  • Sakai’s Guardman SW884 highway-class roller made its American debut at World of Asphalt 2024.
The flagship roller is Sakai’s first model built in the U.S. to feature Guardman technology, an emergency front and rear detection/auto braking system. The Guardman technology uses millimeter radar and 3D Lidar systems to alert the operator of any obstacle and stop the machine as needed.
The SW884 is a 79-inch tandem roller that offers both oscillation and vibration in each drum. A turn of a knob provides either oscillation or vibration depending on the application. The 28,415-pound machine is powered by a 130-horsepower Cummins engine.
In the video above, Brad Belvin, Sakai America Inc. sales and marketing manager, explains highlights of the SW884ND and the Guardman technology.
