they couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery. they couldn't organise themselves in wartime, ww1 or ww2. the only thing the french can do successfully is surrender, grow garlic and make wine.
These men bear the insignias of the 1Bn, 10th commando Brigade (Free French), also known as the "Commando Kieffer". They were the first soldiers to touch Sword beach on D-day (their british commando colleagues let them go first as a class act) , and liberated the town of Ouistreham under heavy german fire. And as to the tone of your comment regarding the French, i'd like to invite you to read a bit on the French armies during WW2, you might read some interessting facts: More french died than Americans, the French were the only army to fight on all theatres of the war (and, indeed, on both sides), by 1944, the Free french armies were the second largest allied army on the western Front, with 1.6 million men under arms.
@@thibaudduhamel2581 unfortunately history doesn't paint a good picture for France. surrendered in ww1 and 2. Sure, they put up a good fight in both, but the fact remains, the white flag flies. those that could, fled to England, drew breath and re-grouped. thanks to us here in the uk. we re-trained, re-equipped them. clothed and fed them. meanwhile back in France an underground movement was gathering pace and strength. constantly being ground down due to informers and double agents. many SAS men being put to death as a result. yes my friend, i'm well read on french participation in war. i hope there is never a third world war. because i wouldn't trust any of you fuckers in that one either.
@@davidmarshall1259 Are you deluded or just plain stupid? The french didn't surrender in WW1, they did the most work. As to the second world war, Britain might have clothed and fed the free French, but did so only after "securing" the gold reserves of the Bank of France. French soldiers fought on every front of the second world war (on every side also, for that matter, often against eachother), and everywhere they went they were noticed. The Normandie Aviation regiment is the highest scoring allied squadron on the Eastern Front (and the only allied troop to aid the Russians), the Free French brigade's heroic defense of Bir-Hakeim against Rommel's Panzerdivisions was noted by Hitler himself (he said: "[Bir Hakeim] is a further proof of the thesis which I have always maintained, namely that the French are, after us, the best soldiers in Europe. c'est juste magnifique de voir ces commandos!
