The way the city has demonized this women is disgusting. Who in their right mind believes this women woke up and decided she would murder people? She’s just as much of a victim as all the other passengers. Maybe the city will invest in snow tires for buses and proactively eliminate blind spots.

A double deck, high centered vehicle like that in 'any' adverse driving condition is a accident waiting to happen. She really didn't stand a chance of controlling that rig under those conditions. I fault the city for even using double decker buses...its just a greedy, unnecessary and dangerous way of making the city transit more money.

Wow...not guilty.....going 70 on a 50 zone.....express buses don't even drop off on Westboro......if you're looking straight, there's absolutely no way you would go near that awning despite the sun/road line.....lost for words....the incompetence is unreal

How do you know how fast the bus was going. Where is the radar slip or photo?

sndm, why don't you become a judge so you can right these glaring injustices?

@@av8tor261 it was in the ottawa citizen.
(Though her speed "was a little excessive" as she travelled roughly 70 kilometres per hour, when the posted speed limit on the Ottawa Transitway is 50 kilometres per hour, the judge said it was comparable to that of a colleague driving behind her.)

@@sndm OK. So where did the Ottawa Citizen come up with the numbers. Was it 69 KPH or 71 KPH. Does it matter? Also remember the weather was bad that day so regardless of the posted speed limit "everyone" should have been driving according to weather and road conditions. I'm not trying to defend the driver. She was one link in the chain events that contributed to this horrible accident . My sympathy to the families and victims.

The city will blame the driver to remove the city from liability. The immediate arrest was proactive ass covering by the city and technically she must have been tested and qualified "by the city" before she was "certified/licensed" to operate that bus. No not matter what. The city is responsible in all aspects. Take it from this aircraft accident investigator that there are so many factors involved her. Many thing happened at the same time.

You know what happened "at the same time"? A minority was given a license to drive an huge vehicle with responsibility for peoples lives because she had a fucking suntan. Equality in hiring and so forth. The conditions there never occurred EVER before that day? ....................please. She should be a janitor.

@@tracerxy I was on the bus she drove and let me tell you it's the most heart racing drive we've had. In 14 mins. we almost got in an accident, she's a dangerous driver, 2 guys asked her to slow down but she didn't, she was insulted so they said they were going to report her. I never go on her bus when I see her, nope no way.
