This is a revisit where I take better photos and cinematography to the abandoned luxury hotel opened in 1963. In 1996 the Hachijo Royal Hotel reopened as the Pricia Resort, which closed in August 2003 to re-open in 2004 as the Hachijo Oriental Resort. When the tourism boom came to an end, it struggled to attract guests and finally closed in 2006. The island is probably most famous as a diving spot, a tiny island that no one visits anymore.

This is a revisit where I take better photos and cinematography to the abandoned luxury hotel opened in 1963. This is also the last episode to the Japan Ronin Series! ;( But no worries they will be more Japan series to come!

I’m not sure what is more disturbing. Seeing a place as this that is undisputed or a place that has been trashed. This place is sad either way, as it was from years ago and no one seems to care. As usual Steve, your amazing photography and videography bring a certain peace to these places. Thanks for the memories.

I loved this hotel when you explored 2 years ago! Lot more nature decay but......it still has it's beauty! Loved the restaurant with all the beautiful sushi plates n bowls. Just pissed me off that people destroy n not respect the property. But someone has moved around things n put into piles. Just amazingly beautiful Steve! Another great video. Frame 5:39 Nice photo love the red sofa, and I definitely do not remember this room. I like to look at everything the first time, back tracking the past. But daylight tends to put limits on how much our eyes can see, before it sets. So revisiting will show me something new, or shed new light on the old differently.

18:16 Spotted the furnace power socket for an electric fire in the left side of the fireplace. I figure that they had wood for show on one end, and a pile of fiberglass logs glowing on the other.

It's so weird how some rooms are absolutely trashed by nature & some still look perfect!
i guess its cuz the side towards the sea gets the heavy rain into broken windows and the backside gets none.

I have always been attached to this kind of building、especially those who have to develop the economy of a region。Each time I am in front of this hotel、I bow to him because something tells me that his soul is somewhere and he is waiting to see people and take care of him。It would still be recoverable、even if it could be converted into permanent residence while keeping its historical aspect。
