I like to think of this as specifically how Tails remembers this going down. Given that each version of each cutscene has slightly different dialogue. Tails is scared because Eggman is a lot more threatening to him without Sonic by his side.

Yeah, one of the main reasons why I like the overall presentation of Sonic Adventure is that every story is taken from the respective character's perspective (and memory), to the point where entire lines of dialogue are different. It makes it feel like one big movie where everyone's just remembering what happened after the fact, which makes the story telling that bit more interesting as a result.
this imo is something that's often overlooked about SA's storytelling, even when Tails is with Sonic Eggman still has different, more menacing sounding dialogue
its extremely subtle and one of the best things about SA to me

Okay, the Chaos Emeralds have used up all their negative energy near the climax for the Perfect Chaos fight. However, in one of the game's first cutscenes, Tails mentioned that they have _unlimited_ power. SEGA is just making this shit up as they go along.

What Tails means is that Chaos used all of the unlimited negative energy.
Unlimited means no ending, so that means there is still WHOLE lot more energy.

also,i like how they just say "the true power" when they talk ablut the positive energy. that is not how it works. half the energy being gone still means half the energy is gone. i even think they said "positive" instead of true in japanese,which would make that a really weird translationerror

LPFan chaos is not technically invincible since super sonic was able to beat him. Also I don’t think “true power” is a translation error it was likely on purpose just because the Americans (or whoever) thought calling it true power would be more fitting.
