  • This talk will discuss the history and identification of the Russian royal family, from the initial analysis of a set remains in 1991 to the final identification of Alexei and one of his sisters in 2009. This was a long and winding path, fraught with pretenders, such as Anna Anderson, and challenges to the science. We will discuss how the scientific techniques advanced between the two recoveries and the complex history of the identification.
