The Hoover Institution held Strengthening Trust With India: Implications of the 2008 US-India Civil Nuclear Agreement on May 6, 2024 from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm in Hauck Auditorium, David & Joan Traitel Building.

You guys got the Indian map right at 1:32 ... but then f_ⓒked it up just after more than 30 seconds at 2:04 ‼You can't show Indian territory as Pakistani! The least you had to do was to ensure the map you use shows the disputed territory of POJK (POK) as disputed like you have for Aksai Chin! You can't expect better relations with India until you actively support it's territorial integrity against Pakistan and China!
There are two rules in geopolitics

2. Never forget rule no. 1

This is a childish take. Each and every country follows it's self interest and the US does the same. The simple fact is that the US didn't see India in their self interest and right now they do. In the future they might not. We have to be smart and use our diplomacy correctly.

All must understand that Indis a great country but is not a true friend of United States. India is very adept at playing other countries against each other and dealing with whatever is strictly in Indias interests.
And your country works for other country interest and not your own?? And whats true for your country and all other sovereign countries, that is your argument, will work for its own interest, how many times have you protested complaining your country in working for its own interest and not others countries?? Sound ridiculous, it should. The only reason you might have said that earlier, is consciously or unconsciously you have colonial mindset, nothing else can explains it, most likely a superiority complex as well, the future of tomorrow your country will needs friends, to even or tip the scales, and sorry to say thats not how you win friends. And trust me a time will come in future maybe 10-15 years from now when expansionist powers will flex, and semi colonies/allies wont alone suffice you will need the friends thats India, that is provided if trust deficit can be bridged and not expanded by shallow mindset people.

I came to watch just because of Mr. Garcetti, he have little differences with us Indians but he’s good man trying to do better for India. I hope he makes our relation more fruitful then now before leaving.

As much as the US has a self-conceited view of her contribution to India's coming of age, it can't be further from the truth. The fact remains that India's dynamism in her national purpose, human potential, economic, technology, knowledge and military sectors was fuelling her rise. Besides, India already had partnership of Russia in the development and progress of nuclear technology, as well as military technology. The US was clearly being left behind in her relationship with a rising power, and a democratic one at that. However, despite the civil nuclear deal and narratives of trust, it remains clear that trust is a deficit. It's obvious that respect opens the door to trust, and trust reinforces respect. But, the US has never shown respect to India, her territorial and national integrity nor her committment to democracy and development. The US has shown more respect and trust for the ambitions and needs of a Dictatorship as opposed to a historically proven pacifist civilisation. This proves the mantle and soul of the US as a global hegemony that would corral or strike down any rising power, peaceful or not. Nations are often reminded that 'being the US's friend is fatal' as other countries have found to their detriment.
Telling two Far Lefties in Eric Garcetti and MK Narayanan are invited.
USA must focus on more and more cooperations with India...not compitition with India.
