      @@donkey3187 I really believe that Edison eighter killed or had the guy killed who actually invented the 1st camera.
      The guy's personal belongings were found on the train, Joseph Nicephore Niepce inventor of the 1st camera was to meet with someone to get his camera idea off the ground but he never made the meeting and his personal papers/& camera was missing.
      His body had been found not far from the train tracks, not far from the train station.
      Not long after we know the rest and who got the credit for the 1st camera. Edison missed by a few hrs to make good his claim on inventing the 1st phone.

    George Washington is a fascinating guy and I can never get over the fact that he came from an English family. I now view Americans as ‘the same but different’ but really, in Washington’s time it was a rapid change from the ‘British colonists’ to ‘Americans’. A change in mentality. So curious.
    Also, it’s strange when you see someone’s tomb. Then it’s like ‘oh, there you are. I’ll never truly know you but I’m standing only a few paces away.’

Congress wanted to rebury George and Martha there, and they wanted to turn the Rotunda into a mausoleum dedicated to Washington. After it was completed, the Washington family refused to let the government move George and Martha's remains from Mount Vernon. The tomb on Capitol Hill is empty. An old friend, and a noted collector of presidential memorabilia, showed me a very ornate presentation case (bedecked in red velvet and gold) that contained a regal crown and a lock of hair and the pinkie finger of Washington. The provenance reveals that Washington’s Physican was granted permission to acquire these parts as was apparently custom. When the remains were moved to higher ground, the corpse was examed and the pinkie was noted missing.

    Washington doesn't need a grand tomb. I think this fits him well and he was the 1st president of the US. Those before him presided over congress which has no bearing on the office of the president of the United States

      President Day is a fake holiday created by lazy retailers in the 1980s. The Day is Washington‘s Birthday and celebrates one man.

    I thought Washington's remains were sealed away and the key thrown into the river yet the lady is standing right next to his coffin.

    Interesting video I'm Peter from Hamilton Ontario Canada I'm interested in the history of George Washington but have a stupid question is there anyone alive now that is still related to George Washington? Thanks again Peter

    • @cheshiresgaming8006
      @cheshiresgaming8006 3 года назад

      yes. mainly through his brothers and step/adopted son. Tho the descendants no longer bear the Washington name.

      Hi Peter! Thank you for the question and we apologize for the late response. George Washington did not have any direct descendants because he had no biological children, only step-children. It is suspected that he may have been infertile.

      @@mountvernon well that sucks for his family. I'm devorced with no kids myself and not because of being able to have kids, my ex wife Angy did loose one baby due to a miscarriage way back in 2001 but luckily my younger brother Chris who's American has 3 little kids who I love to pieces.
