Hi there, the big disadvantage with FM transmitters is that if you're driving longer distances you end up having to retune the radio and the transmitter, otherwise it's a good handsfree solulution if you just drive around locally.
I actually purchased an FM transmitter that just has a 3.5mm input, because for me, wires are fine. (Plus I use an old iPod Nano) It was definitely better than nothing, and for staying in one location they're pretty nice. However, for long car trips covering a vast geographic area they're really not convenient since you have to constantly change stations on both the device and your radio. I've since gotten something that plugs into the CD changer port and I had to take the dash apart for my car to get to the back of the radio, but overall it's a lot nicer. Also, I know I had used a tape adapter in my old car until the tape deck broke, those are cheap and easy, however they again use wires. The car I drive now has no tape deck though. I also at one point had gotten for my father a Bluetooth receiver that connects to an auxiliary port to directly input to the head unit, and he used it all the time. Again, it had a wire for power though and a wire for auxiliary. However, this solution worked nicely for having Bluetooth without issues of changing frequencies while driving long distance. One of these Bluetooth receivers could also be paired with a tape adapter or something that plugs into a CD changer port if needed. So, those some alternatives that might be better depending on your needs or wants. As Databits mentioned, he didn't want to deal with wires, and if he doesn't anticipate using it for long distance, this is a great solution for that case. But everyone's needs and wants are different.

On some songs it acts weird where higher end sounds or when the lyrics have the " S " sound it distorts.i have to constantly adjust the adapter volume from song to song to get around this annoyance Is this a common problem and if so has this been corrected or upgraded?
Have you head any static interference ciming from the speakers. Like when you're driving around from one location to the next. Also does it audio become louder when you step on the gas?

My mom has an older (11 year old) BMW that DOES have Bluetooth, but does NOT play music over Bluetooth and also does NOT have any sort of aux input for the audio system (just A/M-F/M-CD)... she doesn't listen to music on her phone but maybe it'd still be useful somehow... I put an aftermarket Kenwood Bluetooth receiver in my older Jeep but before that I was using the cassette deck on the factory radio to play music off of my phone. My dad's newer Jeep has an integrated infotainment system, so he's the only one that really has an "Up-to-Date" infotainment system (at least I still have a Bluetooth Audio connection and HD Radio in my older Jeep though). This would come in handy for a lot of people I know who have older/non-Bluetooth Audio-capable vehicles (i.e. my dad's work truck, which just has a basic radio, and he wishes not to upgrade to even the most basic Bluetooth Audio-capable aftermarket radio). its depends the transmitter Bluetooth version.. if it below 3.0 Bluetooth is not doing any good job. so best to buy that support 4.0 Bluetooth. Another reason is can be your radio station channel receiving poor quality so try switch to a channel that's gives the best reception for your area.

I just bought the blackweb BWB17AV004 FM Transmitter for my 2003 PT Cruiser because I have no aux port and I absolutely love it. My car already had a pretty good sounding radio, but with this, it sounds so much more better! I had absolutely no problem pairing it with my Bluetooth. It's almost just like the one you have. Mine says it has caller id and song names, but I can't find ANY tutorial video or website to show me how to program those parts in. Can you please help me??? You could of literally got a Bluetooth receiver to aux then you would not need to do the radio steps. A aux Bluetooth module is much smaller and will have better quality audio as it won’t need tho use the radio.

A few days ago I've bought it. It does have a very little static in very low volume that wont bother you. I had before another cheap one but this one is the best in market.
Fm transmitters have always had static. I had one 20 years ago that was really bad. Probably these are better but then again I did get static with my aux the other days in low volume.

i have the music on a Thumb drive, the stations on the FM are the same and i can tell they are syn but no music. I pushed M till it was on USB

i've read that when you turn the car off the device doesn't and it will kill the battery, is that true with this car and if not what car is it
The device will turn off if the power socket turns off. Not all cars do this.

Those magnetic mounts are fantastic if you have a phone without wireless charging. Shame I have to settle with windshield mounted ones.

Tune your car FM radio and the unit both to the same station.
Yes, I did that, and that stopped even the car radio from playing that station. What to do after that?
