Tyreek gave all the documents the cop needed, after that there is nothing more for to talk about, but the EGO of the cop wouldn't let it go at that, he had to show he was going to teach him a lesson.

I’m not defending their actions, it was WAAAAY over the line, but Tyreek was instigating on his end too. Can’t put it all on them, but I will blame them for the excessiveness of force! Just open the window and answer their questions. Don’t act like you’re going to drive off!

Police are trained to deal with people in stressed out situations, some of their own making, sometimes caused by others. They are trained to deescalate.
If someone who is otherwise acting nonthreatening they can't attack that person simply because they are slow to follow their commands!
As an atty of over 40 years who had dealt with countless prosecutors and police officers, departments generally know who are the hot heads. The departments that cover it up, deserves to be held accountable.

One thing you learn to do as a cop is establish dominance. You do that for everybody's benefit, not just yours. It's not about ego or hurt feelings. It's about establishing that during your encounter with the police, the police are running the show. Once the encounter is over you can go on your merry way and run your own show. What Tyreek did was defiant, which is a red flag for cops. That's why they told him to get out of the vehicle, so they won't have to worry about any unpleasant surprises. Once they got him out and subdued, they were able to determine what they were dealing with, write him up, and send him on his way. That could have all been avoided if Tyreek had just been respectful and compliant. Hopefully he learns from this.
@JewandGreek A traffic stop may involve a citizen who is unhappy. As long as the citizen simply expresses his disatisfaction in a nonviolent manner, there is no reason for an officer to demand obedience with the alternative being a physical attack. While in law school, I worked as a loss prevention officer at a major department store. I detained dozens. Most were not happy. I could have been in dozens of fights. I avoided those fights by acting polite and professional while being assertive.
Comparing loss prevention to a cop on the street is not comparable. I used to pump gas, we had difficult customers too……no comparison!

that pretty much sums it up, two egomaniacs met at that traffic stop. But Tyreek Hill was speeding in a construction zone and did escalate the situation before the officer did anything wrong.
Tyreek should be fired also. He started this whole situation with his abusive behavior.

When you’re in traffic, nobody cares who you are or how much money you make. If you’re speeding, being a nuisance, driving dangerously, and disobeying lawful commands, you will rightfully be dealt with more harshly. It’s very simple to just not be an asshole on the road and to the police that pulled you over.

Tyreek needs to be suspended, you represent the NFL and you brought all this on yourself. Cops are tired of getting disrespected. If he would have act like a grown man and not act like a punk. Leave your window down give them what they ask for then get your ticket and go on your way, but you didn’t want that. So you got what you wanted and that was the smoke.
Hill is full of it maybe you should’ve pulled the window down and not disrespect the officers that’s what escalated it. I don’t hear that being mentioned.

Tyreek- you need to own your behavior and be a good role model for young people. You did not handle yourself well, as you say. The laws are not special for famous people. You were going approx.110 mph in a 55mph zone!! You could've caused a fatality -- yourself or scaring another driver enough for them to lose control of their vehicle! And you are worried about your family? I'm surprised your license wasn't suspended. You needed to cooperate right off. You were talking back disrespectfully. You have other previous legal history too. Cops put their lives on the line every day and they can't take chances, with tinted black windows, their lives could've been wiped out because they couldn't see inside! Use this as a learning opportunity for all, as you seem to want to do, and yeah, they were a little tough, but probably unnerved wondering what you might do next through that window. Do not try and have the guy fired or sue or whatever- you made mistakes too, going 110 in the first place. It escalated from there. Obey laws, and make us proud of our NFL Team!

The onus is not on Tyreek Hill for law enforcement to maintain professionalism during a traffic stop for driving over the speed limit. His attitude, lack of respect towards "their" aggressive authority or aggravation toward the knocking on his window does not give them the right to forcefully remove him from his car, force him to the hot pavement, put a knee in his back and place him in handcuffs. It is so disgusting with a tinge of racism for people to imply that things would have been different had he "known his place".
I agree. When I get pulled over I don’t keep my window down and I don’t always listen to the police officer. Tyreek Hill simply did what we all do when we get pulled over.

I got dark limousine tent on my Cadillac Escalade I’ve had numerous of tickets never had I ever been asked to keep my window down. They normal ask for registration and move forward with the ticket. They don’t bang on the window no need for that. So this is definitely a two way situation that I see on both sides.🤷🏽♀️

Do we even need traffic stops anymore? Just run the plate and send it in the mail. Confirm with a phone call and pay the fine in an allotted time.
