Thank you for doing these longer term reviews, it is nice to see the watch has been worn enough to get a few scratches 👍. I realise there isn't time to do it for every watch, but there are lots of channels where they never seem to even resize the bracelet, the review consists of a few minutes in a light box before returning to the packaging and straight onto eBay 🙄
Thank you. Every watch I buy is for my collection so they do get worn regularly. Some more than others. It is important to me to do these longer on the wrist reviews. It is the only way to really understand the watch.
🙋I'm watching James... I'd love to give some love to this beautiful San Martin save for the fact that it's missing the date complication... Its a must for me...
It's great to see San Martin making high quality cases and bracelets with Seiko movements. The original designs are starting to come on, a couple of years down the road will reveal the full company potential.
This is my favorite beater (looks much more expensive than it is, is incredibly legible, wears very well) I just wish they'd be a little more creative with the colors --- give us a burgundy option, a yellow-orange option, and a purple one .... I've got several of this model
Great watch from a great company. I’ve owned many San Martin watches over the years. Wearing the new SN0129G G-GMT as we speak. The quality of the watch is amazing frankly. The bracelet is fantastic and the quality of the finishing on the case is excellent. The dial is simply amazing. Definitely the best watch I’ve owned. Thank you for sharing. 👍
I have a couple of the San Martin PT5000 powered, 36mm "climber, explorer" watches. Fit and finish are excellent and they are both very accurate. One of them has measurements in the 6 positions on the time grapher from -1 to +2 with a mean of +0.3 sec./day! The other one is no slouch either, with a mean of +1.
The SN0121 series is a collaboration between watchdives and San Martin. In fact, some really great watches are collaborations between watchdives and San Martin, like SN004 BB58 and SN0113W2. I hope they come out with more models.
Hi james this does look incredible good quality for the money compared to the Tudor you own the Tudor so can you please do a comparison video thanks John?
Wow, that looks as nice as my BB58, and it has a better clasp! I’m not sure why the big brands can’t offer a decent on-the-fly adjustment clasp for all their watches.
I love my black version. I put on rubber like the OG. When you say endlink fitment, you are correct with pointing out the quality. I also have the Milsub SN 111g, the end links on that are the same. I pointed that out on a FB forum when someone was complaining about a CW that had about 1mm of wobble. Other forum users were saying that it was perfectly normal and the OP was being a sook.😮 if only those coffee drinkers actually looked at what you can really get. When I said the SM was better than the CW in the end links I got the usual 😂 emoji. Anyway, those that know, know..
People tend to whinge when you tell them you can get better quality for 900 quid less haha... But please mate.. Not all coffee drinkers are the same haha
Lift angle on the NH35 is 53°, not 52.. :P 11:50 Re the clasp: I have the 0109 which does have their regular, 4-hole clasp and every time I wear it and my wrist swells up, I wish it had the adjustable one. Yes: I also think their adjustable version is generally a bit too long and that the clasp on my example looks better, but it's such a nice bonus to be able to simple adjust the bracelet while you're out and about. I'm almost disappointed that you didn't go for the black variant, since that's the one I have my eye on. Neither SM nor Cronos seem to be able to pull off a BB54 homage with all the details that I'd want - plus I'm getting kinda tired of fauxtina anyway, so .. why not something more modern? The main thing that's holding me back is that they only offer this one with the Seiko movement. I'd much rather have a smoother ticking PT 5000 or even an SW200. IMO these San Martins are so well made, I could get behind the silly sounding idea of buying a Chinese homage watch with a Swiss movement in it.
This is definitely one of my favorite watches. I was wearing mine and had lunch with my brother who was wearing his Submariner (one of his many Rolex’s) and of course it wasn’t an equivalent, but it wasn’t that far off either. Hell I think the bezel action was better on the SM. Thanks!
Nice Tudor Pelagos 39 😅😬I mean San Martin 😀I am thinking of buying one of these and putting on an Erika's original blue strap I have. I think the combo will look dope.
The Pelagos 39 does not have those gorgeous inset indices. The 41 does but that is a much bigger and thicker watch. SM got the look and the dimensions of this one , spot on.
Titanium is my favorite watch material. I absolutely love it! I'm actually wearing a Titanium watch as I write this. I own nine of them now. I hope you like it.
I have the exact same watch with black dial and I definitely agree what you said about the clasp , it is too long and thick. I already feedbacked to watchdives and San Martin about this I hope they will improve the clasp in future. Also I opened the clasp and checked the mechanism inside , there is a very flimsy part inside which can cause some issues with the durability after using it for a few years. I am trying to modify that part.
I have the black vs w/no date, and I must say it gets worn a lot, san martin has been having a laugh at their uncanny ability to beat Tudor at it's own game as far as dimensions are concerned, although my 41mm Tudor fits perfectly on my wrist..On the fly adjustment should be the norm pretty soon, after they get rid of their stockpiles of clasps that lack it lol, thanks for the as always great review!!
Hi James, we exchanged comments before. And I saw 👀 you have a Ashford link…well I bought quite a few a few watches from them. And in December I ordered 3 more. When they arrived, the one I was waiting the most, orange red on black Glycine Combat sub came with a faulty broken crown. The response Ashford had to my misfortune really disappointed me. I can not return the watch to them cause I’m in Australia. You can return a faulty watch to them only if you are in the USA 🇺🇸. Sounds like ducking and weaving. Never mind that I know what to do but, still very disappointed. For people outside the USA please be warned
Oh no. That’s not ok. I’ve only had good feedback from them but never had a faulty watch. Looking at the website they say they do cover warranties but not returns. Have you contacted them on customerservice@ashford.com
Another great review of an excellent watch. Unfortunately the snowflake hands don't work for me and I have no interest in a watch without a date complication. I suspect it will be a huge seller for SM!
This one is particularly good. But you still need to like the look. Previously I did not like snow flake hands. But now I love them. Funny how tastes evolve.
That would be great if they do. But I’ve never heard that before and in my experience with them they have been performing as I would expect without them being regulated.
I really really want this watch in the titanium version, but I have 8" wrists. Too small? I know there are other options, but titanium, sapphire, gmt, 300 meter water resistance, adjustable clasp etc all for $360 Canadian - it's hard to look at anything else from SM. Thoughts?
I’ve only handled one from the brand and it was ok. But I keep hearing negative things about the brand. It would be a watch I would only consider if I could see it in person first.
I have the same watch, I disagree about the clasp, the on the fly adjustment is a main reason I bought the watch, it’s extremely handy. The only issue I find is the bezel is a bit loose and sometimes moves of its own accord
Thanks for the video. I am on a self imposed no AE watch buy. I have 2 watches I am looking to buy, and will get one of these before I buy from AE again...AE keeps taking my money and then I find a watch I am saving for, and I don't have the available funds. Likely common 1st world issue. Cheers!!!

I like this watch but is a bit small for my tastes. I bought the San Martin SN-036G which is similar to this one but is 41.5mm case width and an enamel dial. The dial on that watch was complimented by Grand Seiko wearer. It is so flawless and beautiful. Love it.
I find it hard to understand how the design is so special when its clearly a rip off of a Pelagos!? stick a Tudor logo on it and its a counterfeit watch...
The size, the materials (not titanium) the price and the quality. I love Tudor. I have the BB58. But I can’t afford and don’t want another from them. This SM ticks a lot of boxes for me and has become a great part of my varied collection. Thanks for WATCHing
