    I love that the cyclone shroud is now self-cleaning, that’s loads better compared to the V6

    I purchased the original stand-up Dyson vacuum in 2000. It still works well but it's heavy and clumsy, not easy to maneuver in and around tight spaces. I purchased the V8 that came with 8 additional tools in the U.S. This video is quite helpful. Thanks.

    Here in Australia the fluffy roller head is a staggering $200, an absolute joke. Love and hate Dyson as a brand.

      What irritates me about Dyson is when most of the vacuums are able to cope with plush style carpets. You have a guy named dyson who makes a vacuum designed to clean rugs put can live up to the reputation. It’s definitely not worth the price if it cuts out like that.

    Here in the US, we get the "Motorhead" design on all of the powerheads. Instead of the mini motorized brush, we get the mini motorized brush but with the anti-tangle comb design.

      Some of the Dyson models in the UK do come with the anti tangle mini motorised tool, but I prefer the version that comes with this model as it seems to pick up better than the Hair Screw Tool.

    For a basic dyson this is a fantastic unit
    I have a V10 and been looking at getting a new V11 or even a V15 but the price has put me off - the V8 is too basic for me but great show Roger and well worth watching!

    My Dyson v6 power head has stopped working, I’ve tried to free the fibres not just from the roller but the gears too but to no avail. I have to say I purchased it as a second machine but it’s been very good as a primary vacuum. I have had two replacement batteries but in fairness both at no cost. The optional flexible hose, stiff and soft brushes are the BEST car cleaning accessories I’ve ever used. I don’t really begrudge it but I think I’m going to have to buy a replacement power head…

      @@Deb.-. AliExpress actually sells rebuild kits for Dyson battery packs. New cells, logic board, housings, etc.
      Dyson uses cheap batteries from the lowest bidder intentionally, and those cells cannot take the high load/drain/charge cycle that Dyson employs. The logic board for the charging circuit destroys itself. This is done intentionally to make Dyson richer.

    I thought a v8 wouldn’t be strong enough on the low setting to pick up anything from my wool carpets so I was looking at the v10. Looks like that would be worse!
    So to understand, the suction was too powerful it stuck to the carpet and wouldn’t move, but a corded upright vacuum would have more suction but WOULD be able to move and get the green sand out of the wool carpet? I’m a bit confused why. Is that because the upright would have some kind of brushroll with bristles that agitate the carpet more? Or because the wheels on the upright would be better? Considering you have the same carpet as me & I have two cocker spaniels (i adore Daisy she loves to be the star of the video 😂 not scared of vacuums at all!)
    I’m keen to see your favourite go-to lightweight vacuum that balances deep cleaning, detangling & convenience. (The Sharks are usually too heavy for me!)

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  9 месяцев назад

      The carpet in this video is man made. I had experience of a wool carpet years ago and I would never buy another due to the amount of times I tend to wash my carpets, even more so now my dogs are older and having more accidents. I think the problem with many cordless cleaners on plush and deeper pile carpets is the motors in the powerhead do not have the power to keep going when there is resistance and cut out.
      I can’t recommend a vacuum with your requirements as the ones I find best to use are not lightweight machines or have anti hair wrap brushrolls.

    Hello there, I've watched a lot of your videos. Can I ask you a question?
    Since I have Shark vacuums, my dust container is getting a real lot of white powder in it. I don't know what it is, I guess it's the backing from my white wool carpets ( the are bald on the stairs).... As soon as I clean the filters they are a third saturated with white powder.... Have you ever seen anything like this?

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  Год назад +1

      No I haven’t. Seems that the backing of your carpet is degrading and the Shark is sucking it up. Or a member of your household has started using talcum powder. The filters of all the Sharks I’ve used get dirty pretty quickly.

      Dyson state that this model has Fully-sealed filtration
      Traps 99.99% of microscopic particles as small as 0.3 microns. Of course when you empty it, dust inevitably goes into the air, so you will breath some of the microscopic dust in.

    Great video! How would you rank this against the Henry Quick? This seems more flexible with the additional mini motorised tool, and the main head seems great on hard floors, but for day to day use what is your preferred option?

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  Год назад +2

      This model is far more convenient for above floor jobs than the Henry Quick, especially if you add the optional hose. For day to day use in my home I use mains powered bagged cleaners.

      @@ibaisaic many thanks for the advice. I actually have a lightweight Tineco cordless, but the dust on emptying and filter cleaning became tiresome, so was intrigued with the dust free bagged aspect of the Henry Quick. Is the V8 better at picking up on floors?
