up to that tote and filling it with water and then using a pump from the internet to have free water. Also make your own electricity for the time being or as a back up to the grid. Good luck and fine eating that you lady is building
As a young person we visited friends who had a spring fed water system ran 24 hours a day into kitchen sink ,self reliance in this case was way people lived without lots of money today we have become reliant on everyone else for our basic needs, Happy 4th of July to you all, let freedom ring !
Look down on the left Hyd. arm and see if you have a leaver that screws up and down. If so you can raise one side of it up and use the lower side on the outside to raise the crown up. You will only cut deeper on the side you do not raise
Great video Thursday I did not get a chance to leave comment. You two up there for your anniversary was great. Plus tanner looked like he a lot fun too. It looked just so peaceful .
Al, why would you ever even think about going to Lowe's for lumber again? You have a forest, a tractor with a grapple and an excavator. All you need is a mill, and you have a ready supply of lumber for whatever projects you want to build in the future.
Are you building a RAM pump? If not, why not? You could easily elevate the container and pump into it 24/7, with over flow back to the creek or into an animal water tank, with over flow back to the creek. I know Wrangler Star had a video on how to build one, and I know there are lots of others, even for pumping out of a pond to live stock. A guy with your skills would have no problem building one!
How about gutters for the spring top and bottom with chicken wire then 1/4 inch opening then screen on it to catch the bugs or twigs for you or even the smaller rocks coming on down to it!!!

Good mornin' II am thinking it going to be real fun plowing that road in the winter time. The water project looks interesting. Have a great holiday weekend.
Not to hurt your feelings But using a box blade is not set the control and forget it It's focus your attention on the blade constantly adjusting for the movement of the tractor.... To maintain the road easier (Some what set it and for get it) That's the job of the land Leveler With the wheels behind. They are riding on the level of what the cutting edge just left....(if you can find a Leveler with at least two rear hydraulic rams....one to main lift and lower... The second to adjust the angle (left or right) to get the road pitch to the desired angle (say a 2% crown) Once the Leveler is riding on the desired angle the the Leveler can be readjusted..... Same as a road grader... Your tractor has all 4 wheels out in front. So the tractor is moving around Which causes the box blade to move around... That's why on grading tractors. All the links are hydraulic (Top link. Right link. Left link) So ever direction of the box scraper can be adjusted... Constantly...
When I was going to school for business I did a report on lowes. Although they have wider isles and they typically don’t use the pallet method of selling. They sell brand items at a higher coast compared to Home Depot typically there prices are slightly higher because their business model is that your paying for customer service, better marketing and the stores are designed to apeal to woman not that that is a problem except your paying for something that a business should implement already with out having to up their price. But that’s also why majority of purchasers prefer homedepo over Lowe’s. Basically save your self pennies go to homedepo if you can.
Your water table appears to be high, so I would consider a sand-point well. It has a special tip on the end and holes in the bottom section. You drive it into the ground using a tee post driver and hopefully won't hit a rock. Once you hit the water, you put a freeze-resistant hydrant on top. That might be something to consider if you want water in other areas of the property. If you are not familiar with it, try watching some videos on it. One more thing. You could load the excavator onto a trailer and tow it instead of driving it.
Wow, the excavator only goes 3mph? That is going to take a bit! Nice hover mode on the drone. Are you going to build a spring house? Nice job taking the teeth out of the box scraper. Howdy Al: If the excavator is closer to the old bulldozer tracks you wanted to use for the fire pit, now would be the time to attempt to yank 'em out! Other folks have indicated that you may have better luck with that machine rather than the TYM tractor...
Al mentioned in the other video he would use the excavator for that while he had it closer on another project. I, like you, think this might be just that other project.
Good morning from Wexford Ireland 🇮🇪
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend in the USA
Howdy Annette! Thank you! Hope you have a wonderful weekend as well!
Morning Annette ! ☕️
Goooooood Morning Ireland
Good morning Annette in Ireland 🇮🇪 ! I hope all is well with you and your family!
Good afternoon. GOD BLESS YOU
You can make the use the blade to make ditches and to make the dirt too go different ways by adjusting yours arms up and down.
May you all be safe till we see all Tuesday GOD BLESS!!!
I love to watch you guys when you have a new video. I try some of your recipes and they are so good. I can't wait for you guys to start building on the new property.
Al if you take the tank out of the frame paint it black then put it back in it keeps the algae down . but leave a small line in the back of the tank not painted so you can see the water level
Gina you look like a teenager the hairdo and shorts really agree with you. You work so hard it keeps you FOREVER YOUNG.👍💞
Gooood morning from central Florida! Hope everyone has a great day!
Good Morning Al, Gina and Olivia. I am so happy for you to get ready for more and more improvements on your new property.
Looks like there is a ton of work involved in processing of all the vegetables on the farm, but I can imagine it's well worth the effort when you have everything at hand over the winter and it cost you next to nothing in comparison with the prices you would pay for it at the grocery store.
Good morning! 👨🌾😂🇮🇪 happy productive weekend everyone. Great to see the continued progress
Goooooood Morning
Howdy Ger!
Sam Valentine morning Sam
Good morning Ger hope you're having a great day!
That’s the way a trucks back seat compartment is supposed to look. Pilled to the top of the seat with supplies for work. 👍👍👍👍
Good Morning Al, Gina and Olivia
I have learned so much watching Gina in the kitchen. She is my favorite homestead wife!
me too! However, since she is so pretty and sweet, I do wish that she could relax more in front of the camera! ! After all, Al is such a ham in front of the camera with his hands going all the time he is speaking! not to mention those goats, all who love their camera time!
Awesome!! God Bless and have a Wonderful Weekend!!!⚘😀❤
when I harvest my garlic, I am going to make, for the first time, fermented garlic in honey. you put your peeled cloves in a jar, cover it in raw honey, and place lid and ferment. You need to burp it daily in the beginning and it takes about 1 year plus, but I hear it's really good. And the only thing I did with my scapes was to fry them in some oil and butter and add them to what I was cooking.
It doesn't take a year for fermented garlic in honey at all! 6-8 weeks is fine.
What would you use fermented garlic in honey for.? Recipes please.
@@teresadaniels7207 it's VERY good in anything stir fry. In veggies. Some will just eat the cloves for colds and flu. I just love the garlic flavored honey in fried rice and even mashed potatoes. A little goes a long way!
That is so cool with the box blade I am learning a lot too.👍
Love my morning coffee watching your family
Whatever you do, have a circle drive. Beautiful view!
Brenda great idea!
The off grid water system is very interesting to me.
The grass looks awesome
As a young person we visited friends who had a spring fed water system ran 24 hours a day into kitchen sink ,self reliance in this case was way people lived without lots of money today we have become reliant on everyone else for our basic needs, Happy 4th of July to you all, let freedom ring !
Curious about the geology of your spring. Appears to be at a height of the property as springs often are.
Al you and Gina are truly blessed. Lots of work but the future looks Absolutely Bright. 🙏🙏👁👁u❣
Al, i am surprised you bought a 2/4 at lowe"s when you have leftover lumber in several places.
Gina your garlic scapes look so pretty in the jars. I'll bet they are going to be delicious. he broccoli heads were beautiful. Y'all are going to enjoy that this winter. Can't wait to see how Al makes the water thingy. He has such a creative mind. Have a Blessed day and Happy fourth of July to all.
Good morning Al and family! Never had pickled scapes but sounds delicious! Can you grow Okra up there? My mother pickled some okra and mixed in some hot peppers with it for flavor...yum! 50 plus years ago and I still fondly remember.
Good morning. Sounds like you need a beater truck and trailer to run equipment back and forth form different projects you have going on. And im sure youll expand in the future
LOL! saw your pea gravel and I am going to Menard's to get river pebbles. I have already used 20 bags and going to get 20 more! Tore down a shed and putting in the level ground!
Oh my son's loved green beans done like this as kids. I seen them get the jar out and set in the Kitchen floor and eat them right out of the jar.
It’s getting Very exciting!
On the garlic, I heard if you cut the seed top off, the energy goes to helping the garlic bulb grow larger, would be interesting to try.
Marge Littleboy ,
Yup , that's the way it's done. Those cut off tops are quite edible and useful for garlic flavoring in foods.
Good mornin' II am thinking it going to be real fun plowing that road in the winter time. The water project looks interesting. Have a great holiday weekend.
Thank goodness he has that fancy plow for his truck! ruclips.net/video/m925BoDM-go/видео.html
Not to hurt your feelings
But using a box blade is not set the control and forget it
It's focus your attention on the blade constantly adjusting for the movement of the tractor....
To maintain the road easier
(Some what set it and for get it)
That's the job of the land Leveler
With the wheels behind. They are riding on the level of what the cutting edge just left....(if you can find a Leveler with at least two rear hydraulic rams....one to main lift and lower... The second to adjust the angle (left or right) to get the road pitch to the desired angle (say a 2% crown)
Once the Leveler is riding on the desired angle the the Leveler can be readjusted.....
Same as a road grader...
Your tractor has all 4 wheels out in front. So the tractor is moving around
Which causes the box blade to move around... That's why on grading tractors. All the links are hydraulic
(Top link. Right link. Left link)
So ever direction of the box scraper can be adjusted... Constantly...
Excellent tips! ruclips.net/video/ucKFxaqWx5I/видео.html & ruclips.net/video/c00WiAPKli4/видео.html
Freezing your own homegrown broccoli is great! They look beautiful.
Thanks again u'all...!
Greenhouse looking great. Grass coming in good just a few places that might need reseeding.
Wow Gina, that broccoli looks incredible! Nice food processing. I love the idea of the pickeled garlic scapes! Thanks for this video!
Love the channel Team Dewalt! ❤ awesome job ya'll are doing with the off grid property as well. I'd asked before, but are you going to do a Jamaica Cottage Cabin or house there too? Thanks.
Broccoli is my absolute very favorite vegetable! :) Broccoli and potato will be my major growers in the garden like...all year round!
Loving watching the off grid property vids. 👏👏🇬🇧
Good morning! Oooh shopping trips in town, my fav! 😆
Howdy Agnes! One of my favs too! And getting hardware? 7th heaven! 😆
@@samvalentine3206 hi Sam 😊 any store is fun to check out!
Excited for you! Broccoli is beautiful! So happy for your family!
You need go look at setting up a Ram pump. It would be ideal for your set up and you can even pump water up hill with no power
