    This Jeep is mindblowing. Loved it, the interior is just at another level and the new engine is quite impressive, turbo lag of course but plenty of power.

  • @desmondgurley
    @desmondgurley Год назад +14

    Absolutely beautiful and the L version actually looks more suited for this rectangular design. Compared to the esv or yukon XL, that is noticeably streched from the rear C pillar. The wagoneer L though is symmetric front and back, whereas the shortbase rear is cut short. I love this thing! I can see Jeep going 4xE for this b4 GM. Lol and the fact that Joe is disappointed there's no ventilated 3rd row seats just proves how much Jeep is spoiling us with luxury throughout! Great work Lori! Team Raiti's Ride hits another one out of the park!

    Great review! I ordered mine on Sep 23, your reviews were super helpful in making that decision! Still no build date. Can’t wait to get it, but my understanding is that it is a six week wait once the build date is assigned. If you order one, be prepared to wait.

    I must say in all seriousness that is quite a rig, and should be a hella hit for Jeep Division. I like the way the digital displays are actually integrated in the dash instead of just hung or tacked on. My favorite Willie Wonka scene will always be the psychedelic boat ride, and Wonka's crazy Jim Morrison-style monologue during the ride. 😂 Gene Wilder was awesome! The whole cast was great.

    Pretty sure a pair of aftermarket Magnaflow exhausts will fix the sound on that straight six 😎 I would pick this over the Denali Ultimate XL. It's amazing to see how far these King Kong SUV's have progressed over the last 20 years since the Excursion was retired. This is now the benchmark for 8 passenger pampering. More tech, more horsepower, more range, more cargo room - I'm liking it 👍👍

    • @johnc.9133
      @johnc.9133 Год назад

      @@adamwebster9784 Yeah, I was just about to say. Putting an aftermarket exhaust on this won't sound too great, and will most likely be raspy and have a very "buzz" like sound in the upper RPMs. Tough to get a nice burble from an inline 6.

  • @redbutbearhair
    @redbutbearhair Год назад +2

    I had 2 to make a decision of which engine I wanted to order. I went with the 6.4 proven and the turbo only gets 1mpg better. The turbo lagged when I tried it the 6.4 takes off.I can see big problems for a year or 2 with the inline. Just my 2 cents. Not a fan of turbos.

    • @danielshaffer7450
      @danielshaffer7450 2 года назад

      Also, I'm unsure about this, but I know not all the Wagoneer engines could turn off half the cylinders when you're cruising. That has helped a lot with fuel mileage, and I'm curious if these new engines have that capability.

    • @jaserand6001
      @jaserand6001 Год назад

      @@danielshaffer7450 One thing you have to realize with this straight 6. You not only have more power. You also don't lose that power when taking trips and you have high altitude climbs. That is one thing I miss about not having a turbo on my car. My V8 is great but higher altitude I lose that power. Not a huge deal but noticeable for sure.

    Thanks for the review. I have one of the Suburbans that had rear wheel steer from 2004. It u-turns tighter than our Lexus RX. And it reduces the side force you feel on mountain roads. But it does add 400 lbs, and a wider stance. And it wears tires a bit faster and now you cant get parts for it to align it well. But it is great for drivability and people are shocked how tight it turns. I have been waiting for another big SUV that could pull at least 10,000 lbs. This Wagoneer is the first viable option in a long time.

    I'm not sure why so many people are afraid of these turbo 6 engines. Ford has been doing it for decade now and they are all going 200k miles, 300k or more if you change the oil every 8k.
    There is nothing wrong with the hemi, but the platform is 20 years old now, they have to move on in order to meet future emissions rules. That would mean a redesign and while that may happen in another couple years for the trucks, it was a lot easier to slap another 2 cylinders onto the inline turbo 2 liter they've have for a few years.

    I currently have a straight 6 in my BMW X5 and I had a Hemi Dodge Charger with the powerful motor and i would say the inline 6 is better for a luxury and smooth experience and the big Hemi for the rumble and sound of a powerful V8. In the Grand Wagoneer, I would go with the inline 6.

    87 octane vs 91 octane on SO vs HO configuration should be a big zonkkk! Will cost more to operate the HO than the hemi.

    The dual fuel pump is a scary thing to think about having long term. No hate to statlantis, but there not the greatest at making long term reliable cars. Still would go with the 6.2 Denali

    Straight-six engines have come a long way since the 235 cu in (3.85 L) inline six "Blue Flame" engine that powered the 1st generation Corvette.

    Can’t wait to see what this engine can do towing and can’t wait to see it in the Ram. As for the Jeep, wish it had 18” wheels. The look of the vehicle just seems off to me. More rubber might make it look better.

      You can literally put any type and size wheel/tire combo you want on it. You don't have keep what comes from the factory on the car.

      @@jeffs6090 I certainly understand that but I guess my point is that every time you see a review on these, they have the 21 inch wheels and the body of the vehicle is so big it looks odd. It’s like the Shrek of the auto world, big up top but little on the bottom.

    510HP with L version is nice,…. imagine if they had the HO Hurricane in the regular Wagoneer….. the SO is definitely more than adequate power for the regular length. I bet people would pay $$$ to get the HO Hurricane in regular and L versions of the standard Wagoneer.
    If the Hurricane can provide this much HP and real world power of the Wagoneer, imagine how much they could deliver to JGC/L models with about 1000 ish pounds less weight.
