you all probably dont care but does anybody know of a way to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot the login password. I love any tips you can offer me
@Crosby Knox thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm trying it out atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Thanks Chad, now I need to go buy some big worms and hooks and try a new method of fishing. Here I am on the wagon, trying to ride out my year clean, and here you come with your temptation.
Chad I am new to your channel but that had to be one of the best instructional videos I have ever see! I have been bass fishing over 45 years and I am one of them if it ain't broke don't fix it fishermen. Worm fishing as ahold is a dieing art that produces well.
Chad I have been an avid worm fisherman for many years and consider myself pretty good with them. After watching this video I have learned MANY new things! Can't wait to get out and try them out!
Hey chad this is why I subcribed to your channel a long time ago . I haven't watched your channel because you got away from this type of information .( the reason I liked your channel in the first place ). I just retired, now I have much more time to fish .keep the info coming. Thanks for all you do. and Thanks for your service . My dad retire from the NAVY ( 26 plus years).
Wife and I are enjoying watching this video again . Being that both of us and yourself were all in the Navy she just asked me to ask you a question besides the United States where have you fished that you thought was amazing Thanks
I’ve fished in 31 countries. Singapore was amazing, Columbia was great, Scotland was unreal and I had an amazing experience in Dubai, and there were a ton of others that were trips that I will never forget.
Chad Hoover well that’s embarrassing and what I get for not proof reading haha. What size line? I get nervous btw too light of line l to hold up to flipping into trees and then too heavy that it’s seen..
Thanks for all you do for Kayak fishing. I sold my bass boat to Kayak fish. You helped me the whole way buying yak and knowing what I needed. It's very appreciated. Also did you say 139 bass over 10lbs!?!?!? That's off the charts impressive bro! Thanks again for all you do!
Yessir. But I have to say that for a long time I had an unfair advantage because I was kayak fishing in places no one could get to and there also weren’t that many people kayak fishing. It almost felt like I was cheating at times
Where does one get the large sized hooks? All I can find is 5/0, and occasionally a 6/0. Thanks for the tips. I downsized this on a spring fed creek with the 7.5” FatMax Culprit and caught 12 , 1-2 lbs in 45 minutes.
Thank you for the big worm video. Hard bottom = Heavy weight. What is your definition of heavy? Mustad has a Big Bite offset worm hook with the grip pin. 6/0 to 8/0 sizes. Would these work when you don't want to use an EWG hook?
Great video. Thanks! The cloths pin for beads is great. I’ve got those things all over the place. I never thought to put a partial bend on the bottom of the Tokyo rig. I’ve lost so many of those cause that weight got hung up.
I've always been afraid of having such a large profile for a bass to strike. How is the hookup ratio in comparison to other soft plastics that are not near as long?
Sir, If you're still looking for ideas and suggestions. Ive seen the buying Your first kayak video and it does give perspective. Putting together a basic starter kit for kayak fshing based on cost i.e. $200 kit, $500 kit, $1000 kit etc will definitely help when trying to budget out a course of action on gear. Do a basic TA 50 layout and really give us who are trying to get into the sport an idea what right looks right. Thanks in advance and you really don't know how much I appreciate your videos! V/R -Jason
These are my favorite videos! I have been fishing as long as I can remember and it’s amazing to me that there is ALWAYS something new to learn. Thanks for all you do for the sport of Kayak Bass Fishing.
I like the long-form Chad. A lot more information in those rather than just click on the surface slam bam thank you ma'am. If you know what I mean. And as a long time worm fisherman I thought I knew it all! I picked up something that retrieve of yours. I've always put my hand on the real give it a couple of spins bump bump spin bump bump spin I think yours probably gives a worm a little more action in place than mine does and that might mean the difference. Thanks for the tip! See you at the NC.
Good content especially regarding the mechanics of the retrieve. Please do more like this. A lot of the places I fish have dirty water and soft bottom. This was very helpful.
I have the same St. Croix rod with an Abu Revo Svx(6.6:1). My Rod is a medium-heavy, moderate fast. Is this too "slow" to effectively throw soft plastics, worms, etc? It's rated for 3/8 oz to 1-1/4 oz weights. I'm also BRAND NEW to baitcasting, so I'm still learning there.
Great vid- have you considered time stamping educational videos like this in case one wants to skip ahead to a particular section of your comprehensive guide?
Do you ever care about speed? A faster fall in grass to maybe create a reaction bite in the summer? Reason I ask is a feel a lot of pros wants speed in the summer?
Awesome and informative Video Chad, love these kind of rigging and technique type videos in addition to your actual fishing vids. Please keep these types of videos coming and thanks for sharing your knowledge. Don PS: sounds like you’re speaking from experience on the “ don’t point the juice at your face” tip. 🤣😂🤣
First off, I've caught some BIG fish using 10" worms! It works. But, using one hand to hold and crank the reel using the star drag is genius. Frees up your other hand to use the paddle. I was doing this today in the wind. SUPER helpful. Great tip!!
BK hands lol, Love the video Chad! I love fishing with a worm but never really knew the what, when and why to change the rig. Thanks for breaking it down so even I could understand it. Looking forward to the 3Ws of fishing lizards.
I fish a Magnum worm ALOT! Texas rig with a glitter bead, and 1/2 ounce tungsten is deadly. Recently just put up a almost 7# in a tournament up here in Maine. It was my only board sizable fish out of the 8 hours fishing, and was within the first 15 minutes of fishing that rig. I also use a MH fast 7'1" spinning rod. Saves the arms, and idk a bit easier for me... I also personally make a 18" ribbon worm which is a 1/2" wide. The things a beasttttttt!
@@FishinwithGRAMPS :D Not always. I fish some pretty clear water, and I've seen some 20"+ fish nip "just the tip" of the tail and spit it out after a min or so.
Chad, Great rundown on fishing for #HawgZillas with #Magnumworms. Adding a bead has made all the difference in attracting the the fish especially at night. If your fishing the good stuff your going to get hung up, I will always sacrifice a cheap weight for the total rig.

Love the in depth instructional and the fishing trip videos!! What like size do you normally go with?
What size what?

Thanks for the info. Learned some good info.
Solid work Chad! Back to your roots!
Great fishing
ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO!! I did not see the post to the leader/Albright knot. How long is your leader/location of the tuft from the worm??
Usually between four to six feet
Thank you professor. this is an excellent video.

Yes on the Big Bite Worm Hook.
I consider heavy anything over 1/4 Oz in most cases. If there is wind and current then it’s more like 1/2 Oz
Chad Hoover Thanks!!
Also great video and super informative
Great video Chad! Question when it comes to big strait tail worms like bull worms do you like to throw those on a Texas Rig or Carolina rig?
Excellent video . Full of answers . Wife says she think's she'll try a big worm this weekend .
( Nope don't , don't go there ) LOL ...Thanks

Honestly I think it’s even better than a small bait when they hit it they hit it to kill it in most cases.
