How is a day of work in a mine driving trucks? Dump trucks driving into an open-pit mine

It is not for everyone, it is for the few who like to be surrounded by machinery and giant trucks every day.
A miner works with machinery to extract coal and minerals and bring them to the surface.
There seems to be a misconception in the wider community that there is something attractive or good about mining jobs other than pay.
But for someone in the career of the refining, mining construction, and production industries, you can emphatically state that mining jobs are tough jobs.
It wasn't always this way, but jobs in mining have become less and less desirable in the last 20 years.

Big $$$ comes later in life. Been driving 34 years and I'm earning $44 hour working 60 hours week. Sunday is double time........

It depends most mining operators have to train you from the ground up if your in the us you have a minimum amount of hours before you can legally operate a haul truck on your own

I got a job at a stone quarry.. union job..my very first day I had to watch like a 5 hour safety video. Then right after that I was put into a truck. Someone was with me obv. For 3 days I had someone with me then after that I was on my own. Don't need no special license or certain amount of hours etc..I just have my driver's license. We have 3 770g trucks. There only 40 ton trucks but we get loaded anywhere from 50-60 tons though. We shouldn't but the boss says fill em as much as possible. At some point they wanna get rid of those and get the 100 ton trucks because their building a brand new entire rock crusher n everything. Couple more years til it's done though.
