I’d love to see a video about some cleansers and moisturizers that work best for each skin type and maybe some recommendations of what worked for your skin
Man I remember having to really convince my mother to wear sunscreen just cause she thought that black people getting skin cancer or ageing prematurely was a myth, thankfully she uses it now
Great video, like watching Beauty Within. You are the first RUclipsr who I have watched that don't over exfoliate their skin while using The Ordinary products. Most of them use the peeling solution and then go in with the glycolic toner right after and some even use a mechanical exfoliator such as a spin brush when cleansing their face. Thank you for including the importance of using sunscreen.
Thank you! I’m very careful with my AHA/BHAs. I only use one a night in my routine - if you want to switch it up, use on different nights of the week. And yes! Sunscreen is everything especially when you’re using a lot of active ingredients - have to protect your skin!
Thank you for showing us how to actually apply the products and in what order! After watching through so many long videos, this was the first one that was actually really helpful. Thank you!
YESSS THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!!!!!! My skin is the same as yours and I've always been struggling with finding a right skincare routine. I then found out about The Ordinary but I was a little sceptical cuz I didn't want to ruin my face (trigger my acne) by putting untrustworthy products on it. This routine and the explanations of the products you use were so helpful! Thank you again sweetheart!!! ♡
OMG! Thank you for this. I literally just added everything on the cart and paid after watching this video. I've been struggling with my acne and oily face for YEARS. And now is the time to do something about it. :)
Don’t judge me but You have THE prettiest hands & fingernails omg also I just purchased a bunch of ordinary products I hope I see results! Thanks for sharing ur steps & what u use :)
@@prettydiamonds947 heyy ! I like the product I got the red mask everyone was raving about and I actually really like it ! I do feel like it removes the junk under my skin and In my pores ... the cleanser is great ! It does remove makeup and it doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight or dry when I rinse it off.. the serum I got I feel like doesn’t do much tbh although with all the other steps (moisturizer and oil) it does leave my skin super dewy but it hasn’t removed any textured skin that I have and it also doesn’t prevent blemishes because I would still get some ! Hope this helps :)
The Ordinary need to sponsor you !!! Thank you so much for this very informative videos. Just ordered everything you mentioned/use. Hope it helps me ! 😘
Not that I could remember! I remember anticipating that but I probably had a few breakouts at most around my mouth/cheek area from starting a completely new routine but nothing super crazy I was actually pleasantly surprised and thankful!
I’m starting on a new skincare journey because nothing I am using works. I am going to try using The Ordinary now, and I’m hoping it will work. It works well for so many people!
Download the skin care app. You can put in what products you have and they tell you exactly what Order to use them for am and pm. Also what products not to mix
this video was way more informative than the last 10 videos I have watched. I personally have really dry skin, so where exactly would the plant derived squalane fit into this routine?
That makes me so happy you found it helpful!!♥️ You can apply the plant derived squalane to cleansed skin after toners, serums, and other water-based treatments. Since you have dry skin, you should also pair it with another moisturizer for added hydration!
This is perfecttt thank you! This is the only video that I seen someone explain how to layer their skincare products and what products NOT to mix together ✨
So helpful! I’m going to buy a lot of the products you mentioned. Can’t wait to try. Thanks for the clear explanation of the order and the way to apply💕
I loved your skincare routine! I would only recommend to switch the micelles water and introduce a cleansing oil as this will remove absolutely all your makeup (eyes included) and then you go with the cleanser. I recommend you the camomile one from TheBodyShop it’s amazing and super gentle for your skin! Way better than nivelar water and way less harsh on the skin (and you don’t have to use cotton pads which is awesome for the environment !!)
I absolutely love this video! It’s been really hard for me to find info from someone with similar issues as me so to find someone with the exact same difficulties is crazy! Please know you are so appreciated for this video. I may sound a little dramatic but my skin has been acting up and I really needed to see this. Again, thank you💞
@@IAmHisBeloved5 they’ve been working wonders for me... I couple a few of the ordinary products with Yeouth Skincare products. My skin is virtually flawless. Dark spots faded. I don’t really get any new blemishes, unless it’s that time of the month. I have my routine posted to my channel as well.

Hi! Love the video and the explanations! By far one of the best videos on it I've seen! Quick question, when would I incorporate my lactic acid, caffiene solution and salycilic mask
Hildana Liben they are really good products but haven’t necessarily made a huge difference to my skin besides from the niacinamide. i’d say the thing that worked best for me is the CeraVe facial cleanser and benozyl peroxide which is a spot treatment gel!
I have similar issues. However I’m starting to feel the need to add an anti aging product as well. What would you add and how would you set up the morning and night regimen? I’m so overwhelmed lol but I keep coming back to your video 😌
I’d try incorporating a retinol - it has amazing anti-aging benefits!!✨ I’d only use it at night after water-based serums but before moisturizers - make sure you also remove glycolic from the routine. So in my night routine, I’d remove the glycolic acid and replace it with a gentler (non-AHA toner), apply hyaluronic acid then the retinol (and finish out with any moisturizers). Try it out once a week and if your skin doesn’t get irritated, you can increase the amount of times you use it. I recently bought this one from the ordinary bc I heard how great retinol is for your skin: rstyle.me/cz-n/d72h4zct5n7 Let me know if this all makes sense!😘
Can't believe this video is 4 years ago and I just discovered The ordinary products😂...anywayz this is a BRILLIANT video and I'm so happy I have most of the products, I am just awaiting my rosehip oil and moisturising cream in the post. I have 1 question....I live in a hot country, and I try to avoid the sun as much as poss but sometimes the sun catches you. I use a good sunscreen lotion too. So my question is it ok to use the niacimide in the morning or shd I use it at night. Given that I might be in the sun sometimes
I would recommend first doing a double cleanse, using a balm to take your makeup off instead of miscellar water then going in with a gel Or water based cleanser since you say you have oily skin. Squalane is great but it’s heavier and probably more suitable for drier skin types but other than that I loved your routine and products!!
Thank you! Yeah I’ve overtime realized my skin needs more than just the squalane so I’ve switched up my routine since this.. maybe I’ll share my updated routine🧖🏾♀️👀
You don’t have to use them together but I do bc I want the hydration from hyaluronic and oil control from niacinamide. Just pick what you want to target most and use that product
Have you used the peel? I’m trying to figure out how to incorporate it into my routine. For example, when I use this should I not use a mask that day? Thank you
When you use the AHA/BHA peel you shouldn’t use any other aha/bha products like glycolic, lactic or salicylic bc too many exfoliating products will irritate your skin. So you should always alternate nights, use the peel one night a week and you can use the glycolic or lactic acid the remaining nights
Hello! I just wanted to say thank you for the day and night time routines, I appreciate being able to find someone that has the same skin type and goes into so much depth with the products used. I had a quick question though, I wanted to include the Matrixyl 10% + HA into the night time routine and with research, I think it should be safe. I just wanted a second opinion since I'm new to skincare as a whole. Thank you again!!
Because it’s a peptide ingredient, I wouldn’t use it with direct acids like L-ascorbic acid or AHA/BHAs. Just to be safe, if you’re going to use it at night, just remove glycolic from your routine and you can alternate using those two products every other night.
I saw a video saying that you shouldn’t use your actives during the day like any of the acids so what do you think about that.... also I’ve seen that when using the glycolic acid toner you shouldn’t use any other acid or niacinamide but you do so have you seen any reactions ?
I don’t use niacinamide and glycolic at the same time. I stopped using glycolic altogether but when I did, I used it at night and niacinamide in the morning
Hiii, love this video. Found this so helpful and ordering it all tonight ahah. Also just wanted to know if Vitamin C and Retinol would be good to add into the routine? Heard that is good for your skin as well but don’t know if it would work well with your routine.
No, I don’t store them in a fridge. I just keep them in my bathroom drawer. Lactic acid is if you want a chemical exfoliant. If you don’t then you don’t need it!
I’d use it night, wash my face and let it dry, apply the mask then skip the toner and complete the rest of my routine. I’m going to be filming a how-to video this weekend so be on the lookout for that!
Thank you thank you sooo much. I've watched so.many video on these products and this is the 1st video that I actually understand. I've purchased all of the products instead of a moisturizer. What would you recommend? I also have oily skin in the t zone area and hyperpigmention on my cheeks.

Absolutely loved your video! 💗 I bought the Hyaluronic acid, Niacinamide serum and Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA but the products start to pill after using the moisturizer. What should I do?
It could be due to a few reasons (these are just a few): 1. You could be applying in the wrong order - I'd recommend using, hyaluronic first, then niacinamide, then the moisturizer (and of course sunscreen after). 2. You could be applying too much product - try applying a little less product 3. You could be rushing through the steps - try taking your time, and leaving ~10 seconds in between each product 4. You could be rubbing in the products - pat and press, don’t rub 5. You may need to exfoliate - try adding an exfoliating acid to your routine to get rid of layers of dead skin Let me know if these help!!

Hi Tanicha. Thank you for the insightful video. When do you use the Magnesium Ascorbyl 10% serum? I saw on the Ordinary website that Vitamin C and niacinamide should not be used together. Thank you.

So glad it helped you!!🥰
Thank you for sharing this Great info. Very detailed and I just jumped on the ordinary line excited 😊
You’re gonna love it!! What products did you pick up??
The Peeling solution, Hyaluronic acid, Niacinamide, Toning solution. I definitely want to try the squalane cleanser. Looking for a good SPF.
Good job! Is it possible to pair the hyaluronic acid and the 1% retinol at night?
Yes! Hyaluronic pairs well with everything!
Hi. How long do you wait between the applications? I got the niacinamide, alpha Arbutin and Hyaluronic acid.
Usually about 30 seconds, maybe less if I’m rushing I’ll fan my face to help the product dry/sink in faster.
When did you use the Magnesium phosphate product? I recall you listing it in the first video when you introduced all of the products.
In the morning after Hyaluronic acid (and niacinamide) but before moisturizer and sunscreen!
Hi Tanicha. Thank you for the insightful video. When do you use the Magnesium Ascorbyl 10% serum? I saw on the Ordinary website that Vitamin C and niacinamide should not be used together. Thank you.
Hey I’m new to your video !!!!! Thank you for breaking down everything but I did have a question what product do you use to wash your face ? , I dnt wear make up like often so I would skip that step
Do you have a results video like how does your skin look now?
Yup! Here’s my 3 month update but I have an entire skincare playlist on my channel!

How about mixing organic cold pressed rosehip seed oil with niacinamide 10 + zinc at night ? Iet me know please ❣️
I personally don’t use niacinamide at night so I don’t run into this issue☹️
This just helped me soo much 🥰 new sub!
I’m glad!! Welcome love🥰♥️
Hi is niacinamide, alpha arbutin and Hyaluronic ok to use all in the same routine?
Absolutely! All those products will do a great job at brightening the skin and preventing blemishes. Just don’t forget your sunscreen!!!😘
I use these and was advised to use them only at night as I have dark skin. Don't forget sunscreen in the morning x
