No, they are not cheap, cause the sims 3 is a 2009 game that was only able to run on old graphics cards. Then until 2013, they stopped adding updates to newer graphics cards.

It’s saying I don’t have permission to save in this location 😭 edit: I fixed it! If anyone else has this problem here’s the fix. “Modify Folder Permissions
In the Properties window, switch to the Security tab. Select your username from the list and click on Edit to modify folder permissions. Tick the Allow checkbox next to Full control. Hit Apply followed by OK.”
I had this problem so I figured it out so when you go to into device config right click on the folder and then click on properties when you are in properties click on security and then you should see a box that says edit. Click on it and allow all those options below that says full control, modify and then click on apply and then OK, I think it should work.
Last time I tried doing this following another tutorial, I broke my game. I'm so glad I found your video, now my game runs smoothly and looks super good!

I was having so much trouble with the graphicsrules step, it was breaking my game! I thought "Well I'm glad the first step/edit worked so at least I don't see that annoying pop-up about not recognizing graphics card!"
But then I tried again and realized my mistake...I didn't capitalize the "n" in cardName...😅

Hi! Thanks for your video but when I click “Save” on the Txt file for GraphicsCards.sgr, Windows automatically prompts me to “Save As” a Txt file only, so the file never saves as .sgr, it just stays as a Txt file. Please help thank you! I’m using Windows 11
Maybe you could try to change to “All files” and then when “Saving as”, delete .txt and change it to .sgr

@@Acameja or run the compatibility troubleshooter, it will work 100% when i found out the solution i was such happy. i tried anything but then i got the solution straight under my eyes

After finishing up in Graphics Rules & opening my game DeviceConfig only shows 2 phrases, which is "Options" & "Default Options". Do you know why this is?

Hello, I saw someone in the comments explaining, you just have to click on The Sims 3 with the right button and then on “properties”, then on “compatibility” and on “run compatibility problem solution”, I hope it helps!!

Instead of searching for nvidia in graphiccards search for amd Radeon, and do the same steps as in the video
I have tried endlessly to try and fix this issue and have never been able to resolve it and the sims 3 for me just sits idle. I have an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT have you any tips on what i could possibly do to get sims 3 to work on my pc? I would appreciate it so much
