- This is qualifying day from our race with VORRA, in Lovelock Nevada, the EL COYOTE 400. Zach Johnson is driving in his first desert race in our Class 1 desert car. In this video we qualify, take the race car on a pre race inspection lap, get the car inspected at tech and attend the drivers meeting. Zach was co-driver in the the qualifying lap and then takes the car around the course as the driver during the pre-run.

It was definitely a learning experience! What I didn't realize on day 1 was how much things change once the actual green flag drops. Going from 70% just to 80-85 makes a HUGE difference!! Thank you to all of you guys involved with the #111 for the opportunity!!

I will say Brian, the car sounds ALOT meaner in real life standing next to it. I told Kelly when I popped by last week and he started the 111 car so I could hear it! MAN O MAN! The "internet" removes that deep throaty chest rumbling thump of that 500HP motor! Sounds hair in the arm raising AWESOME!
It is crazy how different it sounds and feels in person.
Found your channel 'cause of Zach.. I've been all over that Lovelock race area, too. Nice country.

Thanks for heading here to take a look. Yes, it is expensive. Lucky my racing partner and I split everything and we do as much of the race prep/work on the car ourselves as possible to save money.
@@DesertTheory that's the best way to do it. For now I just do demolition derbys and pure stock dirt track racing. Gut an old car and race.

I worked for one of the radio shops that was doing offroad racing stuff back in the late 80s early 90s I was with them... was a blast! got to enjoy some pretty nice vehiklz! don't kno if they still are around or not
