Yes, there's a backup file here Documents\Electronic Arts\CC Magic so outside your sims 3 doc folder and also here Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Cache
Have you had an issue where it doesn’t open? It wouldn’t open for me, I deleted cc Magic after backing up my CC, then re-installed everything after reinstalling the app. I used it once and it refuses to open again. Any tips?
Yes I've heard of this. It might be a number of different things. Windows defender could be blocking something. Try disabling it when downloading and installing. Also corrupt cc can cause this. Make sure you have the proper framework and visual c++ . Also check for any malware or viruses. Check to to see that ccmagic might have placed files in electronic arts folder rather than in ccmagic folder itself where they should be. Restart yr pc. Another thing you can try is moving the config file so documents>electronic arts>ccmagic folder to yr desktop and see if it opens then. Otherwise I'm really not sure. The program is so old and no updates for it for years. It is kind of clunky. I might even switch to sims 3 mod manager myself soon
@@jaebae4484 If you tried what I suggested above and it's still not opening, have you checked task manager to make sure it's fully shut down? This program is pretty old and has had no updates for years. I don't use it anymore myself. I've switched to mod manager and will be working on a guide for it as soon as I'm healed up from surgery
It’s the lazy duchess launcher. If you’ve never used mods before and want to start you’ll need the mods framework first. And you can get the launcher here > modthesims.info/d/662581/ld-s-sims3launcher-ea-app-origin-1-69.html
@@KozyKubGam3r Thank you so much! That will help me so much, I'm an og mod user, just finally setting down to go through my 32 gigs, my game is very upset at me! Would this work for me because I'm am on update 67, I was on 69 but I lost access to it when ea locked me out of my account due to two step verification. (long story) I liked the 69 launcher, but am going through steam right now. Is there a way to update the launcher or would that be unnecessary?
@@Aurelia_Nyx Unfortunately they haven't updated the launcher for version 67 yet. However Lazy duchess smooth patch will work for steam version. Sorry you lost access to your .69 version. It's been years since I played on 67 and for the most part I cant remember a lot. Lazy duchess launcher is a nice alternative but not necessary. With all the mods and cc you have, the best thing I can suggest is make sure to clarify what's compatible with 67 and to organize it all as best as possible. Also backup everything that's important of course. I do prefer .69 version because most good mods are made for this version now and this version will save you some trouble in the long run imo. But I hope you can get it all sorted and get back to it without too much trouble. I have a lot of guides that can help with getting the game running fairly stable and always feel free to reach out if you get stuck or need help. You can add me on discord if you want:) kozykub
If you have disks you can register them on the EA app and then re download them. Or/and you would have to purchase what you don't have on disk through the EA app. What ever you have already, if you do, downloaded from Steam can't be updated unfortunately. If you do decide to switch over to EA for the 69 version, make sure uninstall everything first completely. I always recommend Revo Uninstaller pro. It will un install stuff you don't need that windows un installer leaves behind and can cause issues with the sims 3 fresh install
It works for 1.69 except it's a bit clunky and old no matter what game version No updates for years. But it's still good in many ways. I'm currently moving all my cc to mod organizer. It's a newer program where you can even merge your mods
Sorry yr having trouble. Have you checked the default tab? What kind of files are they, package or sims3packs? If they might be corrupt check documents > electronic arts > ccmagic > corrupt Also if they’re sims3packs documents > electronic arts> ccmagic> sims3packs If they’re not in those folders, you should be able to find them in the packages folder. If you find them in there you could try again. Try only a few at a time. Ccmagic can be unstable. If no luck I suggest trying the sims 3 mod organizer. I just did a series on how to use it and it’s much more stable than ccmagic.
I downloaded it to try it out but it didnt work since my game is in spanish qnd apparently its not compatible. I deleted CC magic and now my mods wont show up in my game at all no matter what i do
Sorry I had no idea it’s not compatible with Spanish game. Are your mods not showing in any folders either? Cc magic does keep a backup of them. If you have a lot of cc and really need to compress them there is an alternative called s3pe. Let me know if you need any help if you decide to try it. Also check yr electronic arts>ccmagic> content> packages folder and see if yr content is there.
@@KozyKubGam3r I managed to solve it idk how, i remade the mod folders a hundred times and deleted all traces of cc magic 😅 luckily i didn't lose anything because I didn't had any cc beforehand
Muchísimas gracias por el tutorial, no tenía idea de como usar CC Magic.
¡De nada! Me alegra que te haya sido útil :)
Thank you! I needed to figure out how to unmerge my files ❤
is it possible sort the sets in alphabetical order? ?
Good question. You can do this by how you name your catagories as well as the ability to drag sets you can organize however works best for you.
if i uninstall the game and stall again, everything is gonna be there still?
