I am watching this now
I been waiting for China series YES🎊🎉🎈🏆
AWESOME
Enjoyed this fab house such a shame its left. The pool house alone must have cost the earth
Yeyyyyyyy my RUclips husband is bk💋♥️💋
This place is absolutely beautiful, I can only imagine how spectacular it was before any decay or dust settled in.
First thing I noticed was NO Graffiti on the walls! Even tho everything has been weathered and unkempt.
It shows graffiti at 11:35.
Amazing structure. Built mostly of concrete. Beautiful forming job. A parking highrise made with mansion windows. A credit to the craftsmen that built it. A waste to let sit and deteriorate.
I only just found your channel yesterday and I’ve been watching your videos ever since! I am obsessed with abandoned places (photos, videos and history) but find few channels I can ‘binge watch’ due to excessive talking (cursing), poor content, etc. I’m so excited to have found your channel! The respect you show for the abandoned places as well as the information you provide is a pleasure to watch. IMO. SUBSCRIBED!!!! You’ve gained a new fan! All the best........
Gorgeous to say the least. Loved this one so much. What a huge waste of something so incredible! Thank you
Update: my husband said it would be very costly to retrofit pipes for water, sewer, and run electric throughout the entire house, barn and out buildings. It is almost entirely concrete and requires digging up concrete floors for drainpipes, toilets, etc and drilling into the walls for light switches, etc. Then there is the problem that there may not be electric poles running electric to the area. The movie company probably had generators.
My original comment:
It could have been auctioned or sold immediately after production was over and developed into a community. A hotel/country Club with homes a food store and variety of shops. This building being a hotel with a Country club membership for a expansive golf course on all this acreage. The hotel open to tourists and a development of homes for families who want to live in the suburbs away from the city.
How hard is that? You have a world wide auction house list it in all countries. Surely people with money would buy an almost complete mansion. Ready for personalization.
I hate to see all the beautiful exterior and some completed interior work be vandalized and left to decay. Sad... What a waste. Just a short 8 years and that kind of vandalism; getting worse every year. 😩
The amazing thing was that the movie trailer looks like they didn't use many parts of the inside of the house. What a waste if that was true if the whole movie. 😲
Hey, do you know where this mansion is located?
China has an entire city that is uninhabited....
@@KaLiGr what the name of the movie? Couldn't understand the man saying it.
@@kaylarodrigue8943 he meant Dangerous Liasiations
Awesome as always, my 4yr old granddaughter loved the video! She loves princess castles
Nice video Steve. Great footage from you and your drone! Keep up with your excellent explores!
This place is beautiful! Looking forward to more! Also, I really like that you point out/promote the equipment you use. Not all explorers do that and that's fine. It's one of the things I like about your videos.
I have been waiting for this series! Loved it, especially the Garden Pool Room. The architecture is not what I expected, pleasantly surprised. Looking forward to the rest of the series. 💕
Wow so European looking ... not what I expected at all. Some features on the doors and the wrought iron on the smaller balconies give it away but wow - all that for the sake of entertainment and just left to rot. So glad you got to share it with us! Thank you Steve!
So, there are two versions (that I’ve seen) of Dangerous Liaisons, one was filmed in England starring Glenn Close, Uma Thurman, Adam MalCovich (sp?) , Keanu Reeves, that one was filmed in 1988, the other version was filmed in Japan (this one) if you watch trailers of both versions, you will see that this particular building has remnants of the movie that was filmed in Japan. Pretty neat to see how amazing and beautiful the site was during filming. Sad that so much money went in to such an amazing structure only to be left abandoned.
Awesome thank you for the information!!!!
Angelle Hull. It is John Malkovich
YES! I just caught it myself. at :52 play on the trailer keep your finger on the pause button it is a short scene but you see the back of the house with the glass encased pool, and the other dome in the roof from the distance. The movie was a 2012 production. Thank you Angelle Hull! I needed closure and you gave it to me. : )
Seems crazy to build that just for Movies, its too beautiful
It would be difficult to have made it into a home or hotel now. 100% you can tell it was an expensive movie prop. If you watch it again you will see there are no outlets, switches, lighting, mechanical/plumbing in 99% of the building. That would cost a fortune to retrofit after the building was built.
True but it is amazing, that they did all that for a movie. Renovating still would be profitable as it looks old but all is made from concrete. It would make a nice Spa or retirement home.
I wondered if the building quality was subpar knowing it was built solely for a film.
Mark, you are probably right.
Suzy, it didn't seem to be, but very possible.
I really enjoyed the tour of this magnificent mansion and glad you recovered your drone!
Love your explores… thank you so very much. This place is Amazing!
By far, one of my favorites shots you've put out! So magical and beautiful! Thank you, Steve! Great to see you back in action! Stay well, friend 💞
I think I heard you say, ..."this house was built for the move." This mansion may have been *used in 'Dangerous Liaisons' (2012) shot in three separate places in China. However, I don't think a mansion would have been built exclusively for the purpose of shooting a movie--it would not be cost effective. Places are rented for movie use, and facades and sets are built.
I wasn't really sure what you would find abandened in China. But this one rocks Steve! The couple you teamed up show great passion for the craft. My fave was the pool! I'm going to watch the movie DL soon to compare the too. I'm ready for the next explore! Stay safe and God bless.
That place was huge ! looking forward to the rest of your China series and great video Steve
I would love to see more video of this place. It was so huge it felt like too much was missing.
Steve thanks for the vids. You have shown us some really beautiful places in the world. Stay safe and keep them coming.
Hello I suggest that, when filming this type of large hotels or mansion in the dark, turn on the camera light and make the video more detailed, showing more details, so it seems to have the sensation of incomplete video. I think that this type of video deserves more time and detailed ... thanks
also, I don't cae what kind of equipment he uses, I'd rather he buys a light. If I wanted to learn film making, I'd watch a video on film making'
Literally seen you on TickTock had to come check it out for myself 💕💕
Wow great find, another great video. Your videos never disappoint, Thank you
Means a lot Terry! I'm so happy you enjoyed it!
Loved this explore! It reminded me of pictures of Cinderella's castle! Thank you for sharing!
Sameee
the small domed room was usually a sitting room
eading room ect for the feel of being outside when it was not possible or something like that
Someone SHOULD fix it back up and live in it again.
Not one person's home. It takes too much staff to run. Not to mention utilities. I didn't see a kitchen come to think of it...
You need your own tv show...I always enjoy your tours.
They should fix this place up for a wedding venue or even a home! This would be a beautiful place to get married at and even live. Great video friend, much love fr eastern Kentucky
I think a wedding venue is a great idea! I wonder how bad the structural damage is?
This was a cool exploration video. Honestly- what a breath taking estate. It’s so sad that it is falling to ruins. It’s truly beautiful!! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for exploring for us.that place is beautiful.
Alot of people think that someone at the age of 46 couldnt or think it's weird to look up to and young man thats my daughter's age.. anyway I'm want to tell u what an inspiration u r to me I'm new into photography and u have inspired me to really enjoy taking pictures more then I did before I watch ur videos all the time and think ur great at what u do thank you for showing the world such beautiful places that sadly most just sit and rot away .. keep on keeping on ... Thank you .. K.Pelser
This is by far my favourite video. Thanks Ronin! Look forward to your next adventures!
Is that the Cinderella movie castle
that was on television in 1950's
Starbucks Corporation is an American coffee company and coffeehouse chain. Starbucks was founded in Seattle, Washington, in 1971
My bad lol idk what I was thinking at the time
@@SteveRonin LOL No worries, I thought it was funny actually, you have done so much traveling in 2019, I bet there are times you have to stop and think before you can say your own name lol
We know. Who cares. 🙄
14:23 those legs give *"do you ever feel -- like a plastic bag?"* ... vibes
Oh my Goodness that place is so magical
Thank you very much
Awesome.... love that you put nice music as background. Well presented
So glad you are home.
Omg 😱 how on earth would anyone fill that size of home, every bit of my future would only take up a Conor of that house...
Hello young man,I'm so happy your safely back visiting family and friends, this vid was AMAZING in every way👍🏻🙏🏻👍🏻
It's really crazy thats only building like a movie set. How many money are in the World? Once have it, others no! Best regards from Germany
Steve that was a great place !! I wish it had lots of stuff and history!!! Tooo bad it was only for a movie set . But it was beautiful!!!
Thank you so much Ronda!!!
Just came across your video. Loved every second! Your camera system is excellent!
I was just watching video trailers for the movies, and I don't understand how such a BEAUTIFUL MANSION detiourates (sp) in just a few years
What movie bro, what was the title?
Dangerous Laiason China 2012
Did he say the movie was called Dangerous Liasons ?thats a great movie it has Zhang Ziyi in it from memoirs of a geisha and rush-hour and crouching Tiger hidden Dragon
He said he Chinese dangerous relationships?
Yes I heard that but it basically means dangerous liaisons which is a great movie
Thanks for that info. It sounds like a winner! 🙌🏼🍃🤗
Another beautiful job Steve Thanks so much for showing this Cinderella like castle along with her carriage how beautiful!!😃
I'm continually blown away with the amazing locations you find. How do you not have your own network show by now ? Like Travel Channel doesn't know what they are missing. 😮
swimming pool needed more view full view ,leaving that the house is beautiful i am imagining cinderella and family how they lived in it
nice videography
Amazing content 👍
Have a blessed day 🙏
Wow where you there during the beginning of coronavirus? Thank god you are safe.
I love the video. Beautiful place
My Dad has built sets for the movie industry (1970’s) and typically they don’t build to this quality and sets are facades. This is unbelievable and such a beautiful .. mansion .. LOL! 😆 just for a movie? I can’t fathom it.
You are the stuff real men are made of. Thank You for being real
Very amazing video well done and keep up the great work
If I knew you were coming to my place I would have cleaned the place up and baked a cake 🤪👍
Im glad I fond you via Josh..you are an intelligent and thoughtful person and your vids keep getting better and better!!!! love and peace from San Francisco!
You look so well and healthy in this vid Steve!!
I do not know which is more beautiful, the movie set or your video °~.♡.~°
Beautiful enormous structure what a terrible waste. Thanks for the video and your adventures spirit. 🤗
No matter what, I wasn't to see all of it. Great video and amazing drone shots.
Wow. Because of you I also want to travel, enjoy life and film. You make everything so fun and great. Thanks. I am inspired by you.
I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO SEE MORE OF THE SWIMMING AREA.....
I love the drone footage..😊🙌
thank you for ur video
sorry i am behind on your video's but i loved this one it was Awesome great job
👨💻💭2020 watching your videos > RUclips a bit late 🤷♂️🤣👍
This is by far one of the most beautiful abandoned places I've seen so far.
Need more light so we can really see everything
Yes more light
Hi I’m glad to watch your video sue From Australia
You mention being in China in December. So glad you got out before covid19 spread
One very nice thing to say about China. In the USA every inch of space would be covered in spray paint.
I don’t know how you do it. Please explain how you keep your building clean of spray paint.
Que mansão linda, uma pena estar destinada a ser consumida pelo tempo! Eu fico pensando na vida luxuosa de quem morava nela!
This place is really super cool! Thanks for sharing this!
Of coarse we watched to the end! You never disappoint!! It was beautiful!
Steve what movie was the building from. I couldn't hear him when he told you. Great video , I can't believe they did all that work for a movie. Heck i would have moved in after they finished filming lol. Ps Starbucks started in Seattle.
Dunno if you saw, but there's a comment above that says it was called Dangerous Liasons :)
@@stephk5797 no I didn't . Thank you very much.
Can't believe that place was built for a movie, gosh I live in a rented trailer with all my 17 fur babies that I rescued from the streets, and this huge place just wasting away!!
Seems to be a very expensive, build for just a movie set. Why not use an abandoned castle/mansion already built? Especially, considering it appears to have cement walls, something that will last for a very very long time. I guess I don't get it, only built for a movie set? No one has actually ever lived inside it? Crazy. Great video Steve. Thank you for sharing.
Well, that intro is time I’ll never get back.
I know it's like 4 min. long
URL rap video intros are like 12 minutes.
The man is giving you free entertainment. Appreciate.
Great video Steve. Your the best i now of in RUclips photografy😊❤💛
Got to say Steve is the best explorer xx
I saw your Pov on tiktok and here I am watching the whole Vid.😊
My brother built and worked on multiple movie sets. That is not built like a movie set. I wonder if the studio found it and repaired/updated it.
Thank you so much beautiful mansion
Amazing architecture
I've watched the Chinese movie " dangerous liaison" made me cry. Well the mansion looks even better in real than in the movie. Very sad story
Seeing the beauty in things that normally others don’t!
I love ❤ the music you use in your videos.
S. Ronin you're 2nd Channel no good! God bless you and family
Thanks so much!
This place is amazing. Can anyone hear what movie this was made for? I’d love to see it in it’s prime.
Dangerous liaisons
this was the set used for "dangerous liaisons" at theaters in November 2012....
no google that movie wrong mansion
Great video thanks 💜
So cool.💜
Looking forward to seeing more of your exploring in China
Just beautiful
You find the best places. I have been watching you since the beginning and you only get better. Wow. Your top notch now. Well done.
Pretty amazing place for only a movie set! Very cool, thanks for the tour!
Ever hear of Tartaria and Phonecians? The "temple" that is not a temple may be a free energy structure. I don't believe that was built for a movie, the cost and labor for that type of structure wouldn't make any financial sense. I love your work! Thanks!
Watching your all videos during Quarantine 😃 2020
