    I only just found your channel yesterday and I’ve been watching your videos ever since! I am obsessed with abandoned places (photos, videos and history) but find few channels I can ‘binge watch’ due to excessive talking (cursing), poor content, etc. I’m so excited to have found your channel! The respect you show for the abandoned places as well as the information you provide is a pleasure to watch. IMO. SUBSCRIBED!!!! You’ve gained a new fan! All the best........

    Update: my husband said it would be very costly to retrofit pipes for water, sewer, and run electric throughout the entire house, barn and out buildings. It is almost entirely concrete and requires digging up concrete floors for drainpipes, toilets, etc and drilling into the walls for light switches, etc. Then there is the problem that there may not be electric poles running electric to the area. The movie company probably had generators.
    My original comment:
    It could have been auctioned or sold immediately after production was over and developed into a community. A hotel/country Club with homes a food store and variety of shops. This building being a hotel with a Country club membership for a expansive golf course on all this acreage. The hotel open to tourists and a development of homes for families who want to live in the suburbs away from the city.
    How hard is that? You have a world wide auction house list it in all countries. Surely people with money would buy an almost complete mansion. Ready for personalization.
    I hate to see all the beautiful exterior and some completed interior work be vandalized and left to decay. Sad... What a waste. Just a short 8 years and that kind of vandalism; getting worse every year. 😩

    • @dawn7612
      @dawn7612 4 года назад +1

      The amazing thing was that the movie trailer looks like they didn't use many parts of the inside of the house. What a waste if that was true if the whole movie. 😲

    Wow so European looking ... not what I expected at all. Some features on the doors and the wrought iron on the smaller balconies give it away but wow - all that for the sake of entertainment and just left to rot. So glad you got to share it with us! Thank you Steve!

    So, there are two versions (that I’ve seen) of Dangerous Liaisons, one was filmed in England starring Glenn Close, Uma Thurman, Adam MalCovich (sp?) , Keanu Reeves, that one was filmed in 1988, the other version was filmed in Japan (this one) if you watch trailers of both versions, you will see that this particular building has remnants of the movie that was filmed in Japan. Pretty neat to see how amazing and beautiful the site was during filming. Sad that so much money went in to such an amazing structure only to be left abandoned.

      YES! I just caught it myself. at :52 play on the trailer keep your finger on the pause button it is a short scene but you see the back of the house with the glass encased pool, and the other dome in the roof from the distance. The movie was a 2012 production. Thank you Angelle Hull! I needed closure and you gave it to me. : )

    It would be difficult to have made it into a home or hotel now. 100% you can tell it was an expensive movie prop. If you watch it again you will see there are no outlets, switches, lighting, mechanical/plumbing in 99% of the building. That would cost a fortune to retrofit after the building was built.

    • @fishbonetrunk6645
      @fishbonetrunk6645 4 года назад

      True but it is amazing, that they did all that for a movie. Renovating still would be profitable as it looks old but all is made from concrete. It would make a nice Spa or retirement home.

    I think I heard you say, ..."this house was built for the move." This mansion may have been *used in 'Dangerous Liaisons' (2012) shot in three separate places in China. However, I don't think a mansion would have been built exclusively for the purpose of shooting a movie--it would not be cost effective. Places are rented for movie use, and facades and sets are built.

    Can't believe that place was built for a movie,gosh I live in a rented trailer with all my 17 fur babies that I rescued from the streets,and this huge place just wasting away!!

    Seems to be a very expensive, build for just a movie set. Why not use an abandoned castle/mansion already built? Especially, considering it appears to have cement walls, something that will last for a very very long time. I guess I don't get it, only built for a movie set? No one has actually ever lived inside it? Crazy. Great video Steve. Thank you for sharing.

    My brother built and worked on multiple movie sets. That is not built like a movie set. I wonder if the studio found it and repaired/updated it.

    I've watched the Chinese movie " dangerous liaison" made me cry. Well the mansion looks even better in real than in the movie. Very sad story

    Ever hear of Tartaria and Phonecians? The "temple" that is not a temple may be a free energy structure. I don't believe that was built for a movie, the cost and labor for that type of structure wouldn't make any financial sense. I love your work! Thanks!
