@@EzequielLFriscia every magic keyboard I have seen is peeling on the edges especially by the hinge.this is an issue and people should've complained especially with such a high price. It's just bad design and cheap material Meyer. It should've had a more durable material and edged should've been rolled it's simple common sense engineering
@@Crowley14 I’m with you. I just downloaded the newest update they came out with a few days ago and I’ve noticed no lag. I think they fixed that bug. So far it’s been perfect and I use my keyboard a lot.
I don’t know why they don’t just use a smart connector instead of Bluetooth. Apple is okay with third party devices using it because my Logitech keyboard has a smart connector and it works flawlessly

I have the Brydge Pro+ for the 11 inch and for the 12.9 inch iPad Pro and the New Firmware update has now made equal to the Magic Keyboard I have on the 12.9 inch iPad Pro 2020. I am now using the Brydge all the time and the 11 inch iPad Pro 202o that I use to run Betas on has only the Brydge and both are more like a MacBook Pro. The Keys on the Brydge to me are much better than the keys on the Magic Keyboard. All the Gestures work like you would expect then too work well done Brydge this is the keyboard with trackpad it should have been from the beginning.
@@luccardi. It is okay it is not to small but just a bit smaller that the Magic Keyboard. Now the Air Max for the 11 inch dose have a big track pad and have it on pre order for my 2020 11 inch iPad Pro.

If this was made with the smart connector, this is a solid buy. No smart connector, not dice. Maybe they will make one with smart connector, a solid hinge (not the floppy hinge of the Logitech's version), actually F1-F12 (not just the functions to control volume etc) and then the final feature I would like is the ability to detach the keyboard section from the screen section. Like how the Logitech's version detaches BUT with a solid hinge instead of Logitech's floppy hinge. The floppy hinge is poor for true lapabilty. Yes. That is a word. The last feature I mention is not the same as removing the iPad from the magnetic back because you can still have the magnetic back protecting the iPad if you lay it flat on a table to write or draw on.
I just got this for my Gen 3 pro and I haven’t noticed any lag on either the keys or trackpad. It feels like a product that came strait from apple, The only thing I think most people would be displeased with is the weight. When reviewers say its a bit heavy they aren’t kidding. When my ipad is attached it weighs significantly more than my wife’s MacBook Air. Personally I don’t care and its really essential to hold up the ipad. I highly recommend this product if anyone is on the fence.

Apple only released rights for Logitech to use the smart connector. No other company has a license to create accessories using the smart connector on the iPad Pro. Brydge legally cannot make this happen without being shut down by apple.
@@AdrianGabrysz correct but apple allows companies to apply for a license, but it comes with a fee. Logitech is just the only company that has deemed it worth it. Which is bizarre to me given how picky we apple users are. I think this keyboard would be a no-brainer for any iPad user if they had just paid to get a smart connector license from Apple. However, I am also very surprised that still to this day (with the 2021 iPad Pro with the M1 inside now) that apple has not made the magic keyboard with the exact trackpad as what is in the MacBooks with haptics, smooth glass, and large enough to actually use (esp. since the size of the track is one of things people say they love the most about MacBooks).
@@HeyItsHades I honestly feel like it is intentional. Apple would want to keep the Mac and iPad as different devices, else a lot more people would just get the iPad with a keyboard. Which also makes me feel like they would not give license to Brydge: the keyboard makes the iPad work/feel a lot more like a Mac. Apple would want you to buy a Mac for that feeling, not an iPad.
I’m still worried about the Bluetooth latency problem and also do all the iPad OS gestures work as expected Lastly pre ordering a Brydge product is also dubious. They never meet there estimated ship dates

How is the battery? On the Brydge website, it states the keyboard can last for 20 hours with the backlight on. But it doesn't specify how long is going to fully charge the keyboard. Also, I don't think they have pass-through charging since they are not using the smart connector, right?
Thank you for the review. How far back does it open? Can it go flat on the table? Sorry if I missed that in the review. I have an older Brydge keyboard with a 9.7 iPad Pro and I can lay it almost flat if I need to take up to talk on a podium.
My biggest complaint with clamshell style devices eg laptops or this combo is palm rejection. It’s pretty good on a Mac...at times. There are always lots of phantom touches you still have to deal with that just aren’t an issue on a desktop.
Palm rejection is absolutely my biggest concern with this huge trackpad. I have the current latest keyboard by Brydge and it struggles in this department. I can only imagine it will be much more pronounced with this massive trackpad. The benefit of the tiny MKB trackpad is that palm rejection is of zero concern
Yeah! I wanna get the 11 inch version, hopefully the trackpad is proportionally bigger compared to the 11 inch magic keyboard. This trackpad looks so much more useable.
I’m going to try this out and see how good it actually it is. I’ll give it however long Brydge has for a return policy and if I like it I’ll keep it and if not I’ll send it back.
Never had a drawing mode. You just remove the iPad from the keyboard for drawing. The difference is you no longer get the magnetic back so naked iPad for drawing.
They could have done a smart connector… Might have to pick this up to try tho. Had a byrdge case for my 2018 11in iPad Pro.. but dumbed it for a logi FolioTouch.. like that case because it had the connector, but dislike the kick stand, especially when I’m laying in bed.. Very informative review so thanks for posting. Appearance-wise, I love this thing! HOWEVER, the Bluetooth interface doesn't appeal to me. I love the large trackpad but the overall thickness combined with the iPad is a detractor. I also noticed that the slightest tapping on the keyboard causes a little jiggle of the iPad. Finally, when you said they would apply their logo to the backside, this turned me off. Notwithstanding, if some post-production reviews are positive, I could change my mind.

I am gonna order this as soon as possible. I literally ordered the Pro+ a few days before this Max+ was announced... And I'm immediately returning the Pro+ to change to this one! I can't believe they did this to me. Either way, I can't seem to find any information weather or not this trackpad is a diving-board design (like the pro+), or if it's close to what Apple makes with it being clickable anywhere even at the top of the trackpad. Either way, it's a buy from me regardless of if it uses Bluetooth or not!

Why is it that making a third-party keyboard with a smart connector doesn’t seem to happen? It’s always via Bluetooth. Is the technology to make that happen cost prohibitive for third-party vendors? I’m usually not a big trackpad person, I always prefer a mouse, but I like its design. If it weren’t for the absence of a smart connector, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
Those hinges always kept me from considering them. Now they're gone, so I'm interested. Edit: In the future, allow us to hear the keyboard sound without that voice over etc, it's a keyboard review.
You should show to people how hard it is to snap the ipad into the inserts. Most beautiful case in my opinion. Connectivity is poor so it is a let down if you want to buy.
Why is everyone obsessed with the smart connector? Bluetooth 5.0 has good to no lag at all, just take AirPods for example, they work just fine with Bluetooth and it is no problem to pair multiple devices at a time with bluetooth 5.0. If it does everything the magic keyboard does, why bother?
Any lag is just not good enough. I love the hardware and would have ordered it now if it used the Smart Connector.
As a Magic Keyboard owner, and soon former, I hate the damn silicone. Smudges everywhere and peels too on the hinges / back area.

I have the Surface Pro X version and latency is no longer an issue. iPad gestures in beta but works well. Shortage of supply so expect delays.
I am very happy with my Brydge Max+ on my 12.9 2021 M1 iPad Pro still have the Brydge Pro+ on the 2020 12.9 iPad Pro.

I think it deserves a try, I have an old Surface pro Brydge with trackpad that wasn't even designed for my iPad and it's super responsive.

Why is everyone obsessed with the smart connector? Bluetooth 5.0 has good to no lag at all, just take AirPods for example, they work just fine with Bluetooth and it is no problem to pair multiple devices at a time with bluetooth 5.0.
If it does everything the magic keyboard does, why bother?
