I'm so sad she never got any remarkable solo from Abby, I really enjoy JoJo's dancing but she was very underused
Jojo looks so beautiful like this. She is so simply dressed with no bows and it shows her real beauty. Don't get me wrong, Jojo looks awesome with all the bows and glamour, etc. but she really did stand out in this and looked so graceful in her improv.

+Trinity Corpuz seriously! when I first saw this I gained so much more respect for her. its crazy her improv shows her off so much better than that we see on the show. she also always kills it in hip hop in my opinion

Just think, this was completely improved, and got 3rd. Nia's piece was choreographed weeks ahead and didn't even place. Jojo is being greatly overlooked
MusicNguyens but you also have to keep in mind that Nia's in the teen category and Jojo isnt.. and Everyone said that Nia got 3rd in her category but they didn't put it on the show.

This dance is so underrated seeing as she did this as an improv solo. Her lines, extensions, feet, toes, legs ect are amazing considering her strong suit is usually hip hop and she didn't really do any lyrical/technical dances on the show. Again, this is really overlooked and she deserves more credit for it.

kulani desimone All the girls (besides Nia and Jojo) were late because they were at a dance convention called Jump. So, Abby gave Nia Kalanis solo, and had Jojo improv on stage. Both were unprepared, and Nia only had the time before she went on stage to practice and learn it. Nia did not place, while Jojo had gotten 3rd. But the group dance in this episode did place 1st. :)

this was INSANELY talented for an improv solo (AND THOSE LINEEEES)
why did she do a improv solo?
AB Blog She was thrown in last minute
One of the other girls were supposed to do a solo, but they were late to the competition and couldn't do their solo. It was to late to pull the solo from the competition, so Abby replaced it with Jojo. Jojo did an improv dance because she had no time to practice an old dance, or let alone prepare a new one.

Nia was competing in the teen category and placed 3rd I believe, but it wasn't aired. JoJo was competing in the junior category.
But yeah JoJo is very underrated

the fact that she did all of that, was able to express the songs emotions AND she didn’t get repetitive is amazing
ONLY repetitive thing that I noticed (and I was curious to see if there was a comment about it), was this arm motion she did.
See 0:04 for the first example.
I counted that she did it at least 10x, maybe 11. Only nitpick I had as it was barely distracting, but for an improved piece, sometimes you do have those default motions, but that does not take away from everything else she did, because this was fantastic!

Abby was all wrong when she said jojo was not good at contemporary/lyrical dance.She actually improvised.That showed she was thinking too much when she was learning that solo.She looked like Sophia Lucia all the way

This is amazing! If I were to do improv I'd probably just do a bunch of ariels, long turns then not know what to do next and run off the stage 😂

They’re so hard to get right when you’re first learning 😅
I think that this solo was simply flawless, she did an improv and was better than Abby's choreography I know that she got the 3rd place, and in my opinion is amazing have a 3rd place with an Improv, but she didn't get enough credit, Jojo is an amazing dancer but is very underrated and that's too sad.
And by the way, pardon my bad english, if i made any mistake please tell me.

This is improv yet still has so much emotion and you can feel a story behind it. So basically jojo is a great choreographer.

Obviously the judges didn't know that she was improving so..
She was incredible and considering this is an last minute add to the competition and she improved it it was great choreography
I've never seen jojo do such a simple dance that was so amazing. She's just in a plain black leopard and her hair is in a simple bun and the dance was so good

Her improv was more complicated than Abby's choreography. It showed what she can truly do like side aerial, toe rise, leg extension. Abby always gave the difficult parts to Kalani or Brynn without challenging her other pupils or showing off their capabilities (Nia can do a scorpion but never got to present it). Even Maddie, who is a talented dancer and always at the center, never showed extremely difficult moves (and I bet she can). Abby always plays it safe.
whenever I watch this solo, I forget that it’s jojo at some points. we never got to see anything like this from her other than in this IMPROV solo

jojo actually had a lot of potential and we can see that in this really well. she was pretty fluid and her technique (though there were a few habitual errors) was pretty decent. i wish she got proper training!

I think it helped she new the song before hand, but I know she definitely made it up at the competition. Abby had her improve to the song before she went on stage.

Jojo did really well! I was quite impressed by the technique leaps and flexibility! And she got 3rd with an improv solo! That does not happen everyday. She did repeat a few moves though. Other than that best solo she has done on the show!
I would have never known she was improving if the title didn’t say anything!
