Some tips I compiled from playing so far: POSITION CHANGES ATH Possession -> TE/DT/FB ATH Physical w/ 80+ Spec Catch -> FS/SS/CB (they will guaranteed have Platinum Lay Out) ATH Power Back -> OLB/MLB ATH Scrambler/Power Rusher w/ 92+ ACC -> DE (they will guaranteed have Platinum Quick Jump) DEPTH CONVERSIONS: Depth WRs that are fast and tall but probably won’t start -> TE Depth WRs that are fast but not tall and probably won’t start -> RB Depth Power Back RBs or Depth Blocking TEs -> FB Depth Hybrid S with >90 Speed -> CB Depth Hybrid/Run Support S w/ OLB/MLB Run Stopper DE -> DT I personally would like Jaden to cover what Defensive Schemes perform the best in Sim cause I like 4-3 cause I like to recruit the guaranteed Platinum Quick Jump ATHs for LE/RE but I wonder how the other schemes perform when recruited optimally
Also I think you have to change the XP sliders to get the proper development for some players like I usually make CBs get 150-200% XP and FS/SS get the highest because they develop the slowest in the game. TE also goes up to like 120-150 because they also develop too slowly. You can also decrease XP for O-Line since they develop too fast even trash archetypes like Pass Protector C/G
@@LeoAscendantMan if you really want to cheese with scheme, just only recruit 3-4 man to man corners every year and change one or 2 to saftey. Then only recruit power rusher D tackles, speed rusher DE, and one run stopper MLB. Then change one of your DE to ROLB and run Mid blitz every single play on defense. You’ll have 5 dominant pass rushers every play and 5 man to man corners locking the field down while you’re usering the run stopper mlb covering the middle of the field. It’s cheesy as hell but it feels dumb to not do it 😂

Safeties are just a tough position on this game as far as development. You have to do more than just let them sit back and play overtop. Gotta send em on blitzes, user them and get some picks across the middle and put them at sublb if you can.
Use young safeties as subLB. You also have to tweak XP sliders for a lot of positions. You need elite dev & star dev players. Architect is clutch. Most players have caps.

@@BigfoxN-A-chiccenhouse the way that I've seen vast improvements in the o line is running the ball first and foremost. To me their archetypes don't matter as much, strength does. All linemen that start off with a high strength (84+) always graduate with 90+ strength. Players develop better when the senior ahead of them gets drafted. Your 83 junior will more than likely be a 90-91 senior if the linemen ahead of him gets drafted. Coaching tree matters as well. You have to have the OL boosts in motivator and tactician.
A little cheat to keep guys eligible that are going to declare for draft is edit awareness to 1 before players leaving screen and then return to whatever awareness they were before after draft and transfers declare
@@CallMeJaden Do the price of skill ratings increase as the player upgrades their skills? It seems that the more bars the player has filled up, the higher the cost to keep filling. My Cb with only 1 bar left for quickness price = 13 coins. With 2 bars left to fill its 12 coins and , 4 bars left it's 10 coins to upgrade
I stopped recruiting hybrid safeties a few months ago after I realized this. Good to see more attention being paid to the problem. EA really needs to rebalance development costs for some positions/archetypes. I saw another video today claiming EA *has* done that recently with some positions, so hopefully hybrid safeties get some love, too. I try to find a home for all different archetypes in my dynasties, but hybrid safeties are a line I just don’t cross anymore unless I plan to move them to corner or linebacker. The funny thing is they often end up as slot corners, who have the *cheapest* upgrades for corner. So if you want a good hybrid safety, the best option is probably stick him at cornerback for a few off-seasons first.
Just move them to LB year one unless you need them right away then when you move em back they get crazy abilities and archetype may change. I usually get at minimum 4 abilities 2 play at min.
How are you doing this in a fair way if they all don’t get the same playing time and collect the same amount of XP? You can’t discredit playing time of they’re going to be on the same team
I prioritize ability's first,So with Safeties.Zone >hybrid>run support.I don't think there's ant mentals worth prioritizing.Like best friend for WR or TEs or obviously Field General and head strong for Qbs.Other than that it's all about physicals skill caps then dev traits.so DE Speed Rushers MLB feild General ex.
EA doesn’t do a good job of explaining the backend stuff, but doing what they’re supposed to do gets them XP. Stats for their positions essentially, but the game auto spends them, so you rarely see that you achieved them
Unless they are Vertical Threats, because VTs do not improve Run/Pass Blocking Footwork/Power, which heavily influences each archetypes overall rating.
@frogalex8915 Yes; you can go and see this for yourself. Fire up a dynasty, pick any random TE with a Blocking archetype, and look at the ratings that improve in their Blocking skill group. Then, do the same for a random Possession TE. Finally, look for any Vertical Threat, and you will immediately notice a derth of ratings missing to improve in the Blocking ratings group.
@CAPAE well shit that sucks i just brought in 3 vertical threat TEs in my online dynasty cause i was annoyed with the other types leveling hella slow and having horrible caps. So i guess the question is is that a intentional or a bug? also i feel like ive learned more from you about this game than most of the channels i watch
@frogalex8915 Well, thank you for the compliment 🙂 I am pretty sure that is intentional. I am unsure if they knew how much that would skew the ratings, though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ My advice is go after Blocking TEs, high rated Possession TEs, or just move some OL over to TE to get draft boosts.
Great Video bro!! Quick Question If I Have an Elite Development TE Is it more beneficial to start him and up his receptions? Or do I start my high OVR TE while my Elite Freshman Develops on the bench??
If possible you should always redshirt as there is no real downside to having them have one extra year of development you should pretty much only start true freshman if you have literally no one better to start
The game automatically converts him into a vertical TE. That’s what I normally do, I use them strictly for the passing game, make sure he’s atleast 6”4 - 6”6 though
Do QBs. I’ve noticed once I get into dynasty 90% of starting QBs end up being scramblers with annoying extender and magician perks and I wonder if that’s a recruit generation thing or a development thing. Thanks!
@ sorry I don’t think I worded my comment correctly. Even pro style or air raid offenses will all have scramblers which makes me think that scramblers just progress overalls better because the cpu isn’t going to change starters to cheese fast qb rollouts
@matteganhouse3989 They actually progress overall ratings worse. Sim 5+ years and you will almost never find a Scrambler with base overall before Tactician boosts in the top 10 ratings in the country. This is because they are slow to develop their accuracy ratings which are most important for overall.

Hybrids should be moved to corner because 1) Hybrid safeties have super expensive skill upgrades and 2)They can/will still play safety in the depth chart.
Hybrid safeties imo if they not able to contribute day 1 i usually changed them to corners especially if I need the depth because they hit or miss in the development category

@@LeoAscendant To solve that problem, I just started recruiting ATH OL because they're faster, move them to TE (the game makes them blocking TE), and sub them in for run plays or pass plays if I need and extra blocker.
I appreciate the effort and thought that goes into your videos, and i think you are asking good questions, but your methodology is flawed in many of your expiramemts. You can not ignore playing time or the randomness of off-season training in a video about development.

Possession ATH is the best TE build. They have the best skill caps. I had 2 of them get drafted within the first 3 rounds after applying this method.
What star were they I’m recruiting two ath 3 star possession te hopefully they will have good skill caps

So I don't really waste time on TE unless he's 5 star and elite. I usually move a big physical WR that's fast . Usually works out great

2:35 skill caps and dev traits are directly correlated btw, so yes they do matter, as they are usually proportional

Yup, if you recruit Hybrid Safeties (I still recommend it for Dev Traits), move them to other positions.

I just take 6’5+ receivers and change them to TE after they sign. 90+ overall tight ends by year 3

Good TEs are mostly 3 stars blockers and possession guys.
I just had a dynasty where in one season I got 2 3* gem possision TE that were star dev. Day one they were maxed out skill caps 81 overall.....

Dumb question but how do you acquire coins to upgrade the players? I knew about the coaches coins but not these.

when blocking goes up one all those stats go up so it a massive boost each time

When you do LBs an D-line do 4-3 and 3-4
Physical wr>1 year of training at LT>TE. Dudes show up as rs freshmen 90 overalls or higher.

i don’t think stats affect development. I had a true freshman wr 78 ovr who went to 89 in one szn with no stats

in my experience run support and zone have been by far the highest rated safteys ive had in all my time in dynasty

With TE I recruit at ATH with 90 spd or better move them or a physical WR with 87 spd or better n make them convert to te
CBS I just move the zone to fs or ss
