Even with its fiercer competition, I still think CR-V is very reasonable for what it offers. Not as expensive as RAV4, still feature packed including full ADAS unlike its key European rivals like Tiguan and 3008 while still remain the most spacious inside. My only issue is the design (to my eyes) that only mother could love (it's a soccer mom car after all lol) and this car is just everywhere, quite boring sight than other more interesting alternatives like Peugeot 3008. I am driving a Honda CRV 1.5 Turbo with Honda sensing (not AWD) for close to 3 years now, warranty ending in Dec2021. Honest review, cabin noise is obvious but a good set of tyres can reduce it. 68db or 70db or 110db, I don't know, my eardrums are not tuned for that, but the cabin noise is acceptable for me. Power wise, it is very capable for a car with 90bucks roadtax, and though it is running on CVT, it can out accelerate many of its direct competitors in that price range. Fuel consumption is fairly good too for a car this size. I don't go by the counter on the dashboard. I drive around in Ipoh town most of the time, the car daily runs around 70-80km, one full tank about 85bucks and i can use that for 6-7days before the annoying "fill up your tank" sign comes out on the dash. Overall it is a good "do all your stuff" car, some might complain about its handling, but i find it irrelevant, it is an SUV afterall.

I tried giving the CX5 a fair chance, but the comfort is only on the driver. As a passenger on the side and the back, the seats somehow is not as comfortable as the ones in CRV. Perhaps it could be due to the big space in CRV while the space at the back passenger side of the CX5 makes me feel claustrophobic.

Did the oil dilution issue go away with the 1.5 turbo? I’m still reading many customer complaints about this problem and spending 30k on a car that may not last long past the warranty is a major problem for me. I would advise to stay away from the turbo engines.
WapCar Parts of U.S. like Florida and Texas and Arkansas are warmer but many reports there as well. Honda did a fix with the software and extended warranty on Powertrain for extra year but the opinion of many is to get rid of it before the 6 years is up because it’s likely to not have a long life with the 1.5 turbo.
I think the issue is different due to the different viscosity and type of oil used in the US compared with Malaysia. There has never been a complain about oil dilution in the Malaysian market so far.
